@ShadiSin Aww! He sounds adorable! In my state there are a lot of 'dumbos' but almost half of them aren't but people are trying to sell them off as dumbos.
I made a major breakthrough with Teyha today! I took her in my bathroom and for thirty minutes I just pet her, put her on my shoulder, and let her crawl around. When I brought her back to her cage and put her back in, she willingly crawled back out! ;u;
Also, I learned that my girls love blueberries.

I feel terrible saying this, but one of my fancy girls, Apollo, has gotten to the point where I cannot touch her. There's the occasionally moment where I can stroke her back, but other than that, she's not social. At all. Her sister is perfecly happy to be handled and loved on and, most importantly, medicated if need be. They've been wheezing a bit lately, so I gave them some guinea pig treats that are high in vitamin C to hep them fight anything off, but I'm afraid that if Apollo gets sick, I won't be able to help at all. Our vet doesn't like to be bitten and she likes to bite. Any tips on fixing that?

When I got my latest baby-girl, Zelda, she had a nipping problem. I did what people reccomended with puppies to stop the nipping of flesh. I would put yogurt or something soft on my wrist and when she licked I said "good girl" but if she nipped I would tap her on the nose or flick her ear, which caused a moment of discomfort but eventually she stopped nipping hard. It took a while, but it worked. She only nips when you scare her, she gets mad at you, or she gently nips when she wants your attention. All that matters to me is that no blood is drawn.

I went to buy a new top for my newest rat cage, and, of course I had the urge to look through the rats as always.
Right at the left back corner of the cage, a black berkshire DUMBO male.
I about died.
I snapped him up, and instantly he started snuggling and licking on my hands. ;-; I fell in love.
Sally was supposed to be my last buy, but as soon as my parents saw him even they couldn't resist. He's the cutest little thing ever.. and after five years of looking for a dumbo, I am beyond happy. ^_^
I decided to name him Ames. He's so sweet, and so tiny! It looks like his front left paw is swollen, and he's dehydrated.. but I can fix that up no problem. His droppings are also icky/gooey.. again.. medicine and he'll be good as new, I hope.
I cannot believe my luck. Never have I come across a dumbo in this part of Alabama. ;-; I never thought I'd get my hands on one. Ever. and now I have one.
I put him in with Oliver and Bentley before introducing to see what they'd do, and I expected some dominance but instead they both happily pounced on him and legit started grooming him to no end. I'm going to keep him with the two, and keep a super close eye on them. I think it's because both Bentley and Ames are young compared to Oliver so he isn't feeling threatened. Bentley couldn't be happier with another new friend ^_^ it's just precious.
I've had two dumbos in the past (one albino, one black, both girls), however, both died after a short while (they were still babies)

it broke my heart, and so I got two more to replace them. I got the white one (Clairese) when I was buying the standard rat food for my baby-boys, and I saw this small, the runt, rattie being rougly pushed around by the bigger babies, I snached her up, and I showed my mom. She fell in love with it, as her dumbo ears where way big and unpreportioned. She passed sadly, so I got Koko (my lack dumbo) and Fuji (my female rat). Koko passed away and I got Zelda so Fuji wouldn't be alone. Dumbos are amazing, right?

Problem is, she doesn't nip. She
bites. I have scars on my hands from her bites. I'll be putting their food in with their scoop and she'll bite my hand. o.o Walks up and bites me.
