As the link was cut off, the obsidian dragon felt her own emotions return. A calm surrounded her, as she came back to herself. Her eyes blinked open. She looked around, clearly in confusion as she made some confused sounds and got up, shaking herself off the floor with a grunt. When she heard what Soren said, though, she turned to him, and the dragon almost looked like it was smiling.

He whispered, but she heard it, loud as if he had spoken it. Score one for super senses. Its alright. Her look and voice turned sheepish, though, and her tail brushed gently across the floor. Sorry, I shouldnt have done that. I was just... caught up in the moment, you know? She said, her head hanging a little. She looked towards him. Her faintest words that she had left in his mind, her faintest brush with it, had given her a sense of his regret. Naw, it isnt your fault. It was kind of an accident. Im really raw at my powers, so they tend to do funny things. But, if you really want to make it up to me... After we save the world or whatever, buy me an ice-cream. She said, her voice teasing.

Soren shivered slightly, as if chilled from the cold bars around him. He remained in his human form, his dark eyes staring at Lissa from across the way. He seemed confused, wondering why she was taking the blame. "No...it's fine....I shouldn't have let my emotions go. It's a rare moment if that happens." He muttered, his body tensing, and a dark shadow crossing his face as he spoke.

"If you're raw with your powers...." Soren hesitated, unsure if he should finish. Unsure how to offer. "I could...try and help you with them." He finally managed, his head tilting to the side, and his hand coming up and brushing his hair out of his eyes involuntarily. He sighed softly, his chest rising, and then falling as he released his breath. Thoughts swirled through his head, but every single one lead back to Lissa as he waited for her answer.

Lissa listened, feeling slightly sad. That was rare? She kind of liked it, not the negativeness, of course, but the free way he had expressed himself just moments before that whole tirade. Her tail gave a gentle flick, and blood red eyes watched Soren gently.

Lissa focused as he started speaking again, her heightened senses seeing him even though he was in a dark corner. He seemed unsure how to finish... When he spoke again, a small smile slowly appeared on her face. Really? You would? Thanks! The dragon exclaimed excitedly, before reining herself back in. That would be great.

Maybe at the same time, he would open up. The black dragon's eyes watched, full of life and vitality, a queer sight to see, especially in a place such as this.

Soren's lips flickered in a small smile as he raised his chin and looked across the cage and hallway at Lissa. She seemed estatic...but he wasn't certain he could hold up that promise. He took a deep breath and spoke once more. "I'm not sure what I can do to help...but I might be able to do something." He murmured, his soft voice holding mild amusement as he looked at the dragon-girl.

His dark brown, almost black eyes sparkled just a tiny bit as he watched Lissa. Soren had never learned to open up to anyone, but Lissa was getting close to being friends with him, which was vertially unheard of. He was a loner, and preferred his life like that. He had never craved company, and tollerated lonlieness well. He had never seen the purpose of friends.

They crawled under defenses, got into your heart, and you end up cherishing them....but then one day, they decide that they no longer want you and will end up tossing you out like yesterday's garbage. He sighed softly. Friends were like that. He had seen plenty of that at the orphanage, but had stayed away from everyone else.

She watched as a soft smile slowly pulled at the corners of his face and she smiled. Sure, it was a soft one, a fragile one that looked like he was trying to be hopeful, that he genuinely felt slightly better, not by much, but slightly. For Lissa, it was good enough. She smiled back, joy in the black dragon's eyes. His voice was soft, but she heard it, and she nodded. That didnt matter to her too much. She was actually rather fine with this form, she was comfortable either way.

His voice sounded slightly amused, and it made her feel slightly bashful, but that feeling quickly got shrugged away. She looked at the slight sparkle in his eyes, his posture slightly more relaxed, most definitely not the cold boy that she had first met in the stinky garden. Wrinkling her nose ever so slightly at the thought of the garden, she gave a slight shudder as she remembered the overpowering smell to her heightened senses, and she decided not to think about it.

Maybe he thought of her as a friend now, it would be good to have friends. Everywhere you went, if you had friends, they could help you, and you could help them. He seemed to be thinking about something else now, his eyes having those 'deep in thought' -like looks. She gave a soft smile. Its fine, Im alright either way, but it would be handy to know how to shift back and forth. Heightened senses are such a hindrance, I swear someone farted just now. She complained, shaking her head.
