Adeline Hitchcock

Adeline smiled, watching Eli shake himself out of his thoughts, and wondered what he was thinking about. Maybe someday she would ask him, if she didn't forget, though that wasn't likely. She hoped someday she would know him so well that she could almost tell what he was thinking, every little thing he did with his body would be a clue. He studied the elevator buttons next, which she found odd; the boy's curiosity was intense, a trait he probably gained from sniping. While he looked at the buttons, Adeline decided to try and memorize every detail about the elevator. The walls were a shiny, silvery gray metal, most likely steel, and the floor was a light colored wood that was polished so much she could almost see their reflections in it. The numbers on the buttons were cut outs filled with a glowing white light, and there were a ton of floors. What was kept on them all?

The elevator slowed, then, bouncing slightly as it came to a smooth halt. The metal doors slid open, giving a view of a dark garage with several shiny, fancy looking black cars. There were warped reflections gazing at her from the metal doors, the hub caps gleamed, and the seat looked like new leather. Addie assumed there was some sort of special name for them, but whatever it was, she didn't know it. She took her place next to Eli in the back seat, sliding over to the space next to his, and fastened her seatbelt snuggly- cars were still a little weird to be in. In the driver's seat, where there should have been a person, there was nothing, like the car was going to drive itself. At first this unnerved the girl, but after some consideration it seemed plausible; they were assassins, their technology should have no limit.

The drive was bumpy, for the majority of the ride, then it smoothed out as they reached the airport. Adeline watched fields of sun-starched grasses go by out the window, with burrs floating on the breeze. It was warmer, wherever they were, and the airport was certainly far off from anything besides shrubs. When she climbed out of the car with Eli, the sun washed over her arms and her face, spreading warmth; it felt like a taking a hot shower. She climbed the steps to the airplane, or jet, marveling at it's size- there were only going to be twelve people on the jet, if it could steer itself like the car could, but there looked to be multiple levels on board. Addie had never flown before, and while was nervous, she knew she would spend the entire flight staring out of the windows.

The inside of the jet was elegant and cool ((temp)); there were dark leather arm chairs arranged to make a sort of living room, a small hallway leading off to the side, even a mini-fridge in the corner, in which sodas and bags of chips were stocked, a little normalcy in the midst of something that was still all too unreal. She took a cherry soda out of the fridge and climbed into one of the wonderfully cushiony armchairs, letting the leather engulf her small frame.

((Anybody wanna talk to Addie? She's not really comfortable jumping into conversations uninvited.))

Lidia leaned back in her seat, raising an eyebrow as Bentley and Eli both decided to go bug Alex some more. They really are wishing for a death wish, aren’t they? Shaking her head, she pulled herself from her thoughts and looked at Adrian and Rose. She nodded, confirming to Adrian that her past was, indeed, confidential. It was her one weakness, though she would never admit it. Why would she when no one even knew her past? Though, they could just as easily find out. Such as Alex. If the blue-hair streaked girl wanted to know, she would know how to get it out of the blonde assassin. It was her specialty. But, that didn’t mean Lidia would rather die than let anyone know her past.

She nodded in agreement to Adrian’s next words. He was right. No one liked a sob story. And her’s was just that. If witnessing your parents’ murder at the age of seven didn’t count, then she didn’t know what did. Actually, that could fall under the ‘oh you poor thing, that’s terrible. How horrible of your uncle to do such a thing!’ category. Or, to be much more simply put, the ‘that’s just plain wrong.’ At least the computer hadn’t blurted out her--or anyone else’s--past out to the room full of assassins. Just their weaknesses. Things they could possibly kill each other with if they ended up not liking each other at all. Such as the Bentley and Alex case. Alex would surely kill him by the time they either got to Russia or by the time they got back, considering how he was set on p*ssing the girl off.

Lidia looked at Adrian with a raised eyebrow. "No, not a boyfriend--never dated. It's not a best friend, sorry to disappoint, she said, smiling a little here, before continuing. "I have no reason to hate or be mad at a stranger...so that's out too. Leaving only...a family member. Your first guess." she said, shrugging. "But, before you ask what they did, that's the part that's confidential."

[[nuu choey dun leave us Dx XD]]

[[oops! Well! I have to go as well. I'll be gone for a few hours. Going to a book signing c: i was working on this before I left, so if anyone has posted interacting with Lidia, Adrian, and Rose, sorry for not replying to you too! :)]]

Adrian River Duran

Adrian rolled his eyes in an over exaggerated way. "But we're not in Russia; we're on a jet. A little conversation wouldn't kill anybody right now, so feel free to burst out in song and dance. That's a h*ll of a lot better than sitting here for hours," he paused, "or days? Hm." He looked up at her, serious for a moment, before laughing quietly. He could see everyone - or at least the people he'd talked to recently - faking a smile at that party, dancing to play a part as the plan panned out. Or maybe they'd all have fun and he was jumping to the wrong conclusion. But dance right here on this jet? That was funny. Though, it didn't feel wrong to assume most of these people could dance. They're assassins after all. Why wouldn't they know how? Adrian pulled his legs around until he was sitting up normally on the couch. He tapped his feet a little, watched as Addie walked over with a soda and sat down on one of the arm chairs.

Well. He kinda wanted a soda now. "You look pretty relaxed," he noted as he passed her.

Adrian walked over to the little fridge in the corner, glancing back over at Lidia. "C'mon now," he said, opening the fridge and pulling out a random soda. He never really had a preference when it came down to soda, opening it and closing the fridge as he turned around to face her. They were in the same network, expected to work together in the field staring death in the face, and live together on a jet which, as Alex and Bentley's relationship showed, still meant facing death. And she couldn't even tell him about her past? Actually, it wasn't even her entire past. Just a little part, albeit a rather important part by her response. This whole confidential thing was getting a bit annoying, yet entertaining nonetheless. Now he had someone to bug. Maybe someone to laugh at if Rose planned on dancing on the jet. Yeah. He'd probably hold her to that, since she was the one who brought it up in the first place. "You're alive, it couldn't have been that bad." Adrian shrugged, taking another drink. He walked over to the couch he was just on and took a seat on the arm. It's not like he didn't have all day, which was both a good and bad thing.

[Hey Zen, I edited that post if you want to reply to it and jump in the conversation. There's also Zero to talk to.]

Adeline Hitchcock

Adeline watched from her armchair as three assassins bantered back and forth. Their names she knew from the ID cards, but she had never actually met them or talked to them. From the way they joking, she would have guessed that they knew each other fairly well, but close friends, as far as she was concerned, didn't bother each other about sensitive details from their pasts. Lidia looked like it might be fairly uncomfortable for her, but she was taking their jokes in stride, playfully eluding Rose and Adrian from what they wanted to know.Reflecting on her own past, Addie didn't have anything she particularly wanted to hide- except for Otto. That was still too raw to be reopened. Everyone has secrets, you just have to dig deep enough to find them. This thought made her glance around the room, wondering what all the other assassins were hiding. Details from harsh pasts, maybe, or something awful that they'd done and now regret. She considered joining their conversation and defending Lidia- her past wasn't really any of their business, but then Bentley came up and made her point for her.

Addie took a sip of her soda, which was possibly the best soda ever. It tasted like heaven, she thought, or maybe like actual cherries, that was a surprise. Adrian then walked past her, remarking on how relaxed she looked. "I guess I realized that being nervous wouldn't get me any less killed, so I pushed it out of my mind." After a moment's consideration, she added "This soda's good, too."

Rose let out a light laugh at Adrian's response. "My singing and dancing isn't the best in the world, and I think I might be killed by the end of the flight because of that." She said in a joking tone. She was partially lying though, because she thought that she was a fabulous dancer. Mainly because she had taken dance classes for so many years when she was younger. Her singing, on the other hand, was horrible and she wasn't afraid to admit that. She wasn't sure about the dancing skills of the other assassins, though. They probably knew a little bit. Looking up at the ceiling of the jet, she let a small smirk appear on her face.

The brunette noticed another girl and then Adrian get a soda. What? There was food in that fridge and no one had told her? She swung her legs around and then stood from the chair, weaving around the other armchairs to get to the fridge. She honestly wasn't a big fan of soda, so she skipped over that and pulled out two bags of chips. They were the little dinky ones, but they were better than nothing. After closing the door to the fridge, she went back to the same chair she had been sitting in and went back to her upside down position. She layed both bags on her stomach, opening one of them and putting two chips in her mouth. Yeah, she'd probably choke, but it was work it.
"I'll do a little dance for you if you give us at least another hint." Rose said, her tone half serious, half joking.

She couldn't blame Lidia for not wanting to spill out her past. Anyone's past, no matter if it was good or bad, led to be some sort of weakness. She wasn't sure about her own past. Yeah, it wasn't the best past in the world, with her abusive stepmother and all, but she wasn't sure what kind of weakness it would have on her. At the thought of her horrible stepmother, she lightly rubbed her left upper arm while cramming more chips into her mouth. After a few seconds of dwelling in the past, she removed her hand from her arm and looked at the two assassins.
why hello there! i see you have a smudge on your screen.
    don't worry, i hired a cleaner:

Bentley had stationed himself at the bottom of the staircase, peering up the structure in hopes of catching a glance of Alex in all her rage and glory. He really couldn’t get a good view, but wasn’t going to risk a front row seat. Instead he settled for listening. Shortly after hearing the handle turn, he heard the can fall and the splattering of water echo it. He had to get out of there, or she’d surely come looking for him. The boy retreated back to the couch, grabbing up a pillow as precautionary protection from her wrath. She didn’t bother coming down, or so he thought as he heard the garbage can chucked across the upper floor. He couldn’t help rolling his eyes in amusement, thinking, ’Of course, throw the garbage can. Perfectly reasonable, Blushies…’

Suddenly the boy’s eyes widened in realization that Eli wasn’t with him. ’Oh my god, she just threw that garbage can at him!’ the boy assumed. ”Eli! If you’re alive, don’t move! Just pretend you’re dead and she’ll leave you alone,” Bentley called up to the assassin that had accompanied him, joking of course.

The boy had planned on waiting for his new partner in crime, but conversation from the front of the jet had caught his attention. It seemed the boy Adrian, and the girl called Rose, were prying Lidia for information on her past. Bent recalled breaking into files years back and coming across Lidia’s in particular. He had read it over, and it was something that he had particularly always remembered out of the many stories he’d heard. Although he couldn’t say there weren’t cases much like hers, it had taken him back in surprise. Seeing the look on her face now, he could tell she didn’t want to tell anything. He couldn’t blame her, he wouldn’t have wanted to say anything put in her position either. Not only that, but she would be revealing the information to other assassins. While they were friends now, who was to say later on they wouldn’t be enemies; they could use that information against her if she revealed it.

Unable to let Lidia give in, Bentley approached the group. ”Oh, it could be that bad…” Bentley stated, reaching the edge of the group. ”Actually, being alive could be worse than having died in some situations…” he added, taking a seat in one of the open seats. His deep azure eyes glanced at Adrian and Rose for a moment before he continued. ”Either way, how realistic would it be for her to reveal anything personal to you? Whose to say you won’t use it against her?” he commented, glancing at the girl he was defending. ”Personally I think she’s given you too much information as it is; or by the sounds of things, I could assume that… Put in her position, I don't think either of you would be too keen on admitting to anything. Just think about it...”

The boy glanced over at the staircase, looking for Eli. He would invite him over once he spotted him, but until then he had another argument to finish; and if not invite him over, Bent would probably just retreat from the conversation. Retreating was doubtful, though. Bentley had just gotten himself into another dispute, and he couldn't say if these two would act favorably, or unfavorably. It was always one after another with this boy, these arguments. Why couldn't he just mind his own business like he said he was going to do? He was doing too much socializing for his liking, but this was his first squad/network work he had ever done, so maybe he just needed to get his feet wet; test the waters a bit.

[ so I'm back after a complete waste of time of night. ]
[ for the first 30 min of the midnight showing of Dark Knight Rises the screen was off, so we only saw part of their heads b/c the top of the picture was cut off ]
[ so they played around with the screen while we were watching, which was quite annoying ]
[ which is not to say that the fact they were having the problem in the first place isn't frustrating ]
[ then they pause the movie -- thank God -- and then they say it'll be "3 - 4 minutes while they try and fix it" ]
[ so then they turn the movie back on and nothing has changed. it's still messed up ]
[ so one hour later of messed up movie, we're ushered out of the theater and getting refunds. ]
[ this is ridiculous ]
[ I could've seen Batman Begins and Dark Knight at home. the only reason I went to see it in theaters was so I could see it all in one go with all my friends. >:C ]

Alex screwed up her face as she heard the knock on the door and the voices outside, but she was a bit too groggy to react. For a moment she considered skipping the meeting altogether so she wouldn't have to get up. It wasn't the first time she'd have done something similar. Still, someone would probably kill her -- literally -- if she did that, and she probably wouldn't get a good spot in the mission, which would really upset her. So she grumbled a bit and got up from the bed. Since she didn't use the covers she just rolled off -- literally rolled off, landing on a splayed out eagle position on the floor -- and stayed there for a while to summon the energy to rise. For a while the outside of the door was quiet. Sighing, she finally heaved herself up and went to the closet, where some clothes were waiting. Shrugging mentally, Alex grabbed a pair of sweatpants and pulled them on before yawning and rubbing away the sleep in her eyes. She was still rubbing them when she opened the door.

That woke her up. With an outraged screech she looked down on her sopping self and immediately roared to wherever the stupid narcissist was hiding, "You're done for, Narcy!" before seizing the trash can from the floor and scraping the hallway for clues to see if he was still here. She was about to leave when she did a double take and paused.

It was like playing "Find the Difference". What was wrong here? Alex frowned, and to make sure she kept moving she wiped the wet hair from her eyes and shut her open door -- open door. Alex swept her gaze around the hall once more. Weren't all of these doors open? Yes, that's right, because she could tell without going into all of them that they all looked the same on the inside.

Systematically, Alex wielded the trash can ready above her head and started with the door closest to the stairs. She didn't want Bentley to sprint off when she was on the other end of the hall. She kicked the door open. Nothing. She moved onto the next one. Nothing. She did this until she reached a room where she saw a dark mass of something that looked suspiciously like a human silhouette and without hesitation threw the trash can without stopping to think about it. Moments later, Bentley's shout came from downstairs, and Alex angrily strode into the room, turning on the light and glaring at the most-certainly-isn't-Narcy on the floor. Who was this guy? Well, clearly he was guilty as charged, as well, so Alex strode over and placed a good kick in his shin before seizing the trash can once again and storming downstairs to the seating area, nearly knocking over a pair of assassins in the kitchen in her rage.

"HEY B-TCH," Alex spat at Bentley, "CATCH" and threw the trash can at him. Whether he caught it or it hit him didn't much matter, as Alex tackled him as soon as she threw it and took advantage of his momentary distraction with a trash can in his face. They basically toppled to the floor, Alex making sure she ended up on top. Snarling, Alex wrapped a cold, wet hand around his neck and digging her thumb into his jugular -- hard. In the back of her mind she was waiting for him to punch her or something. Bentley was the one that specialized in physical combat, not Alex, and at that moment she furiously wished she did, as well. Taking what she could get, she readjusted herself to planting his arms to the floor with her knees and basically sat on his chest, hoping his feet couldn't reach her there, before leaning over and sneering at him, "You're dead" and beginning to tighten the grip of the hand around his neck.

[ ... that was kinda power-play // godmodding, wasn't it? crap. okay, feel free to like, dodge Alex or something, jerzey and smamm. I won't mind. but give her at least one hit in, si vous plait? xD ]
[ but yes, Alex does have such a short fuse that she would try and strangle someone to death because they pranked her. it really wasn't the fact that she got wet. it's more the fact that he was able to prank her in the first place and made a mockery of her. ]
