I personally think the system is fine, but pointless. They added a bar to the rarity, no big deal really. Honestly I'd be okay with it if rarities were the same, but so many have been demoted to common or very common, uncommon to rares,

They would have been better just changing rarities higher rather than the bar and demoting pets. I really dislike this, it's going to be madness :I

Also, what is with posting the rarities before the end of the month? It is a hassle. What if one day you offer a very rare, then in a few days it turns OMGSC? We did fine before, why change that?

So do dates no longer count?

dates will still be important, but the labels are going to help knock some of that stupidness out. We're not going to have 66% of the site's pets rated under the same label anymore. That is what made dates important, because obviously 66% of pets don't all have the exact same value.

Last month's store unicorns are Very Rare. Would you trade them for a 08 very rare now?
I guess not, so no, I doubt years will completely be out of question now ;)

There's still a wide range of very rare pets (or of any rarity), so yeah I guess you'll have to take that into account whenever you trade. It's still possible for there to be more of an '08 very rare pet than a '09 very rare.
