See I have both pet rats and a pet snake. I can do it. As long as I only have to feed him mice. Which I can do at the moment cause my snake is small. Onces he gets bigger and has to eat rats I've made it clear to my mom that I will not be feeding him and she will have to. I see no problem with owning a snake. They are just as good as rats. They have their own personalities and quirks just as rats do. What's so bad about snakes? So you have to feed them mice or rats. So what it's life. Just saying its how it would be in the wild it's how it will be in a cage as a pet. >.<

I for one am TERRIFIED of snakes. That's why I don't own one. I could never imagine feeding it a live animal, and I just am afraid of them biting me.
Seeing those pictures of those rats.. I feel bad. Because considering how sick Zeus was when I got him, I'm assuming he came from a rodent mill. My poor baby :c No wonder he was so scared of people!

I highly doubt that a mouse did that to the poor snake, unless of course, you witnessed it
99% of snakes have absolutely no problem feeding on mice AND rats. I have seen several snakes eat several rats withut a scratch on them
????
Actually rats and mice are able to do that. I've witnessed it.

@Tuesday:
First of all, that poor snake! I agree, they should fed frozen. More humane to both animals.

Secondly, I got my first rat from a pet store. We took him to the vet and his words exactly were: "He probabbly has.. three days, maybe a week." I cried so hard when my grandma took him back. THEN, when we went to get food for my new pair of babies, they were selling him again. Never ever ever EVER buy pet store rats.
Previously iRowdy/OneRowdyNight and all sorts of other things.
Rest In Peace Zax. I love you.

I understand all your opinions, and now that I am thinking about it, it WOULD be better to feed pre-killed rats/mice.
And YES, a mouse can do that to a snake. I have heard of a rat killing a snake before.
