"Thanks for making the shelter, Gavin." Allison said sheepishly. She had not done much. "Madeline has my blanket, but we won't need it for warmth." Even though the sun was going down, it was still pretty hot.

"Let me see your arm." Ashton said, noticing her fussing over it.

Mercedes hid a glare and gave her head a shake, her face flushing at his concern. "I'm fine," she said shortly, "I just bruised it over a fall." Her words were cut off by a soft sneeze, in which she rubbed her nose and yawned sleepily.

"You keep messing with it." he said calmly "Let me see it. And don't go getting sick." he added, hearing her sneeze. "whats your name anyway?" he asked indifferently.

"Like I can help that," she rolled her eyes, slowly lifting up her arm to reveal the bruise covering her arm against the glossy moonlight. "Mercedes," she added quietly, swallowing back another yawn. The last thing she needed was to fall asleep with two strangers.

Ashton ignored her irritated comments and examined the bruise. He took hold of her arm and moved it from side to side, seeing how large it was. He touched it very softly.

Mercedes winced and bit down on her lower lip, refusing to make a sound as he inspected the bruise. Her eyes glanced up towards the swaying branches above them, moonlight spilling over their smooth bark. “…Well?” She murmured, sounding delirious, “Your name?”

"Well, It's not too bad." he said, seeing her wince but not cry out. "The name is Ashton." she said shortly. "You're tired, aren't you?"

"No," she muttered sharply, "Not that it concerns you. How is a girl supposed to get sleep around here, anyways? I'll probably get murdured in my sleep, if not kidnapped by these crazy local idiots." She frowned but wasn't able to hold back a yawn.

"Hey now, why would you get murdered when there's people to protect you." he said logically. "And it seems like the 'crazy locals' haven't shown any outward signs of aggression." Yet he thought inwardly.

"Isn't the sky beautiful?" said Allison. "I'm glad to know that if I die, it'll be in a place where I can see all the stars." she added, only half-joking.
