Hey, guyz I posted on here a while ago when my past rat died. Since then I adopted four new ones, Nialler, Louis (Both dumbos), Jasper (Feeder rat but was too cute), and Liam (fancy rat). Well, I've had them for three months now. They all are males and live in a five story, metal large cage. I got them all at the same store, Jasper was a feeder rat, so he was not supose to be a pet, but he is all white with a black splash on his face so I had to get him >-> The store owner said he was not a pet, I rolled my eyes and was like 'Dude, they are all pets lay off.' so I got them all and brought them home. Jasper is having issues and I need advice, I have had many rats before, but he is strange. Their cage is in my bedroom. So I'll pet them then put them in their cage, turn the lights off and go to bed. Three of them go off into their little sleeping places, but not Jasper he squekes and scratches the whole night. At first I was like 'okay maybe he does not sleep at night, but during the day' or 'he's new just give it some time' after two weeks of this I was tired. Then one night I found out if I keep the lights on he goes to sleep/resting. I was like 'What?!'. I turn the lights off, sure enough five miniutes later he's screaming. A rat afraid of the dark what?!


So any help, I took him to my vet and she could not explain..........^_^

Amg, all the rats are so beauutiiffulll, but I just looveee the colors of Mocha's and ShadiSin's rats <3

.. Sadie's eyes are staying dilated.. can anyone explain that? ;-; she also seems more 'blind' than my other girls.

When I had Fluke, my disabled blind rat, his eyes were exactly the same.

Also, can anyone explain Sally's coat? I really hope it isn't just baby fur growing out, but I know it's a possibility, too, but overall I got her for her personality anyway.. so.. lol

Well, remeber, rats bred for being pets are properlly socialized with humans. At the pet store i go to, the feeder rats are crammed into a small tub, barely enough room to run around, with water and food. They aren't touched unless they are being sold that day. They aren't properly socialized, and as cute as they are, they are nasty and will not snuggle or play with people.

So, I've decided that, whether my mother likes it or not, I'm getting the little Ryu, and this gorgeous Cinnamon Fawn (I have no idea) blaze cap thing dumbo they have (she's absolutely beautiful, I just can't resist)
You know, if they're still there.

All of the others are doing awesome. I should have enough money within a few weeks to get the boys a new, bigger cage, so they should be happy.

Syria is about to pop. ^_^

She's just now showing her 'teets', and that belly is nice and firm. I can't wait for these babies, my god.

Luckily, my friend MIGHT be able to come and take two off my hands, so now I have two places to rehome two each. <3

I'm really hoping this is a small litter.. but you never know.

I'm thinking about taking Teyha back and getting a different female. She's been biting me lately and it's strange for a rat to bite. Delilah has been great though and loves being taken out of her cage!

Okay.. I was bad.. ;-;

I went to buy a new top for my newest rat cage, and, of course I had the urge to look through the rats as always.

Right at the left back corner of the cage, a black berkshire DUMBO male.

I about died.

I snapped him up, and instantly he started snuggling and licking on my hands. ;-; I fell in love.

Sally was supposed to be my last buy, but as soon as my parents saw him even they couldn't resist. He's the cutest little thing ever.. and after five years of looking for a dumbo, I am beyond happy. ^_^

I decided to name him Ames. He's so sweet, and so tiny! It looks like his front left paw is swollen, and he's dehydrated.. but I can fix that up no problem. His droppings are also icky/gooey.. again.. medicine and he'll be good as new, I hope.

I cannot believe my luck. Never have I come across a dumbo in this part of Alabama. ;-; I never thought I'd get my hands on one. Ever. and now I have one.

I put him in with Oliver and Bentley before introducing to see what they'd do, and I expected some dominance but instead they both happily pounced on him and legit started grooming him to no end. I'm going to keep him with the two, and keep a super close eye on them. I think it's because both Bentley and Ames are young compared to Oliver so he isn't feeling threatened. Bentley couldn't be happier with another new friend ^_^ it's just precious.
