Cause and Effect (New and Always Accepting!)

Chester nodded and kept his mouth shut, making sure not let out a snappy reply or to sneer. Instead he put on a neutral expression and a somewhat blank stare at the wall. But when Alex mentioned secrets his gaze slid back to him. That seemed manipulative, Chester put his guard up again. He was always a paranoid little bugger.

Fyre was zoned out for most of the conversation, her eyes refocused and she looked between the two. "Hmm.." She heard something about secrets, but not much more. "Secrets." She murmered, under her breath. She had many secrets, she couldn't remember half of them. They just happened. Her theivery, her lies, her emotions, her voice, her eyes. Almost everything about her was a secret.

Alex glanced at the two, knowing they both had their secrets too. Everyone had secrets, whether they knew them or not. Alex had less than most people, and most weren't that important. But there were a few that he didn't even want to think about, let alone say them out loud.

Fyre suddenly stood up and walked to the window, she threw her legs over the railing and let them dangle. She hated how she had so many secrets, she hated her lying, stealing. But what else could she do? She couldn't hold down a job, she couldn't beg. There was no way to gain money and food without taking something.

"You're going?" Alex asked as he watched Fyre walk over to the window. He was hoping they would stay a bit longer. There was nothing to do these days, and they were nice to talk to.

[Malevolent]

Fyre looked back at him. "No where, probably. Just thinking. Bored I guess." She smiled and returned her eyes to her feet. She was bored, everyday, for the past two years. Theivery became dull, and lying is beginning to annoy her.

Chester glanced over at the girl, sighing lightly. This place was starting to feel a little cramped, and like Fyre said, it was a little boring. Chester climbed to his feet, "Where's the bathroom?" He asked, Chester did have to go, but he was also pretty curious about the rest of the house.

Malaia fingered the change in her pocket, trying not to think about how she had gotten hold of it. She closed her eyes and breathed in. The scent in the air was tinged with the smell of decay. Malaia shuddered. Why was she poor? Everything seemed to hate her.

"Out that door, and right down the hallway." Alex said. "Be careful. I think my parents are still in the house. If they find you, you'll be going straight to prison. And I can't do anything about that."

Chester nodded, passing Alex to the door of his bedroom. He opened it and slipped out, taking one glance back at the two. He sighed lightly when he shut it behind him, then glanced up and down the hallway. Chester instinctively moved silently, ears straining for footsteps. He thought about Alex briefly, and decided he should be more grateful. Chester soon found the bathroom and finished his business rather quickly. It was weird how clean and fancy everything was though. Chester slid back out, taking a moment to lean on the wall.
