Ohmyyygoooddddd. ;-; We went to petsmart to pick up food and they had the most beautiful Champagne hooded boy! He was just a baby and I wanted to take him so very badly. D: I can't have a male, though. And I would never buy from PetSmart...
Previously iRowdy/OneRowdyNight and all sorts of other things.
Rest In Peace Zax. I love you.

Sorry for randomly popping in, but I have always wondered this...
Yes, you can. One of my best friends has thirteen rats (and has had many more in the past), all males, and she's had to get two neutered because they developed hormonal problems and weren't able to live with other rats. I don't know about a hamster, though.
On another note, I'm probably getting two new rat girls on Friday!

Not yet, it's been a while since I've been to either of the pet stores around here and their rats change pretty frequently. I do wish there was a rat rescue or a breeder I could get them from instead, but there's nothing like that here. :c I'm hoping for one hairless and one cream (or similar color) hooded, both dumbos, although both are pretty rare here. I just don't want any more black and whites, albinos, or black/gray/agouti Berkshires, since I already have those colors. I would just adore a husky rat, but I've never seen one in real life.

{I know it's probably a really stupid question to ask, but why wouldn't you buy from PetSmart? Do the rats get health problems easily, or?...}
{Anyway, Remy gave me a panic attack today. I had him out for a little while, and all of a sudden he just started to sneeze, and his nose was bleeding a bit... it stopped quickly, and nothing has happened since, but should I be worried? Or is it just from the heat, since, because where I'm at, it's outrageously hot [as in, over 100 every day hot] and I have nothing to be freaked out about?}
{My boys are so cute when they sleep; they'll curl up together, or be on top of each other. Adorableness <3}

Yes, they do. I got my first rat at PetSmart, and he came down with Phenomia and died when he was just a year old.
Also, it's not blood, but for some reason their snot is red. xD If he keeps sneezing though I'd take him to the vet, otherwise you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

{Eewwww! x3}
{That's terrible D: Well, good thing I found out before adopting.}
{But my rats seem very healthy, especially Bowser... he is the most hyper thing... there is something else, though. I have this little thing, it has a couple of wood blocks and a bell on it, and it's hanging where they can reach it. They've both checked out the bell, but have completely ignored the wood, and that's the important part... any suggestions on how I might get them to chew on it?}
