Hooo... going by base estimates, with say... one slot per possible Ancient child (this is NOT taking into account comparability of the pair and/or permission granted), there would be... 12 for Ancient children, with another 3-4 for other spots, so... 16 total at most. Which is WAY beyond what I'd like. So assuming everyone with an Ancient grants permission for it to be used, I'd cut it down to 8, with 4 Ancient children (there'd be a list of possible pairs, and for the sake of fairness, my own character would not be included in that number) and 4 non-ancients. And it would not be first come first serve-- there'd be some fairly strict quality control, it would run on a tight approval process.

Now, this could create issues with those who actually own the Ancients, if they wanted to play but didn't meet the standard, but... well, we'd cross that bridge when we got to it.

I agree with this. Though even I think 16 is way too much. A good RP that can flow smoothly really only needs four or six people. Sometimes even fewer, but I understand the popularity of all this as well. I would think this RP would be more of a privileged RP with it being a high semi-lit to literate. People would need to be able to spell and flow with others well when writing. It would be far more strict than the other RP we tried to make.

Also there are those who can type massive posts, but make simple mistakes such as me. Some would call this illiterate, but, ya have to at least take into account on people who have always struggled with spelling/word phrasing . Thank god for spell check XD. So

@Bena: Yeah xD As I said, I would reduce it down to eight at most (the 16 was just a base estimate taking nothing else into account), but 4-6 would be nicer. And probably cause less problems-- I know for a fact you and Verenda would meet the standard, and Dracos would probably work, so there's four Ancient owners right there. As for non-Ancient relative player spots, there are enough others up to snuff to fill in any other spots

And for the record, my main rule for roleplays is 'post enough to keep the story going, make decent characters, and keep your spelling and grammar at the level you'd use for a major school assignment' xD

I think it's pretty obvious who 3-4 people in the RP will be already ><
...just a question.
If somebody happens to go on a long vacation with no internet access...how will they follow on the plot line? Maybe they can say their character 'went somewhere' and later come back?

It sounds interesting, and I'm always for smaller RPs. Again, I'm used to one-on-one or 3-5 people RPs that were in a chatroom like setting. ^^; I'd love to apply to join for an RP like that but no idea how a forum RP feels like. Or even if my character would fit, or a character... Especially with the Reaper ideas you've given me, sad to think he'll never be played in any way.

Totally putting it out there a quick free proboards forum to split up areas/plots into smaller RPs? No idea, just gonna... take my sleepy self to check out this chat.

I figure it'll be a pretty small pool for those playing Ancient children, but there's still room for those in other spots. -shrug- As I said, I'm hovering around 6-8 maximum, split evenly between Ancients/non-Ancients, and I don't count my own characters in limited slots like this.

As for that... then yeah, something like that would work, or they'd just be considered an NPC, or could give permission for someone else to play them.

And guh, proboards. Never touching those again, every time I tried them it gave the computer a virus.
