I got my newest rat today!



She's just the most gorgeous thing. It's hard to tell in the picture, but she's champagne variegated with dark ruby eyes. And, most of her back is solid champagne but she has a perfect V on her shoulders! So, it must be God's way of telling me that her name should start with V! I'm thinking Vendetta or Vera. Any more ideas?

EDIT: I've decided that her name will be Vera Vendetta. It sounds pretty epic together.

{Okay, so, I had my ratties out last night... someone peed on me, but oh well, happens all the time. One little problem. There was blood, or something that looked like it, in it. So now I'm worried. I don't know if it was Remy or Bowser.}
{I dunno... ever since I left for that one day/night, they haven't been the same... and of course, I beg and beg to take them to the vet, but both parents are like, why do rats need a vet? I just want to scream -.-}

So I was at the store yesterday. We saw two ADORABLE ratties snuggling, and I think my mom was going to consider getting one. Well, they were males, ours are females, so she said no. (she doesn't want rattie babies) I was all depressed. XD

I get to keep Pistachio, my favorite male of the litter 8D I'm SO excited!

Also, our dark-eyed "mink" baby rat, is turning out to be a cinnamon! I'm so unbelivably surprised.. & so is my friend lol.

I convinced Jennifer, that, ruby eyed rats aren't as scary as red-eyed rats, so she's going to take Possum or Dapples with her babygirl Promise. ^^ so happy.

I only have eleven left in total, it turns out only four are male, and seven are female.

Annastasia died, she suffocated.. but.. at least I still have eleven.

I have a planned breeding for Syria on October first with Rascal, a rex black poor hooded male. He carries both rex & dumbo genes, and I ALREADY have homes for the litter. I know I'm going to get bashed hardcore for this, but Rascal and Syria both have such amazing personalities.. and since Syria is legit, the most amazing momma rat I've ever been near (in real life that is) I can't help but.. not want to breed her one last time. ;-; She's so young, and so healthy.. it'd be nice to get another litter out of her. Jackie already has plans for setting up/buying more cages just for this specific litter, and so do multiple other ratterys I'm friends with. I seem to have good lines, it seems.. started as an accident, but.. Syria is the sweetest, most laid back female I've ever owned, and Rascal, my lord, he's just a big ball of love. A litter out of them would be a dream come true.

So, bash away, I guess.. but it is going to happen. and it's good anyway that I will, because I had I don't know HOW many people message me wanting pet rats because we legit have no breeders in these parts that have nice/healthy lines. My friend is three hours away and has amazing lines, but not everyone can drive THAT far. Jackie is only able to come get my pups and give me three of her boys ( Mozart and Shakespeare can be seen here; Click click ) because her and her mother already had a planned vacation and it just so happens they're going through my part of town..

I don't know.

All in all, I am beyond happy and excited.

{Alright, update on my ratties. Bowser is doing just fine, with no discharge at all. But Remy... he's a different story. He has eye discharge bad, and a bit of nose discharge as well. He's acting fine, but still. And of course he can't go to the vet. -.- So we're gonna try to clear him up with essential oils, someone had cats they used it on, so hopefully it'll work. We'll see.}
{Of course, Bowser is probably stressing him out... I've got Rem with me, I left Bowser in the cage. His eye discharge is lessening already. Meh. Must be stress.}
{And, on another note, I think Bowser may be a champenge, but I can't be sure since I don't know what it looks like x3 All I know is, he's got white patches .3. He's getting to be even cuter than before <3}

I want rat babies now. xD I only have one cage though, and there is not many people around here that want rats. Plus, there are no healthy male rats I could breed too. ;c

No, I didn't take Vera's picture. I'm not that great of a rat photographer. xD My friend Lisa took it - she's an actual photographer and she has lots of rats that she photographs daily. Her rat photos are on her tumblr here. (Ignore the first webcam photo, but the rest are great!)

Speaking of Vera the new rat, she just bit me and drew blood. ;A; That's the first time I've ever had a rat draw blood. Man, it HURTS. Right on the end of the finger I have to type and click with.
