Guide to ‘Official’ CS Dog Names

It's one of those cases where one dog broke from the main naming trend of the litter - the other Warrior Paints all have a dark base, so their marking colours were the most obvious distinction, but with that one it was very clearly white-based compared to the others, so that was what it became known most for. :3

Actually, I'm going to respectfully disagree. ^^ I've actually never heard it called anything except the "green warrior dog".

Also as another additional note to the Non-tag/common moon, it used to be called the "chocolate moon" almost exclusively, and some people may still refer to it that way.

With most of the older ones (like the moondogs), they've settled into just one or two names for the most part, so with those I'm going by what they are most commonly called now. ;3 The main problem with the names Floppy/Pointy-eared Moondog is that the rarer varieties could also easily be described as that just from people describing the dog (i.e. "What moondog is it?" "The pointy-eared one" meaning the Dogtag). For the Warrior Paint, people seemed to call it a mix of white, green and white-green (which was actually the most common as far as I can tell from the old discussion thread), so I'll change that one to White/Green. ^^ With the Celestial PPS, I've seen it called the Twilight PPS before, and also the Galactic, Tinsel (which would obviously be confusing), Dark Advent, and a few other things. Twilight has shown up enough that I'd consider it though - anyone else have an opinion on that one (and "ick, Twilight" doesn't count XD)?

But I haven't heard it called anything but the Celestial, or if I have it hasn't been in a looong time (bad memory).

Other things, while I'm here:
I know the Orange Husky/Heart more as Mustard Advent. And I think the ferret litters from November were called Brown Ferret, Champagne Ferret, and Silver Ferret - for the names of the color variations they were designed after. I'm not sure where Akita PPS came from (doesn't really look like one), but I've seen it referred to as Husky PPS.

And this is just as a dog-breed dork, but the curly-tail lineart variation doesn't really look "husky" ish - husky's have a curve to their tail, but not such a tight one. The lineart is more reminiscent of a spitz.

A lot of people called the Huskylover PPS the Akita for some reason - I never really saw it much either, but apparently other people did. XD I suppose because it's brownish with a curled tail it makes people think of akitas. I'll change the ferret names, since I've seen those ones around a lot; I'm guessing the Champagne is the lighter brown one? *knows nothing of ferrets*

The curly tail = husky thing always bugs me a bit, too, since huskies don't even hold their tails curled unless they're running. It's malamutes and the other spitzes that always have the tail curled like that. In a way calling that one the Akita is more accurate, since at least the body type matches that better than 'Husky'. ^^

So, Husky PPS and Mustard Advent - other opinions on those? And thanks, by the way! ^^ I'm glad that so many people find the list useful. :3

Just curious, why is the pup from the mausoleum litter called the white werewolf pup??

That's what Maus called it once, and no one else seems to have any real name for it, so that's what I went with for now. XD Hopefully once the pups grow there will be a more fitting name for both the litter and that pup. ^^

I call them Mustard advents too. But I've never heard of the Husky PPS, just the Akita. x3
