Lynxpaw pulled off of his sister, groaning. He muttered something about unfairness, and shuffled out of the den, quickly followed by Squirrelpaw. "You had to cause a scene, didn't you?" he growled, shaking moss free from his golden-brown pelt. It shimmered in the sunlight, making him uncomfortably hot. He shook his head free of the moss that clung to his ears.

Squirrelpaw hissed, resisting the urge to lunge at him. She bit back a retort, which wasn't easy, and dragged herself into the forest. She found a nice patch of moss, right in the sunlight, and scraped it free with care. taking it in her jaws, she gave it a light shake, letting all the dirt fall out. She glanced at Lynxpaw, rolling her eyes as he tore apart the moss. "What are you trying to do, shred it?" she mewed sarcastically.
