I play the flute, though I wish I played a saxophone. I love their sound and my friends that play it all say they love it.
;-; Instead I got a flute, the hardest instrument I've ever played.
What don't you need?
"A broken toy."
What do you hate?
"Something imperfect.''
What to you fear?
"Lacking something..."

I highly disagree. o-o I think the clarinet is the hardest instrument I've ever played (Play the piccolo normally.) It tends te just suck the air right out of me, and I have to fight to make the notes sound like they should. D;

Anyways, *plays clarinet and piano*
People keep telling me that playing clarinet helps alot to learn piano. Is that true?
I'd really like to learn piano, we have one, but no one will give me lessons =(
well i guess you could say that it does. I use my clarinet and piano together. Like if i know a song on my clarinet i'll match the notes on each instrument and vise-versa. And I didn't take lessons, i taught myself
though it took a while getting use to using one hand for harmony and the other for melody XD

Eh, I dont think I could ever be a brass even though Im getting used to the embouchure changes with tenor sax. but fuzziepaws, I can relate with you. Here... *all of brass-playing friends' spirits join fuzziepaws* :D There are lots of cute guys, and theyre all nice :)
Hardest instrument to learn? Everyone told me that the higher woodwinds were hardest... but with the clarinet theres no need to change your embouchure, and getting used to those changes I think were the hardest for me to learn. eesh. Still cant get them right. The low E is especially hard. Once I started clarinet and really dug my brain into it, It came almost by second nature.

I play clarinet, sax and flute, and have been a clarinet and saxophone teacher for four years and clarinet is definitely the hardest instrument to learn how to play nice on.
And I've been looking for a thread like this for a long time :O *bookmarks*
Clarinet is my main instrument, and I play 1st. clarinet in the province band for youths between 15 and 20. It's awesome, love it. Last summer we where in the Netherlands, playing at World Music Contest.
Go band geeks!

always wanted to play the french horn when i was younger but never got the chance... as my school didn't bring in music instructors
got into high school (11yo - i'm scottish btws) + started learning piano (+ a little bit of jazz piano), A + B flat clarinet + guitar
guitar didn't last long as i ended up with blisters on my fingers :S :\
now play in 3! bands.... hehe... takes over my life at times
feels like thats all i ever do! but i love it and wouldn't give it up for anything!
