Username: RED & The Avengers
Nickname (what you'd like us to call you): Red
Would you rate yourself as beginner, intermediate, or experienced archer? (please be honest): Is there anything below beginner? XD I've only just started
Preferred type of bow (recurve, compound, etc.): I don't really have a preference, although I prefer compound (Because they look cooler XD)
Preferred type (target, field, flight, etc.): Target
Do you hunt or hope to hunt in the future?: I hope to. I've already got a recurve bow, but I still have to get the string for it. D:
Do you compete or hope to compete in the future?: Maybe... I'm not really sure
Preferred aiming technique? (Barebow or sight)?: I don't know what either of those are, but I just look where I'm aiming.

No, nothing below beginners. xD And if you mean just look at where you're shooting as in without a sight pin or anything, that's barebow. ^^ Anyways, welcome!

That's great! If you want some tips on sooting, I have them in here somewhere.... although shooting barebow does take months and months of practice, it's worth it because a good barebow shooter can actually aim more accurately than somebody with a sighting aid!

Okay, so I didn't get the bowstring today! D: I was supposed to, but my mom had to work, and my dad was fixing a roof. XP I'll probably get it tomorrow, though. Also, what exactly is sooting?

(Oh... XD)

That's not that bad! I had archery at my summer camp, and I didn't even hit the target at all! D: (Well, I only got to shoot it once.. XP)

You know what? My mom was googling my bow, and found out the way we all thought the bow was supposed to be strung (Me, my mom, my Aunt, and my sister) was actually backwards. So I nearly killed myself tryin' to string it the other way (It's really freaking hard!) and then I shot clear over the target. I doubled my distance and hit the cardboard deer's butt a few times. >.< Really a shame, cause I'd been hitting the bullseye bout 2/10 times with the bow strung the other way. Oh well. Lost a month of practice and pretty much starting from scratch.

Maybe you'll at least get better faster? It must suck that you were putting the string on wrong the whole time! D: What's so different about the way you were putting the string on that makes it easier to shoot?
