Ellie [♀], ??? [♀]
It was raining, but it always rained; the rain, though, seemed lifeless and lackluster, like tears falling from someone who could only cry. She hoisted her knapsack higher on her shoulder and picked up the pace, as the rain was sheeting down in buckets, and she forgot her umbrella. Ellie's memory was never really that great, and she often chided herself for forgetting her umbrella so often. Her friends nipped and teased her as well, because it nearly never quit raining. Just because the day started sunny and cheery didn't mean it'd end so, they'd say, smiles ghosting their lips. She'd just giggle and wave them off, saying it doesn't happen that often, but it happens all the time (they know that, too).
She smiled lightly to herself, and disregarded the man that tried to shove past her--he was also lacking an umbrella, but he was wearing a nice, crisp suit, so she let it slide. She'd push and shove if she cared so much about her wardrobe, too.
As car headlights flipped through her vision she locked on a frail looking person, simply standing, and not even under an awning. They stuck out against the gray, swampy pallet in their pure white clothing; it was draped along them, like curtains, and Ellie couldn't just walk past that. They clearly looked dismantled, and frazzled, and a thousand things that Ellie knows are incredibly terrible to feel.
"Excuse me," She said, getting closer, but they did not move, "'Scuse me, hello? In the white?"
At that they perked up, and it was very much a woman, with full shiny lips and lashes that could stretch to the stars. "Ah," she said, accent foreign (but Ellie couldn't place it), "Hi?"
"Is everything okay, dear?" She asked, moving closer now. "You don't look so well, you know."
She pursed her lips. "Do you know where we are, right now?"
"We're by the bookstore, dear, on fifth street."
Shaking her head, she looked up, "No, no, I mean... Bigger. Not so precise."
"Ah. We're in northern London, dear, in England. Do you feel alright?"
"I'd feel a bit better if I knew what a London was, to be honest. Also, can I ask what is going on? Earlier, it was very bright, but now it seems like I've lost all the color in my eyes. It is lovely but it is not what I want." She tugged her shawl over her head now, and it looked very ethereal, she looked very bright and so pale and so very, very lost, like a traveler so gone and absent. "Is this normal?"
"Oh, my," Ellie said, because clearly, clearly this woman was very disoriented. "Okay, would you like to come back to my house? I'll get you something to eat and drink. Come now, come on, the rain won't let up,"
"Rain," the woman repeated, like a child holds a new toy in their hand; it's sparkly and new and their eyes are so full of wonder. "You are pretty like the rain is."
"Why thank you very much, dear. Means a bit, you know," Ellie said, shrugging and taking her hand. "Keep my hand in mine so we don't lose each other, okay?"
The walk to her car seemed very, very long, and Ellie knew that the traffic would be quite interesting to get out of. She opened the door for her wayward straggler and the woman seemed very, very confused about the car. She didn't say anything, though, and got in without qualm. Ellie had to show her to buckle, though, and lines upon lines of worry were stacking on Ellie's face. Clearly she was not from here, but Ellie was wondering if she was from Earth at all, and if she had met an alien. Surely not, Ellie beckoned to herself, surely, surely not.
"What's your name?"
"Oh," she said, looking out of the window and then at the sky, "Uh, my name. Huh."
"You have to have a name, love. Can you not remember that either?"
"I don't think I had one to begin with. But! Please! Uh... Selene. Call me Selene." She was nervously rubbing her fingers and her eyes were flickering between the sky and the ground. "Yes. Selene."
"Ah, okay. Selene's a lovely name, you know. She was- albeit an archaic one- the goddess of the moon." Ellie could faintly see the outline of her apartment building in the distance, and she thanked her lucky stars; she could really go for some coffee or tea right about now.
Selene froze, right then, and then nodded slowly. "I..."
Ellie didn't say anything, because there wasn't anything to say to that.
"The moon's missing," She said, hardly audible, "the moon, it's not in the sky."
"Well, no. It's not late enough yet."
"No, that's not why, that's not why. I'm the moon. I'm the moon."

These are two of my oldest characters, and they've come a long way since their creation.
They used to be a relatively normal guy named Paul and his girlfriend Dakota.
But now...
...I'd like you to meet Paul the crossdresser and his transgender boyfriend Dakota. ^^
( I won't post their story, because right now it's just an under-developed sub-plot of another story... so just enjoy the pair as they are, 'kay? ^^; )

This is brilliant. Thank you for making a pair that isn't straight. A different pair is a great thing for this thread <3 <3
