There was pain in the toms eyes, but her hide it from Moonshade. No...he really will give her a family she diserved one way or another. Escaping from his thoughts he looked down at her.
"You should get off that paw, you hurt it correct?"

[oh, yeah. speaking of Secretgrudges' and Moonshades kit problem i had an idea that would result in Moonshade caring for a small litter of kits that are not hers by birth~]

Moonshade could tell Secretgrudge was thinking of something the moment she pulled back and looked up into his eyes. But the glimmer of pain disappeared into the deep amber pools quickly and she let it go. Once he spoke, she glanced down at her paw and sighed. It hurt, but s he didn't want anyone to notice. "Ok, fine," she meowed, smiling at him. He cared about her, she didn't need to hear him say it because she could just tell. She cared for him. It was a mutual, loving relationship that came to her too easily. She had never loved anyone like this. No toms had played any important roles in her life except her father and brother.
But her father was always busy and her brother seemed to be too. She leaned to the left, letting her right forepaw hover above the ground for the first time in the moments she'd come home. Her body seemed to relax from the stiffness overcoming it after forcing each leg to take her weight normally. The searing disappeared, though the aching never stopped. She let out a grumble, wishing she hadn't hit the tree that hard. If she'd jumped off only a second later, she would've missed it and spared the trouble. Oh well.
The beautiful deputy let out a ragged sigh. She glanced at the medicine cat den and noticed Sagepaw was asleep. She blinked her heavy, sea-blue eyes and turned back to the silvery tom. "Secretgrudge, let's just rest now. Come to the den with me..." she asked softly, wanting him to sleep by her. She figured all they needed was sleep; it had been a long day.

Secretgrudge nodded, it has been a tiring day for the both of them. His nerves were fried, sleep would do him some good and Moonshade needed to get off that paw.

Moonshade turned to limp back towards the warrior's den. She slipped through the shadows; her dark pelt causing her to disappear into the shaded areas of the warm den. She let out a sigh as she settled into her own nest, slowly, as she made sure not to twist her leg. She lay on her side against the edge of one side of the nest and blinked her dazzling blue eyes up at Secretgrudge. The pretty deputy smiled slightly and patted the large area unoccupied of her nest with her tail invitingly.

(( Just letting you all know, tomorrow morning I'm off for a flight to California. It's a relatively long flight from Toronto to LAX so I'm going to poof for quite a while. I'm going for vacation/ a wedding on the second last day for ten days. Please excuse my absense - I may have internet... well, I'm pretty sure I will in out hotel room... But I'm probably not going to be able to get on very much. Please don't ban me from anything! I'll put it in my sig if I can now, but this is just a head's up for you guys ))

[I'm sorry I haven't been on in forever! I've been busy and distracted: I break up with my boyfriend, I beat dragon Age: Origins, I play beer pong and despised it, ex getting needy, AND I just started my second semester at Germanna...oh...and I got Mass Effect 2 and am currently playing it while researching things for my english assignment and reading a chapter from my history book to get ready for a test. Yeah...I procrastinate like its nobodies business~]


The tom didn't need to be told twice as he stalked up to the nest and lay close to Moonshade protectively. He wouldn't let even a flee go near her now that she was injured. He lay his silver head down on his paws.

"I'll wake you if someone calls for you." he promised her.

Moonshade nodded her head, letting out a yawn before she could say thank-you. She smiled sleepily, now understanding how much abuse her body went through today. She blinked at Secretgrudge, amazed at how his moods changed so quickly. Amazed that he was hers. She licked his cheek tenderly and let out a long purr as she nuzzled him and lay her head on his back, closing her dazzling blue eyes. Moonshade fell asleep almost instantly and continued to purr soothingly until she was really asleep. It seemed that every night her mate slept beside her and shared her warmth at night or any other time of the day, no frightening memories or images played with her mind; frazzling her fragile brain. This time, no nightmares disturbed her.
