In the Mists


The Mist is a very secretive lagoon, in a secluded area, near the coast of a giant country, unpopulated by man. There are 'gators, birds, fish, and many other sources of food. . . But, in The Mist, there is another species, hidden amongst the trunks and shores by the eerie fog, it creeps without a sound, hunting for its prey, delighting in the kill. Generations ago, they used to be ordinary house cats, but when mankind became extinct, the cats were left to fend for themselves, and that's just what they intend to do . . .

RULES
1. This RP is Semi-Lit+ . . . So please, 6-8 or more decent sentences per post.
2. One Character per person. You can always replace a character if you get sick of it though. ie. kill it off
3. You can ONLY Roleplay with the official CS Cats, this includes ALL linearts (Original, Malk's and New Lines). But it doesn't matter if someone uses the same Cat as you and no, you dont HAVE to own the Cat your roleplaying with xD. . . using archive images are perfectly acceptable.
4. Breeding is going to be held off, just for the time being, until we have a nice number of members
5. You can RP amongst yourselves in this thread. ie: two friends can stand chatting while they are on the job, or out foraging for food etc. but please make it on topic and stick to the 6-8 sentence rule)
6. Mist Cats only live for 15 Years, so please, don't say your Cat is older than 10 years.
7. Standard CS RP Rules Apply!
8. No Magical Powers . . . Under no circumstances!. If you want to use the "elemental malk cats" please just say their fur "reminds people of Fire/earth/wind/water" . . . not that they ARE made of said element xD

Important Information

MAIN STORYLINE!

The Cats had to find shelter in a swampy area after mankind disappeared (Think Bayou for imagery). It has been several years after said human extinction, so the main storyline is maintaining a "clan/tribe/colony/family etc." and maintenance on shelters, finding food, killing anything that tries to eat you, blah blah blah

Sub Storyline

The first few members to join are part of the "Council/Leaders/Elders" who happened across a habitat (Think island/shoreline with not so many tree's), where fish are plentiful and there aren't many 'gators. This is where we have made our home and welcomed many other cats and started families here. Recently, many of the birds who live in The Mist, are starting to die off, which is a loss of a food source, not our only one, but still a large portion of our diets, the bodies have been forbidden to be eaten as we do not know the cause and it could possibly be contaminated with whatever it was that killed all the humans.

NPC's

Any events like 'gators, or snakes etc. will be called out by me. The first user to respond to said event will pretty much be able to run it. For example, if a 'gator is spotted, then the user can enact a big scene where they get eaten, or they sound the alarm and everyone runs away. Please note, you can't battle a 'gator xD . . . no one is that awesome. They can, however talk. If you wish to interact with an event, you can speak for it if your the first person to intercept it and the 6-8 sentence rule applies to NPC's as well.

Other

I will only be accepting about 10 people into the RP . . . and PLEASE be active. If you cannot RP for a few days, just let us know, and do a little outro. For example, your character is going out hunting and wont be back for an extended period of time xD. If you haven't posted in a week, and you didn't write an outro, then you will be removed from the RP and replaced.

Brief Personality/History: Rain was always a very happy cat, but when her owners disappeared, locking her out of the house, she had to find somewhere else. She headed south, following any food she came across, and her fur, once long and beautiful, was becoming dirty and matted. She has a calm and mature disposition, and finds herself gravitating to the young kits. She has no kittens of her own, but she does hope she will find a mate and have her own family soon.

Brief Personality and History:
Pan is very selective with who she's around. Most times she stays hidden and in the dark. She's rather jumpy when it comes to loud noises such as thunder. However, she can be the sweetest and possibly wisest girl you'll ever meet once you get on her good side. She is rather playful while alone and loves a good chase. She spends a lot of her time in trees but not too high up. Just high enough that she can jump down at anytime but still be hidden.

Pandora watched the birds fly over head. It was a beautiful, warm day with no sign of rain. The silky black she-cat strolled through the forest until she found the tree, her tree. She dug her nails into the tree and climbed to a branch. The branch was close enough to the ground to jump but still very well hidden. She sat down and searched the ground making sure no one had saw her. She let out a small yawn and stretched before laying down on the thick branch. She laid her head on her paws and looked toward the forest bed, watching for mice or something small to play with. Her ears twitched as she heard something rustling in the under brush. She sat up and jumped from the branch landing in the exact spot she heard the noise. She huffed as a bird flew off. She stood up and acted like nothing happened. She shook her pelt and decided to take a stroll through the woods.

Brief Personality and History:
Raven is very independent. He prefers to keep company with himself other than with other cats. He is quite anti-social, sometimes just replying to comments with a quick meow or flick of the tail. But, if he likes you, he'll stick around you a lot and try to converse a little more than usual. He was brought up with his two brothers, Crimson and Kai, but when they got knocked down by a car one day, he had to fend for himself. Raven was old enough then to fight off predators and hunt for himself, but he got weak and skinny quickly and soon needed the help of others if he were to survive.

●→ Mandy slowly opened her eyes to the bright light of the sky. She felt something cold on the right side of her head. W-what was going on? The sound of Black Veil Brides was booming in her ears, almost annoying her for some reason. Taking her two earphones out, Manda looked next to her and actually sat properly in her seat. She was on an airoplane to Australia, sitting next to Nick who was apparently asleep. She must of drifted off for a while and not turned off her iPod.
Amanda turned around on her seat and peeked over the edge to see the two behind her. Henry and Damien, pretty obvious. They'd all booked seats together and made sure they would be seated near. She giggled at the two then flicked a little hair out of her face.
"Pssst, Damien! How long do you think till we'll be landing? My legs are aching, seriously," she muttered to him then awaited his reply. Knowing him, Mandy guessed that Damien most likely didn't know. But oh well, it was fun talking to everyone! Also, Damien was pretty awesome to talk to. Everyone was but still, not everyone was like Damien.

Brief Personality and History:
Nazar's history is not a nice one. Born as an only kit, he was loved by both his parents and always the center of attention. When he was still young though, a little too young to be taken away from his mother, he was taken to be with another family, though this supposed new owner of his was a terrible one. Living the life of a hoarder, she took in what cats she could get, though could not keep up with their well being or health. The most that his owner ever did was give him a red collar. Being the youngest this owner had, he was taken advantage of and abused. Because there was little to share between food and space, he barely got anything he needed. Finally sick of all the other cats, he managed to slip through a hole in the wall and escape. From then on, he became very untrustworthy of other cats and tends to stick to himself. He would rather do things alone rather than being part of a group. Although a thick shell rests on the outside, he can be generous if given the right cat breaks through to him.
RP Example:
Another chilly day. The lagoon was just as it always had been. Fog covered the surface, hiding the dangers that lurked within. Any cat would be think it would be stupid to go so close. Nazar flicked his tail as he padded closer to the water's edge. Fear was nothing to him. His cold blue gaze focused on the surface, making sure there was nothing around. From the looks of things, it was just going to be the same as always, no gators and no one else to bother him. He lowered his rear, sitting on the shore and staring at the dirty reflection of himself. A soft sigh passed his lips before laying down, taking a rest and trying to get away from all his troubles.

Dusty is a very smart and quiet cat. She is reserved and prefers to keep to herself, of course, that doesn't mean she's shy. Staying in big huge groups can be a bit nerve racking, so she likes to stay with herself and likes to use the trees, her thoughts, and her shadow as her company. Because of this, others may think she comes off as a rude and snobby cat. That's not the case. Dusty is always willing to make friends and accept company. She's just not going to run in and greet everyone like some other cats.
As for her history, Dusty was found out in a alley once she was a kitten. The family who found her thought she was black, and once they gave her a bath they realized that this was not the case. Not wanting to name the cat "Dirty", they went with a more pleasant name, Dusty. Ever since then Dusty has been living with her family. Up until this point. Now her clean fur has once again turned dirty and dusty, though her original fur color does remain. The one thing she keeps that reminds her of her family is the collar they gave her. She protects it strongly, and tries to make her nothing catches on it.

Spiderface shrugged at Silvertails reply and flicked his tail as Smokeheart came over, nodding. Turning to Maplepaw, he rolled his eyes. "Maplepaw, I would like it if I could speak for myself." He meowed, frowning at Silvertail's annoyed comment. "Dont worry, I'm sure we can make it your time of excitement. Maybe we can find a way to mix fighting and hunting together." He meowed, padding to the entrance of camp. "I know that for rabbits there's a move were you have to roll onto your back after you catch them, it requires a lot of speed and focuse though. The move is somewhat like the Belly Rake, only, you're not clawing the rabbit up into shreds." He then meowed, looking back at Smokeheart, Crowpaw, and Swiftpaw. Maplepaw was under a punishment, but that didn't mean he had to make this hunting trip boring. Besides, Crowpaw and Swiftpaw hadn't done anything wrong. And Spiderface didn't want to make Maplepaw miserable.

Brief Personality and History: Sparrow was born to a nice group of cats, and lived with them for the half year of her life. She was shown how to hunt and fight by the older cats, and was content with her life. However, one day when she was out hunting with most of the cats, she got separated. She tried to find her way back, but being the young cat that she was, she panicked and ran off. She ended up getting lost in the forest, far far away from her home. She finally had enough sense to stay in one place, and waited for a very long time. Meanwhile, Sparrow's family searched, but couldn't manage to locate her. After a few days, Sparrow got the idea that her family had abandoned her, since she never saw a glimpse of them since she got lost. So she made up her mind, and left, leaving her family behind.
Sparrow isn't exactly a nice cat.... She snappish, irritable, anti-social, and sometimes just plain mean. She isn't very sure of herself, though she keeps that to herself. Sparrow is rather mature for her age, though inside, she's still a kitten. She refuses to get to close to anyone, in fear that they'll also abandon her. She's very proud of her hunting skills, which she's practiced a lot by living by herself for so long.

Brief Personality and History: Tiger was very loving and loyal, he was very social. Almost having/resembling a dog's personality. He is a very playful cat always wanting to have fun though he knows when to be serious and when to be playful. Tiger grew up into a loving home consisting of an elderly woman who's husband died. The tom stayed with the woman for awhile before he decided he wanted to explore the world. So, he stayed one more night with the elderly woman before he left setting out into the world. The tom soon found the lagoon and has been staying there for two months hunting whatever he could find. After a few weeks in the lagoon the house cat's fur was dirty and matted. Though, somehow he managed to put up with his disgusting matted fur.

Marlon opened his eyes as the first ray of sunlight spilled into his den. Standing up, the little pup stretched his legs and padded out of the den. He yawned showing his canines --not that he had many-- he padded across the clearing to the fresh-kill pile. He picked up a rabbit and padded off. He sat down setting the rabbit down. He looked around camp before beginning to eat the rabbit. After finishing he decided he would go find some food in town. He stood up burying the bones before padding out of camp. Head and tail held high. The Shepherd/Alaskan Husky padded through the thick woods towards the nearest town which in this case would be Tokyo. He loved the humans, they were friendly though he refused to be a pet. He finally reached the edge of the woods stopping, he glanced around before trotting out into the open. He wondered what his pet friends were up to, there was Sonja the cat, Blue the Akita Inu and then Maple the Bloodhound/Boxer. He stopped at a store and began barking softly. A Cream colored cat appeared, "Hi Marlon. How's the life of a feral dog?" Sonja mewed curling her tail around her paws. "Good." Marlon said running off, he had to find food. "Bye!" Sonja called after him. Marlon wagged his tail in response before running down an alleyway, he knocked over a trash can and began sniffing around. He pulled out a small box. He sniffed it before picking it back up and running off. Marlon ran down the streets towards the woods hoping he wouldn't be caught by any human. Pups were the worst humans of all! He stopped looking around before breaking into a run again. He disappeared into the woods tail wagging happily. He slowed down relaxing his muscles slightly as he padded through the dark woods. He picked up a little speed spotting camp. Wagging his tail he took off into a run again. He skidded to a halt bumping into Lucy. "Where have you been?" Lucy growled staring at him. "Uh... I just went out to find food." Marlon said wagging his tail, he dropped the food. Lucy sighed licking Marlon, "Come on before Ursa finds out your gone. That elder has a cow every time a puppy goes missing." Lucy said. Marlon nodded and followed the Hound back to camp.

Rains fur was soaked and her body shivered as a cool wind blew through the tree's. Water fell from the sky in a constant wave and the swamp around the camp slowly rose, creeping closer to the shelters. She was very irritable today, having been wet and cold for several hours, and not being able to sleep. Of course, something else was troubling her. Recently, several large species of birds, that we often hunted for food and feathers and bones, were suddenly turning up dead, with large blisters and open seeping wounds on the bodies. The stench was horrendous, even before the body had started to rot, and it worried the entire clan. Perhaps these birds were falling ill, like our owners did. Or perhaps it was from over hunting on our part. We did not know, so for the time being, birds were off limits. It made several of the younger, more impulsive members quite agitated and annoyed, but they all agreed in the end that it was probably for the best.

One of the leaves that Rain had used in her small hut had over flowed with water, dousing the poor she-cat on the head. She growled and glared at the leaf, as if daring it to drop more water on her....

Nazar's cold gaze stared outside as he watched the rain fall in front of the entrance to his home. Even if he was part of this new clan, he prefered to live in his own home. It simply made him feel better and didn't have to worry too much about anyone bothering him, especially now considering the downpour. He was sure that all the cats would want to stay inside and out of the rain. The ground inside was getting a bit wet from the rain, though it wasn't too bad. As the tom raised his head, he noticed another cat outside wandering around. From the way she was acting, it looked like she had been in the rain for a while now. Was she just not looking for a place to get out of the rain? He stood and made his way out into the rain, watching her as she walked by. He was not one to just walk up to a strange cat and start a conversation. His icey eyes narrowed to her as he stood there, following her movements through the fog from the rain.
