@Kayla, nope its not over yet
Now that we both knew that our feelings for each other were mutual, the rest of our time that day was like floating through the clouds. We talked a lot about times we caught ourselves thinking about the other and all that other romantic stuff I won't bore you with. We kept our relationship a secret for a little while to plan how we were going to approach not only my brother, but the rest of the school community who had fall in love with the pairing. Until we came up with a better plan than running away and changing schools, we were stuck.
After a while, Luna came over to mine whenever Chase wasn't over and hung out with me. We talked and played and often just resulted in cuddling and watching TV or a movie. The one weekend, Luna stayed for majority of the time while Chase was at one of the qualifying regattas for the state championships. We had spent a few hours playing cards, mind games and 20 questions.
"Hey wanna play truth or dare?" Luna asked coyly now that she knew I couldn't resist that expression. With a happy nod from me, she smiled and scooted closer.
"Ok, truth or dare?""Truth.""Ok, I'm gonna ask because I'm curious, you don't have to answer; When you finally found out I was dating Chase, what was your reaction?" she asked softly trying not to pry into the scary depths of my psyche or anything.
"Well of course I was jealous, my own twin brother won your heart when I had strived for it for so long, so needless to say I wanted to beat him to a pulp but I didn't want to hurt you since you picked him too. So I guess it was safe to say it was a mix of hurt, disappointment and envy," I answered but looked up with a wry grin,
"but I won in the end."Luna blushed and laughed,
"That you did Marina, that you did."Smiling at my victory, I decided to continue the game with a little plot twist in mind but it depended on her choice.
"Truth or dare?" I asked challengingly.
Luna looked up and matched my expression with a smile as well,
"Dare."Smiling happily at the result, I built up my nerve and looked her in the eye.
"Kiss me," I said, only thinking of the aftermath of that statement after I said it. My worry only lasted a few seconds when I noticed her expression didn't change and she leaned closer to me.
"What on earth are the two of you doing!?" I heard an angry voice from my doorway boom in. I looked up to see a very angry Chase, still in his rowing uniform. I felt myself pale dangerously; I had never seen him this angry in my life. He looked ready to kill me in a fight-to-the-death style battle over Luna.
"So this was what you're whole lesbian confession was about? To move in on my girlfriend?" he asked with a steely gaze as he entered my room.
"No it wasn't. My coming out was an accident-," "Ya right, you've been mooning over Luna since second grade! I should've known you'd try and weasel in like this," he snapped angrily, balling up his fists.
"Chase, enough!" Luna roared at him, now standing up and standing between us.
"You're acting like a territorial lion or something when all this time, I've been a lesbian too! I was planning on dumping you for her anyways!" she said with an edge I hope I never am on the receiving end of. I saw his rage reach a boiling point and I stood beside my partner in support. Seeing the truth, he threw down his bag and stormed out of the house flying into a tangent.

That Monday at school was the most tense atmosphere I had ever felt in my life. Everyone stared at us together as if we were an anomoly. They death-glared me whenever I ventured too close to either Luna or them but I hid any speculations I had well. After some talk in private, we both came to supporting the theory that my brother spread the gossip to all his friends that his backstabbing sister destroyed his picture perfect relationship. Sure enough, our hypothesis was proven right when we returned to the view of the school. They called us derogatory names, anti-gay slurs, prostitutes, and they called me the woman thief. It hurt us both, especially Luna but we held each other's hands and walked to class with expressionless faces.
The jeers got worse as the days went by. One day we had to leave the cafeteria because the rowing team decided that custard pie would compliment us. After making it out relatively unscathed, Chase came out looking rather pleased with himself.
"You know you two, I could make this whole problem for you go away. You realize that everything was hunky dory before your little rebellion. Well it could easily go back to that if things just return to normal. I know you're just confused Luna, my sister's quite the character so coming back to me would be just like before. What do you say?" he asked smugly.
"Never you jealous little nit!" Luna spat at him and grabbed my hand.
"I wouldn't leave Marina for you if you threatened to kill me!""Oy, meathead! What's your problem, you leave those ladies alone!" a voice echoed down the hall at us. Chase snapped his head up and narrowed his eyes when he saw the speaker, I turned to see a boy with spiky hair and was decked out in rainbow. Chase gritted his teeth and sniffed pompusly before turning back and returning to his possy in the caf. The kid walked over to the two of us and held out his hand in greeting.
"Sorry about speaking up like that but he had no right treating you that way.""No thank you so much for sticking up for us. It really means something finding someone who supports us for once. I'm Marina and this is Luna. It's good to meet you," I said gratefully and shook his hand in return.
"I'm Ben, and anytime. I'm new here so as much as the situation was stressful, it's nice meeting other people like me too."
