Who knows some fun things to do on survival servers?

I am trying to login to a LAN server, but it keeps saying "Failed to connect to the server: Connection timed out: connect"

Anybody know how to fix?

Me and my friend are having the same problem, She found out though that you have to be on the same internet network (Like the same WiFi and such). We tryed to find out if we could get it to work with hamichi but we didn't find a thing

What exactly is LAN?

Local Area Network I think. Yes, you do have to be on the same internet network for it. Otherwise you have to use a server.

I've had a few problems with it too. I think you have to make sure there are no firewalls blocking the connection. It may still be a bit buggy...

I know what you guys mean i get it all the time, but thats why i use hamachi.

With hamachi, it's a completely different process, my friend lives down the road and we both use it. Basically if you want to join a server you need to join it on hamachi so you have the same address. So when you open hamachi, A box will appear, what you do here is click 'Create a network' or 'join a network'.

Join a network.
If you want to join a network you need type the IP of a existing network, and a password if it has one, once you have done that someone in that network should give you the direct connect address to play.

Create a network.
To create a minecraft server on hamachi you will need to make your own net work on hamachi, it's really simple to create and i think you can figure it out on you own. once you have made the network you will need to go on the minecraft website and download the server.exe once you have downloaded it you should drag it into a new folder and open it, it will make lots of files and folders so you can edit your server once the file is opened a address should come up in the logs, type that in on direct connect and you can play. But you need to keep hamachi and the java file open until you have finished playing

I will try Hamachi, but it might confuse me XD

Oh my gosh, last night on my game was total creeper, skeleton and spider invasion, ON EASY. I almost died quite a few times, i need to go get more dogs T_T

this happens in my swamp biome when it's night, but almost ALL the hostile mobs spawn there in my beautiful swamp, and it's on easy. and there are no wolves in site, so that's why i stay in peaceful unless i play as an enderman, creeper, or spider.

i LIVE in a swamp, that's probably why XD does the little mob disguise work in single player btw? (and i'd need help with putting it into my minecraft, i have NO clue how to install mods)

Well nothing much, I'm just the typical Minecraft lover and player.
I always pay on peaceful because mobs have a habit of terrifying me and I love to play around with building houses/structures on creative. Today I finished building a huge barn and once the simply horses mod is updated I'm going to download it and live on a little ranch. I absolutely love the Spax PureBDcraft texture pack and I use it frequently. I got into Minecraft because of Tobuscus and I purchased it in or around May. c:
