Plot: You are d i f f e r e n t. You always knew you weren't normal. Your family wasn't normal. One day you realize you have powers not like your sense of smell is sharper then other humans or your hearing is better. None of those even compare to your powers. A few days later your parents say that the family is moving to Japan. Why? You don't want to leave your friends behind but your parents say it's for the best. You don't understand. Is it because of your unnatural abilities? You don't know all you know is your moving to Japan.

Family Matters | Mafia RP | Semi Literate | 3 spots open

This city was always full of some of the most notable crime groups in the country, and your family is determined to leave your mark on history. For generations, one of the oldest mafia gangs -- referred to only as the notorious and infamous "Fa • mi • ly", made up of men and women, young and old -- has made the city into their efficient and irrefutable plaything. Illegal trafficking, smuggling, corruption, money laundering -- you name it, they've done it. Ten times over. Some of the best and successful businessmen are part of the Family themselves, and some of the most powerful judges and authorities were placed in their positions of power by the Family. No one dares put up a fight. What good would that do? They'd be outmatched, outwitted; the Family is rich, powerful, and of many. They're so powerful, in fact, that they no longer keep their faces hidden to the world. Oh, it's not as if they're parading through the streets declaring that they're part of the mafia. But they're not making much effort to hide the fact, either. Who's going to stop them?

The new kids in town would beg to differ. It seemed like they just popped out of the ground. One minute the Family was going to swipe some couple million in cash from the Federal Bank and then --

Someone got to it before they did. Even the Family doesn't know who this new mafia group is, but one thing's for sure: they're disorganized, in disarray, and all too eager to challenge the age old Family. Unlike the Family, members of this new group are younger, ranging from about their late teens to their mid twenties. Their gang name is undisclosed (assuming they've gotten themselves together enough to agree on a name) and they have the advantage of animosity. No one knows the members. But unlike the Family, they're small and without as much manpower. The Family refers to them as the "Mc • Nug • gets" as condescendingly as possible, although the media has taken to calling them the "Kids".

Still, the threat can't be ignored, as the Kids are ambitious and slowly gaining more and more attention. If the Family wants to keep its territory, power, and reputation, they'd better squelch this little vigilante group -- fast.

To make matters worse, two in • ves • ti • ga • tors -- a rookie from out of town and a veteran who really couldn't care less -- have been assigned to tracking down and busting the Kids, which means figuring out their connection with the Family. Neither gang needs this right now, but hopefully the veteran investigator will be able to keep the heat off them for a while. Most older officers and authorities, after all, believe trying to bust the mafia is basically a lost cause. A waste of time. This veteran won't be eager to miss their television for these guys. But the rookie is fresh out of school and ready to take down some bad guys ... and rather over-zealous, if one could be so bold.

Warriors

Fireclan lives in a moor area that experiences frequent grassfires in the summer and frigid windy winters with lots of snow falling, but little of it staying on the ground. They have to move their camp twice a year, once to a protected area in the fall to protect from the cold of winter and once in the spring to a large flat rock as safty from the fires of the summer that ravenge their winter camp. They are quick and nimble fighters and hunters. They are most known for their speed and agility in battle. (2 members)

Nightclan lives in a forest of tall trees with tall roots that stick out of the ground and hunts mostly by night, under the cover of darkness. They have a very unique hunting technique for their area which you will learn if this is the clan you choose. They rely on stealth for their hunting and fighting techniques. They are most known for their loyalty in battle and thier ability to strike effectively at night. (2 members)

Sunclan lives in an area riddled with small streams and islands, as well as some marshlands. They eat fish and other water and swamp dwelling creatures, but mainly fish. They swim well and quickly and have thick pelts that are good for swimming in the water. They use their swimming abilities as a great asset in hunting and fighting.They are most known to never give up in a fight. (2 members)

Treeclan lives in a dense forest with lots of undergrowth. They use most of the normal techniques for hunting, and are skilled tree climbers. They can jump best of all the clans and often hunt birds and squirrels high in the trees. They rely on strength to win their battles, and skills to catch their prey. They are most known for being able to escape up trees, should the need arise. (4 members)

You stand there on the stage. You feel your hand clasp the other tribute's from your district in the ceremonial handshake, but you aren't fully aware of what is going on. You were picked. For the Hunger Games. This can't be. But it is, you are led back into the Justice Building of your district. They take you to a room, leaving you there for your family and friends to come say good bye to you. You're leaving. For the Hunger Games. This can't be. You say your good byes, and board the train for the Capitol.

An unspecified time before the current date, the face of the Earth changed and modern civilization was seemingly destroyed. It is unknown precisely what caused the "end of the world", but major landmasses changed shape as the sea level rose to unknown heights around the planet. Some time after the end of the world as we knew it, a nation was established in North America that would soon come to be known as Panem. It is unknown precisely when Panem was established and how long it has existed, though it is certain that Panem has been around for more than seventy-five years, and it's entirely possible for it to be at least a century or two old.

Panem eventually grew large enough that it was segmented into thirteen separate districts, each responsible for producing goods of a particular industry to serve the growing needs of the nation, and all operating under the auspices of Panem's oppressive Capitol. Its exact method of expansion is unknown; it is possible that some of the separate districts may have even once been smaller, separate nations that were eventually annexed by Panem.

The various districts of Panem rebelled against the Capitol, primarily due to the oppressive fashion in which the Capitol government ruled over the districts. It is unknown how long the rebellion lasted or the exact number of casualties on either side (although the Capitol claims that for every dead Capitol citizen, two rebels died), but by the end of the conflict, the Capitol had quelled the rebellion, defeating twelve of the districts and obliterating the thirteenth entirely.

In the wake of the rebellion, the Capitol established the Hunger Games, an annual event in which twenty-four children between the ages of twelve and eighteen, one boy and one girl from each district, are chosen from a lottery and entered into a gladitorial competition where they must fight each other to the death until only one remains standing.

The event served two purposes. The first was to demonstrate the overwhelming power the Capitol had over the districts by taking their children by force and forcing them to slay each other in a no-rules competition. It was proof that the Capitol's control over its people was so inexorable and unstoppable that they could do something so sadistic as to force the children of their conquered foes to slay each other in a battle royale. The second purpose was purely for entertainment. The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in the same vein as a reality show, its entrants practically considered celebrities and the events themselves dramatized and glorified.

It was only a few years ago that you held your moms hand watching the kids and teens fight for there lives in the blood bath of hell.As you watched you knew only one survived through out the whole thing...As people died you watched the people around you drop to the ground sobbing.But you know when you turn 12 or more you will be entered and will win the hunger games for not only your family but your district.

There have always been Werewolves and Lycans. The Lycan; the breed that remains a savage beast and kills anything but each other. They stand clearly between man and wolf, able to stay up right but a mindless killer running on full instinct. The Werewolf; a tamer breed, the breed that can shift at will with enough experience who turns into a full wolf instead of a ferocious mix. From the beginning of man there has been these creatures. But what creature is produced when both mate and create a child? The product is a different breed entirely.
This breed, the breed unnamed, is as human as the Werewolf, though they are structured like a Lycan. But unlike their Lycan parenthood, they are not beasts. Their minds are as human as you and I, yet they are unable to take a human form like their Werewolf parenthood. They are stuck looking like a Lycan, but with human eyes and brain...They even speak the language of the land. They can only become packs with one another, Werewolves reject them and Lycans will kill them, forcing them to either band together or be left on their own.
While they can live alone, they are still wolves. The need to be around one another is still strong. They still have the primal instincts buried in their minds. They hunt, they fight over mates, land, and ranks, and this is just the beginning of the species... How will their lives play out? Will this new crossbreed survive in nature? Or is this new species just not meant to be?

This roleplay follows the everyday lives of four families and their neighbors. It has no literacy requirement, and very little plot, so everything is open to your imagination. Take a look at the families below and who's left in them, and if you're interested, click the banner to join!

The First Family

Mr. and Mrs. First had three daughters in three years and really wanted a son, so they kept having kids. After having twins, they discovered they loved having a big family and had kids roughly every four years. The family is very athletic and most of the kids are involved in different sports.

The Barnes family is small but close. They are also well-known throughout the town, being a wealthy lawyer and his wife. Their children are older, and the parents are regarded as "parents to the town".

Mr. Gray died a year ago in war. The mom, a store owner, is very busy so the 16 year old son helps raise the other kids. The daughter feels somewhat left out as the only daughter and the middle child.

Following a nasty divorce, the father, who got custody of his three children, moved to Chatham from England.
