Owner Name:
Ashenjay
Or more specifically, my persona 'Jay'

Name:
Faloin
-There were other beautiful suggestions but at the end I chose this.
I mixed the Hindi name 'Farah' which means Joy, and 'Eloine' ...uh, a character name from a novel.
She has nicknames though. People who don't like her just call her the 'pickpocket' or 'little imp'.
Friendly humans (rune bearers) just call her 'Baby with raven habits' (the like of silver and shiny objects), or 'Trinket lover' or "Gryphon baby" and such. She prefers being called Faloin though, she just likes her name.

Gender:
Female
Call her a male and she will be shocked ; w;
And there's a good chance you will lose your spoons your next meal. As 'revenge'. BD

Personality:
SHY around strangers
Believe it or not, this inquisitive, curious young rune is actually shy around strangers. They sometimes mistake her for a very polite, calm, and good-mannered (but boring) baby. It's just because she feels unsure about that person, and would rather approach them once she is sure they are her friends and not bullies or anybody mean. It might take some time, depending on her mood or what she sees in you. Oh, it helps if you have some little sparkly twinkling stuff to give her: whoever gives that, she will gladly accept the gifts, play with it, and see you as a better person.
INSIGHT is good
I told you that it may take some while for her to open her heart and approach you. In the end, she always makes the right choice. She knows what's wrong and what's right, and has great insight when making friends and 'seeing' your personality. As long as you are a good person, be patient and one day you will find Faloin as a trusting little friend.
CURIOUS about everything
She's a bit "over inquisitive". She's curious about well, almost anything that's new. She might chase after an exotic bird (which might end up being a hawk), dive into the sewers when she sees something sparkly...her random stunts might be a bit freaky, but being inquisitive is a good thing for a young rune like her. It means she'll know a lot about the world, and have a fun time.
LOVES sparkly little metal stuff
Just look at her tail! She loves all sorts of tiny ornaments or pieces of metal, anything that is shiny or sparkly. Goodness, she's good at finding them: even if something is buried under mud she will be able to rummage through and find it, to add it to her wide collection of objects. The problem is, she sometimes...steals. Not like diamond earrings, though, just spoons and those normal house objects. But she does need to learn the difference between 'stealing' and 'finding'- so for now, be careful!
HELPFUL and LOVING of FRIENDS
Faloin cares a lot about friends; She gives them gifts of her wares (this means she likes you very much! Feel honored~) she is a loyal friend once she starts to like you. She will help you in whatever ways you want as long as it is possible for Faloin, and time to time she will give you gifts and lots of love and twittering.
STRONG WILLED and CONFIDENT
Nine times out of ten, she acts on her own thoughts. She rarely listens to advice or warnings, and many times gets into trouble (e.g- getting caught in a trap).
All the accidents and troubles don't affect her at all, and she is proud and confident as ever. She is very proud of who she is and is easily annoyed if you hurt her dignity by calling her 'Tiddly's sister' instead of just 'Faloin'.
She is confident of her decisions. Unfortunately, many times they are very problematic and causes tons of problems...
SUFFERS from PERSONAL thoughts
Who knew? Sometimes....she wants more attention. Sometimes, she is jealous of her sister. She loves her, yes! It's just the natural twin rivalry, even though occasionally Faloin seems to take it very seriously.
Especially at night, when it's hot and humid and she just CAN'T fall asleep- she finds herself pondering.
Pondering if she really is happy. Why she sometimes feels like...something is missing from her life. Why she can't get rid of her stupid habit of not being about to tell the difference between 'stealing' and 'finding&keeping".
Though she's just a very, very young baby- in fact, one of the youngest runies to be known to the many bearers these days- she does have her own dilemmas, and, in her own way, she worries and suffers from her thoughts.
She finds herself childish because of worrying, sometimes sophisticated.
In general, this all leads to another important trait that should probably put in bold letters...
UNSURE of herself
Who am I?
This is a thought that many people ponder deeply to the state where they become genuinely stressed, while some others just shrug the question off.
Faloin is one of those who think about it so much at times. Am I special? Who AM I really- Tiddly's sister, the Shimmer Rune, a little mischievous thief, a bad-habit imp, a young immature baby dragon, or just Faloin?
Due to the fact that, despite all her pride and confidence she seems to radiate with her shining rune markings- she does take some chiding seriously. She wonders if she may never ever get rid of her stealing habits and grow up into a bad, dark adult. Or sometimes she thinks it's just a temporary tic, and soon it will go away leaving her to be the most righteous adult ever.
For now?
She thinks of herself as a very grumpy and stubborn dragon who loves shiny things despite all the risks.
Yes. That's it...for now.
MOODY-sometimes grumpy, sometimes bright
It all depends on her mood, her sleep, how humid the day is, etc. Little Faloin's mood changes from time to time, and it's hard to predict for people who don't know her.
However, though. As you get to know her well you know the basics: Don't wake her early. Don't compare her to other dragons, especially her sister. She prefers cold, dark days.
Just know what she likes and hates(not dislikes. HATES.) And just help her go through her mood changes, and then she will be consistent around you.
<Relationships>
A minor title that I think I should mention.
Mother, Father: Nice dragons who are quite stern about my habits, but I love them ^^
Sis: Bossy-head. Likes getting all the attention. Well, she gives some useful advice at times, and I know with my heart that I can trust her when it is a dangerous situation. But mainly? I feel uncomfortable when I see how much attention she gets. Sometimes. Very occasionally.
Rune Bearers: In general, they are humans who care for me but seriously want to fix my bad habits. Very motherly and caring, I like them all for being nice humans. But some can really be annoying. It all depends on exactly what rune bearer the person is...it's very hard to talk about them generally.
<Likes>

-Dark Nights
-Lanterns/lamps
-Sparkly or shiny stuff!!
<Dislikes>

-TOO Bright days
-Summer
-Dull colored stuff

Why do you wish to have him/her:
I loved both her parents, Azara and Gadzooks. When I heard their baby was going to be up for adoption I had to apply! Her translucent golden markings on her wings are absolutely adorable and unique. Her eyes are amazingly cool, just look at it! The ornament on her tail was very pretty as well; it looked like a very cute thing that a young rune would do to herself. When I read the description, I realized this was some rune that I just had to try and apply. Her markings are neither too fancy nor too bland, just perfect unique ones. More than that, I just felt...drawn. No specific reason why, but I felt drawn to this baby.

Where will you keep him/her:
When I get her, I will put her in my CS AND Rune dragon forum sig along with my other dragons. In the main rune forums I will put her in roleplays that I would like to join. I will make lots of art about her -I mean, she looks so fun to draw- and yes, involve her in all rune activities :3
Would you like to breed him/her in the feature:
Yes, or no.
It really depends.
As you know, I am REALLY picky with choosing mates (making all my poor runies single ;w;)
...yes.
Besides.
Once I grab the chance to grow her into an adult, I'd love to, one day, perhaps make her into an Ancient *is hopeful* until then I will gather lots of pets and such so that I have a chance to win the auction <3

Any Quirks:
Main quirk:
She keeps on stealing or finding little shining objects (especially spoons) and add them to her large collection, like a gryphon. Like she's making a gryphon's lair or whatever. She seriously needs to be taught the difference between 'finding' and 'stealing': at leats her main interests are household objects and not jewelry or anything THAT serious.
Minor quirk:
She hides from strangers. At first, she squeaks a bit and ruffles her feathers, and stares at the newcomer for a while. Then she hurriedly flutters off and hides. (Pretty obvious where she hides though: in her 'lair'). After a while she will slowly inspect the stranger and then perhaps open her heart, but the process may be stressful and annoying to the newcomer.
Minor quirk 2:
She sometimes oversleeps terribly. She may sleep at 10 PM and wake up at 2 PM next morning. She loves sleeping, and if you bother her during her sleep or make her sleep late or wake her early, you will have to be stuck with a very grumpy dragon glaring at you for the rest of your day. Please let her sleep in peace.
Minor quirk 3:
Glaring. It's a very rude thing to do, especially for people who don't know her well. Plus, her crimson and cream eyes are enough to freak a person out when they discover that she is spying on them. She tends to glare when things don't go her way, or you wound her pride.
Don't take glaring too seriously. That's just how she expresses her discomfort; we just have to fix her habit though.

<Story>
Episode 1: How I got my Glass Bell
I fluttered around, picking at my brown feathers. I turned around to see my large collection of small and big shiny objects. I smiled at it; I was by now quite fond of the objects, and believed that even some had a kind of life.
Right now, I heard the rune bearers talk. Curious, I listened. Of course I can’t understand what they’re saying, but I can tell the whole tone and such by now.
“She’s stealing so much…spoons are all gone!”
“Maybe a bell would help. It would make a sound and we can find her in time.”
Whatever they were talking about, I didn’t like it. Pfft. They can’t stop me get what I want! The rune bearers talked some more, and then left.
Time for me to act. I smiled mischievously, and hopped up a table. Because most of the silverware were already at my place, I couldn’t see many shiny things. Disappointed, I thought that there was nothing to get this day. Well, I was unlucky.
Just then something bright caught my eye.
It was a little glass bead. A perfect sphere; crystal clear, with a sky blue tint to its shining glory. My yellow and red eyes blinked as I stared at it. My goodness, it was beautiful. That was mine now.
I eagerly held it carefully in my right claw, and prepared to take off. This might be my most favorite ware so far!
Just then I heard a sound, and froze. The front door of the cottage was opening. Oh, no; the humans must be back already! Why so fast? I groaned. I had to act quick. I didn’t want to be scolded (again!) and I didn’t want to lose my glass ornament.
I spotted a nearby cabinet. Being a relatively small dragon, I was able to open the door and squeeze in. Hopefully the humans will not look for me and I will safely go back to my lair.
The humans came in. I held my breath, and shuffled my feathers in uneasiness. After a few seconds, uh oh. I was unlucky. The door swung open and the rune bearers took me out. I glared at them. Why now? Why did they have to find me at this precise moment?
The bearers exchanged looks, and grabbed me. I squealed: it didn't hurt, but I was just surprised. The rune bearers took out a round ring-like golden object.
Dad, I groaned. It was obviously my father's idea, whatever that little ring was. Seeing the glass ornament grabbed in my claws, the humans gently pried it open and took the bead.
Great. Now I was left with nothing, and I glared at them, my eyes full of childish (hey, I am a child) anger. They connected the bead to the ring-like thing...and then put the entire thing on my tail.
It wasn't heavy like I thought. Very light, in fact, I could barely tell it was there. When I twisted around to inspect it, I found it...pretty? It was pretty nice! It went well with my color and everything. Plus I now had my favorite ware ON me.
I blinked, wondering why they had gifted me this way.
Then I started to move, and I realized why. The ornament and the ring jingled, making a clear tuned-sound, like a high pitched windchime. A pretty sound, yes...but way to loud and noticeable. I slowly began to understand, and sighed. They put this on me so that they could quickly find out when I was moving, and thus stop my sneaky actions.
Dad! I thought again. And then I stared at the rune bearers, unsure of what to think. (since I can't talk unlike my lucky sister)
Okay, the idea was pretty smart.
It stopped my freedom of collecting wares; 'stealing', they seemed to misunderstand. I hated them for it.
But the new 'decoration', in a way, was really pretty and I liked it. For that, I loved the humans.
With a sarcastis roll of my eyes, I ruffled my feathers. Then I stared at the humans, and they just chuckled.
Guess I now have to live with this thing.
Episode 2: Meeting the new Human
((First let me clear a few things. I have three human rune-related characters.
AROSSI lives in Eldemore and is bonded with VENDETTYA.
KARANA might live in Siphon and is bonded with NADJA.
JAY is...me. The actual person typing this right now o3o. Obviously she isn't just an RP character and is a real person. She-I- am not bonded yet, even though I am close with Nadja.
And Jay is the one Faloin is meeting right now.))
At first I thought the only five beings interested in me were: the two humans who were quite obviously sisters, my parents Gadzooks and Azara, and my lucky sister who seemed to go along waaay better than I did with humans, other dragons, whatever.
I was wrong.
I was sitting on the windowsill, basking in the warm sunlight, daydreaming and shaking my tail. It has become a habit ever since the great incident ^. Then I heard a flutter of wings. I blinked in amazement to see another rune- an ADULT like my parents- flying towards me. She seemed pretty young for an adult, though she was way bigger than me. She was silver and gold with a faint pink aura...who was this?
Who? I asked her.
Hello! My name is Nadja. the stranger said brightly. I've never seen you before...wait, you must be Tiddly Winks's sister.
Pffft.
Another one of those 'oh you're Tiddly Winks' sister!' kind of reaction. I'm myself, not somebody's sister! Normally I would have shied off from this kind of stranger, but this one just annoyed me. I didn't care she was an adult.
I'm Faloin, not Tiddly's sister, I huffed angrily.
Nadja blinked, realizing her mistake. I'm sorry Faloin.
I glared at her some more, but eventually stopped and just kept silent. Nadja didn't go away, so I found myself asking her questions.
Who are you anyways? I've never seen any other rune except my parents and my sister.
Me? I'm a rune, a companion of somebody named Jay. She's coming to this cottage, I don't know, but-
Before Nadja could finish, the bushes rustled. Nadja didn't seem worried, but I froze and stared in the direction, my beige and crimson eyes darting from side to side.
-
((From now on, POV of Jay. ME.))
"Nadja? Nadja...there you are." I smiled as I found my dear companion. "Finally we're here. Wait-who's?"
I looked at the little brown and golden rune staring at me in surprise. As we exchanged glances, the little rune shuffled her feathers shyly and twittered something to Nadja. They started communicating, and soon Nadja nudged the brown one towards me.
"Nice to meet you!" I said as the little rune sniffed me and kept on ruffling its feathers. She seemed very nervous.
"No need to be afraid or anything." I reassured her. Though the Rune seemed a bit queer, I felt a strong liking towards the small dragon.
The dragon seemed to relax more as time passed, and finally came to the stage where the rune nipped my ears playfully and...smiled? With her peculiar eyes twinkling.
"You're a sweetie. Nadja seems to like you, too..."
-
((back to Faloin's POV))
The human- Jay, did the silver dragon say? Seemed okay. She didn't immediately say I was 'Tiddly Winks's sister' at least. And she didn't seem to mind my queer eyes or anything...I wondered who exactly she was, or where she lived, what she did, and everything. It would be interesting to find out and all-
besides, she seemed like the kind of person to collect little ornaments just like me.
Maybe she could be a great friend of mine soon. I cocked my head, daydreaming again.
<Episode 3: A habit...and a spoon.>
You know.
I can't help myself with this habit...ever since I have followed in Jay and Nadja to their place, I've really tried to stop my bad habit of 'stealing'', they say, and make myself a more polite and better dragon. But, of course, I just love shiny stuff, and I can't help myself.
Firstly, I had to get rid of this jingly bell. I liked it, but it wasn't helping me at all. I tried nipping through the thin string, only to find that it was not string but some kind of elastic wire. It did not cut even though I gnawed at it for a whole day.
Then I tried matching the password on the ring-like connector. It wasn't a mix of numbers, The password was...a word. A word that could be three digits, four digits, five digits, six digits.
It would take a long, long time to guess, and when Jay found out she would probably just change the password.
So I had to give up trying to take off my silver bell. With a sigh, I leaned against a tree and just stared at the blue sky.
Pff, the new place was nice and all, but please. I need more freedom.
Instead of trying to sneak around when everybody was near, I decided to 'investigate' when everybody was NOT around. Jay and the other runes left frequently, and came back very spontaneously as well. I just needed the right timing and luck.
I saw my chance today. All the others were such sleepers than they never woke up despite loud noises when they were sleeping. I would wake up at early dawn, investigate, find some stuff, and then go, or pretend to, sleep. It was perfect! I grinned in excitement.
As night came, while the others were drowsy I became more restless.
10. 11. 12. 1. 2. Time sped away as I stared at the clock. Finally I realized everybody were in deep REM sleep (Tiddly told me about what that was. Useful.) and then sneaked out of the room. Thankfully, the door was open.
First I would try the kitchen, and then I'll go to the attic. The attic was dusty and old, nobody bothered to clean it, but the last time I checked it seemed to have some interesting stuff there. I fluttered off to the kitchen, preparing to attack the silverware.
SPOONS! There they were. Gleaming silver spoons. How I loved their oval shape and long handle; comfortable to grip, and very useful as mirrors, shovels, and decorations. There were about ten in total. Jay would never realize one was gone unless she personally counted the silverware every day, which I doubted she would do. In excitement, I pulled out a spoon, and...and...the whole box fell over. With a yelp I fluttered to safety, but the box crashed with a loud, terrible sound.
Jay woke up.
Uh-oh. There was nowhere to flee, no alibi, nothing. I was just frozen to the spot when a very crossed looking Jay came up, rolled her eyes, cleaned up the mess and then chided me. She obviously didn't want to punish me or anything, and just tucked me into bed firmly and then went back to sleep.
Now that was a dangerous move. I decided not to do this nighttime expedition ever again, or Jay might be very disappointed and furious next time.
<Episode 4: Siblings>
Sis!!
I heard my sister, Tiddlys voice.
Wake up, sleepyhead, she said playfully, nudging me gently as I rolled and groaned, wanting to sleep more.
I could no longer stand all the poking, and eventually had to wake up. Let me sleep, for once, I grumbled.
But there's something really fun going out there!
What?
The bearers said that there was an important message to deliver, I wondered if you could come with me, you know?
Faloin glared at her, pulling herself into the warm blankets again. Why would I? Just go by yourself, and LET ME SLEEP.
Tiddy chuckled and shrugged.
Sleep well, then. I'm going to deliver some messages.
Bossyhead, grumbled Faloin before closing her eyes.
Even though Tiddly didn't exactly 'boss' around Faloin had the odd feeling that Tiddly was the one in charge, and Faloin couldn't change that with her demeanor or anything. Which annoyed her a lot at times.

<Episode 6: Winter>
((A bit later, when Faloin is an adolescent and she is living with Jay and the other dragons. From Jay-my-POV.
I'M WRITING A WARM CHRISTMAS-Y STORY DURING THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER //shot))
I knew Faloin was sometimes a grumpyhead, and sometimes she was the most enthusiastic dragon ever. During winter she was the best friend to have around.
Who knew? The moody young dragon had a compassionate side too.
During winter she was watching everybody looking extremely frozen, with their thick overcoats. Runes, being dragons, didn't need clothes or anything, but they did feel extreme chill.
Quite amazingly Faloin didn't seem to feel cold that much. She seemed to like the cold weather and the black, black darkness of winter nights.
Then I realized why: her runes and her horns glowed bright, warm golden in darkness. And during winter, they looked unbelievably beautiful and warm. Somewhat like the streetlamps that brightened up the dark alleys.
Faloin wasn't the most BOASTFUL dragon, She was proud of her abilities, yes, but she didn't boast them. Instead, she seemed to blink in surprise as she noticed her companions looking cold and hopeless.
I was surprised to notice Faloin fluttering towards me- was that worry in her eyes? Compassion? I had thought of her as a mischievous unique young dragon who cared most about her wares, and thought of her companions as just simple...companions. Nothing more.
Obviously, she did seem to have a warm heart. Or perhaps she was just getting mature as time passed and she grew 'older'. She snuggled into my scarf and looked at me, blinking her eyes.
Her eyes seem to say: Are you okay? Are you still cold? Don't worry I'm here!
For once I wished she could talk, too, so that I could praise her and say 'thank you' and she would be able to reply, and our relationship would become closer.
I smiled at my youngest rune, and now the winter seemed warm.
<Just some fun stuff: Family Relationships>
((jokesome version of the thing in the last part of the Personality section.))
Q. What do you want to say to your dad?
A. Dad, sorry for taking away your gear bands...I envy you! You've got these awesome things all over your body!
Q. What about to your mother?
A. Mom, uh...I love you?
Q. To your sister, Tiddly Winks?
A. Pfft. Mascot?? Stop showing off, sis! You get all the attention...*grumbles* One day I'm going to steal those goggles of yours, they look cool. Not that YOU look cool, though...*coughs*
<Skills and Magic>
Skills:
Faloin is quite good at being stealthy. She is usually good at hiding from strangers ('shying away', she likes to put it) and also eavesdropping. Of course those are useful skills, as long as she uses them in the RIGHT way instead of listening to stuff she shouldn't, and messing with new information.
She's also very clever when making tricks an everything. She is good at making sneaky plans, that are very, very stressful to find and prevent.
Not much people know, but Faloin has an artistic talent too. She is good at arranging her wares to make them look more beautiful, and can actually 'draw' and design once you give her a brush.
Magic:
Faloin doesn't have strong human-related abilities like her sister. She hasn't figured them out yet, but we do know.
She has something similar to Midas's Golden touch; she can make things shimmer and twinkle. She does not change their actual matter or anything, but can give things a twinkling trait. Like she has the ability to sprinkle sparkle powder on whatever she wants. Thankfully she has not figured her own magic out yet. When she does...it would be a disaster.

Faloin squirmed and ruffled her already ragged feathers in discomfort as a group of strangers passed. She winnowed her wings, and then fluttered off to a ledge in the walls. Being relatively small she was able to squeeze in, and stay there stealthily, watching the group.
They were laughing and chuckling. They didn't seem like BAD people, but Faloin wasn't that sure. She was no puppy or some kind of very friendly rune dragon: she would rather stay quiet than risk danger.
With a look of discomfort, she flew out of the ledge and elevated into the sky, ready to go back to the people she knew well.
Before Faloin met me, and when she had briefly ran out of Thorn and Jen's cottage just to have some kind of 'freedom' on her own, she met a lot of various people. This is one story that she faced. Don't ask me how I know.
-
I mustn't trust him.
Was the first thing Faloin thought as the smiling man waved at her. Like she was too all strangers, Faloin just watched him from a distance. Right away she felt uneasy; like he was wearing a mask, and inside was some sort of horrible personality that he was hiding.
She shuffled her wings, and planned to stay hidden. No luck this time. The man obviously spotted Faloin, and was doing his best to lure her towards him. Faloin huffed in scorn. Like I'd trust you right away, hmmm?
The problem was, the situation wasn't going the way Faloin wanted. She hoped that the man would stop waving and leave when she didn't react. Instead, he came nearer and nearer and seemed to be trying to get her with his own force.
Uh-oh.
What's this? The thing in the woods was sparkly silver. It was rather large compared to well, a spoon, and was certainly sparkly.
Plus, it wasn't a plain design. It had spikes around it, which glimmered in the sunlight.
Whatever it was, Faloin was determined to find it.
Sis, Thorn and Jen said don't go into the woods, that some bad people had set up traps. Tiddly Winks had warned Faloin.
Faloin ignored her; She thought she could keep herself safe. Plus, whatever problem she might get into she just had to go and investigate, her curious mind spinning.
Without a moment of hesitation, she flew into the woods and to the trees, ready to investigate. She settled right next to the shiny thing and then poked it with her claws. To her surprise, it SNAPPED.
The thing was no longer an interesting item, it was a thing of horror and an enemy. Startled, hurt, and scared, Faloin shrieked and shook her claws, only to find the thing gripping stronger and stronger and stronger....
Then she blacked out.
The next thing she realized, she was lying in the cottage, her foot bandaged. When she moved it it hurt like crazy. Ow, ow, ow. Faloin groaned and fell back into the soft blankets.
Sis, you should have known better, Tiddly flew in and said with much sympathy. That was a big trap! You could have died if you got caught the wrong way.
Faloin shuddered. For once, she felt sorry that she hadn't listened to her sister's advice. How long do I have to have this bandage thing on? she asked.
A month or two. You got hurt pretty bad.
Faloin groaned again and shook her head. She would never touch a trap ever again. What a stupid shiny thing.
Faloin walked to her 'lair'; a sparkly pile of gold, silver, and other random colors. They glittered beautifully in the sunlight, Faloin grinned again, and rummaged through the pile, smoothing the dirty ones and cleaning them vigorously until everything shined. Then she gave a satisfied nod towards it, and spent another thirty minutes admiring her collection.
Faloin cocked her head. Nadja seemed pretty cold, and was slightly shivering.
It was cold, cold winter, and despite all the heating...it was still very cold, especially for Nadja, perhaps. Faloin fluttered over to teh older dragon.
Are you okay?
Nadja nodded, and said she was fine. But she still looked cold.
Worried, Faloin shuffled closer to Nadja and rubbed her with her thick, fluffy feathers. Do you feel warmer?
Nadja smiled gratefully down at the small dragon, and yes she did feel warmer.
<Relationships>

<Story>
<Episode 3: A habit...and a spoon.>
<Episode 4: Siblings>

<Episode 6: Winter>
<Skills and Magic>
