"I-I saw something.." she said quietly, and watched as Timber ran towards the living room. "Timber!" she called after watching the puppy run off into the dark, causing her to start to walk down the stairs, after hearing the puppy whimper.

Adrian narrowed his eyes and ran down the stairs, jumping the last few steps and darting toward the darker room, hesitating before disappearing into the shadows. He slowed to a walk so his eyes could get adjusted to the lack of light and cautiously called to the puppy. "Timber... Here Timer." The boy felt his heart hammering in his chest. He had a fear of the dark, but he wasn't scared of the dark itself... Only what he couldn't see that might be lurking in it.

She walked silently up behind Adrian, laying her hand on his back, not hearing Timber anymore, which worried her that something bad happened.

Adrian jumped when Dylan laid a hand on his back, swearing under his breath for being to paranoid. "Do you know where he could've gone? Where's the light switch?" He asked, glancing around since he didn't have a flashlight and his his phone was dead, so he couldn't use that for light either.

"Sorry." she said softly after spooking him and shook her head lightly. "No I don't know where he went and it's somewhere near the wall behind us." she said softly, tempted to wrap her arms around his, but didn't, and rested her hands on his back.

Adrian nodded but continued walking forward, reaching back and taking her hand in his. "Here, Timber..." The boy whistled a low tune before stumbling over some and face-planting to the ground. "Ow." He muttered, relieved he had let go of Dylan's hand before he fell so she wouldn't follow him down. He stood back up and spun a 360º circle.

"You ok?" she asked when he fell, and heard a very faint whimper, not too far away from where they were.

Followed Adrian and walked a little past him, kneeling down, feeling the puppy's soft fur, but when she ran her hand across the puppy's stomach, she felt a hot, sticky substance and looked over at Adrian, tears building up in her eyes. "Adrian..." she said softly, worry in her voice as she spoke.
