"All night!?!" Dain was really worried now... "He won't let anyone near him, forget take him home. I'm sorry, but as far as we're consered, he could be road kill."

"He's not dead, trust me... If he were, I'd... I'd feel it, in a way." Friesia shook her head. "But if what you say is true, he could be hurt, and possibly on the verge of being killed... We better go find him."

The pound man saw Ember and stopped his truck. "Hey! Stay right there!" He yelled, and ran over to him. When he made it over to Ember, he put a large hand on his head. "Hey there big fella, how long have you been here?" he asked kindly, petting Ember.

"Let's go then..." Dain said. "Just let your brother know first."

Ember whimpered and cowered at the man.

"Chris...? Okay." Friesia asked Christopher if he wanted to help them look for Ember.

Christopher shook his head. She wants me to go look for Ember? He hates me! He told Friesia no.

The man smiled warmly at Ember. "It's alright buddy, we'll find you a nice home."

Ember curled upto the man, seeing as he had no one else.

Friesia looked a bit confused. "He doesn't want to come," she said quietly.

The man rubbed Ember's ears. "That's right, it's gonna be okay. Why don't you hop in the truck, and we'll get ya home?"

"well..." Dain shrugged. "that's tough."

Ember struggled to his feet and let the man put him in the back of his truck.

Friesia sighed. "Well, let's go... The sooner we find Ember, the better."

The man made sure Ember was comfortable before hopping into the driver's seat and driving away.

Dain walked out and waited for her to come.

Ember laid there, at least now, he'd ether find a home to lose again or it'll be lights out...

Friesia followed silently.

The man drove past the pound. "They say pound caretakers are mean to the animals, but that's not true," he said, talking to Ember as if he were an old friend.
