My eyes were closed. Joe and James were still there, I could hear them talking to eachother. Did I just fall asleep? I can't believe I just fell asleep in front of two hot guys! I mentally slapped myself. Maybe I should open my eyes now. Wait, did I just hear one of them mention my name?

"She seems like a cool girl." Joe muttered. I pictured him sitting down next to James, looking over at me. I tried to keep my body still and my eyes closed so that they would still think I was asleep.
"She is. Very." James laughed.
Aw! James thinks I'm a very cool girl!
"Well, uh, and hot." Joe said bluntly, and then the two of them cracked up.
"Yeah, and hot." James breathed through his laughter.
What? They were discussing how hot I was? Awkward. Very awkward. It was like a little bro discussion I felt like I shouldn't be listening in on.
James suddenly stopped laughing. "But she's mine. So, yeah."
"She's yours?"
"Yes, as in, my girlfriend? So don't touch her?" James said in a questioning tone, as if he was asking, not saying.
"I thought she was dating Lucas..." Joe mumbled, obviously confused.

I was James girlfriend?! Ahaha, no.

"Well, I think her and Lucas just ended, didn't you see that little argument then?" James added to the conversation.
"Yes, I did see that, but I didn't see you two getting together afterwards."
James laughed bitterly. "We just... click. We're not officially boyfriend and girlfriend, but secretly, we kind of are."
"Well no offense, but she's not taken, so..."
"...so you'll back off, right?" James said in a threatening tone.
"Uh, no. I'll do just the opposite of backing off."

Why. Why did I have to evesdrop on THIS conversation. Why couldn't I wake up when they're talking about what kind of cereal they like. Ugh.

"OK. So we obviously both like her." James contemplated. "Let's see who can get her first."
"What?" Joe asked, completely appalled with James' idea.
"Let's see who can get Aubrey to fall for them first. Get it?"
Joe clicked his tongue. "Fine."

I stirred in my bed, trying to break up the conversation they were in. They all turned to look at me with surprise. I yawned and then peeled open my eyes.
"Oh dear, did I just fall asleep?"

"Aubrey, I was wondering..." Joe started, glancing at me.
"Yeah?"
He started laughing. "Hey I just met youuuuuuu, and this is craaaaazzzyyyyy..."

Oh gosh. It was actually happening. Someone was singing Call me maybe by Carly Rae Jepson to me. I can't believe this. And the way he was singing it... Oh goodness, I was laughing my socks off.

"So here's my numbeeeeeer!" He shrieked, passing me a note with some numbers scribbled on. "Call me MAYBEEE!"
He did a call me gesture and winked.
I burst out laughing more and slid the note into my pocket. "I'll be sure to do that."
"Good, because if you didn't, I would of just done a Carly Rae Jepson impression for nothing." He laughed. "Pretty embarrassing."
I giggled, and then realized this was an attempt to get me to fall for him. Well it was going to take a little bit more than singing a really annoying pop song to me in full on ballad to win this girl over. Although he was pretty close.

THE NEXT DAY

I woke up to the sound of my phone blaring out the song 'Forget You' at 4am in the morning. Forget You? My usual alarm was just a loud bleeping sound. And 4am?! I know who did this.

"KIERAAAAAAAAAAAAN?!" I screamed, banging on his locked door. "OPEN UP NOW."
"Sorry, Kieran isn't available right now, please leave a message after the tone. Beeeeep."
I growled. "You're going to pay for this."

I stomped downstairs in a huff and fixed myself some cheerio's for breakfast, adding a lot more milk than needed. I ate half of it and then mushed the rest up and shoved it in the sink. It probably wouldn't get cleaned for another week, but oh well.
I ran back upstairs and rummaged through my wardrobe. At least this morning I could actually get ready without rushing.
I pulled out one of my usual crystal-white shirts and slipped it over my torso, tugging my stripy tie around my collar. I didn't want to choke all day today, so I left it loose around my neck.
I tugged on a pair of black tights that clung to my legs and slipped on my short black skirt over the top. Just like the day before I decided to be a brave little badass and wear my pink converse, the teachers weren't that eager to tell me about them yesterday so I doubt they would today, either.
I slid into the bathroom and did my makeup, being sure to wear my new cherry red lipstick (the sparkly kind, naturally). My hair looked like a cat's choked up hairball, so I combed it down and curled it so the curls were hanging loosely around my shoulders.

I looked at the time. 5:30am. I was actually going to hurt my brother. What was I meant to do for another 2 hours?

And then I remembered, Joe's number. Should I text him or should I play hard to get and see if he can get my number out of me? Oh, I'm such a lovely girl. Really, I am.
