Not quite sure on the demand, but I would definitely say that trade is unfair to the other user. The Marionette dog is a low advent and your dog is not on the rares list.

the scarf dog is on the rares list, same level as marionette.
But i believe the marionettes do have better demand c:

the Blue Snowflake Scarf dog is the same level as marionette, it just appears to be higher up because of how long the list is

just because it is two lines above doesnt mean anything. that whole section is worth the same..
the marionette has more demand and will increase in value due to it being a store pet
