Jumping slightly, Aasiyah spun around to face Ryu. Calming down from the sudden shock she nodded her head.
“There is another creature in solitary confinement named Varias. Could you go check on him and see if the guards remembered to give him a cot and pillow?” She scrambled her brain trying to think of what else needed to be done.

Varias looked at the wall. He hated this room. There was nothing in here! Really nothing! Did they want him to lose his mind?!
He paced in his cell. This was so annoying. He didn't mind being locked up, but at least they could give him something to do...
And that woman... Aasiyah? She promised a pillos andf blanket. Some promise! There was absolutely nothing! He leaned against the wall and sighed. He started to wistle a tune.

With a single nod of her head, Ryu turned around and exited the room, heading towards solitary confinement. The halls were almost silent; just the faint stirrings of creatures in their cages as she passed like a ghost. Veering down a path to her right, she opened the door in front of Varias's cell, closing it firmly and seeing out his form in the dark. Ryu spotted him quite easily with her night-seeing eyes, leaning against a wall and whistling. She saw immediately, of course, that there was no bed or blankets for him. Casting here eyes around, she saw bedding supplies tucked into a shelf in the wall, and wondered, with a hint of irritation, why the guards hadn't bothered to simply take the blankets from the shelf and give them to Varias. Gathering up an ample amount of bedding, Ryu stepped closer to the bars and thrust the assortment of blankets and pillows through.
"Here," she deadpanned, studying the creature closely. This was the one who could twist reality, as she recalled, so Ryu's mind - more wild that human - was on guard.

{ Lets see... Varias tried to escape and so as punishment the guards locked up all the creatures and told them it was because of Varias. Freak and Daniel had there moments of flames and drama. Thats really it. }

Varias stopped wistling and looked at Ryu. "That took you long enough..." He took the bedding. "Thanks." He dropped it in the corner and sat down on it. He looked at her in silence for a moment, thinking.
"So, why do you decided to become his worker? Only because it keeps you out of a cage?" he asked. He pullen the blanket over his legs, sitting on the pillow. "And why do we have to be locked up so much? If you would treat us better, I wouldn't have tried to escape. I feel like a criminal here, and I don't like that."

She tilted her head. This was the first time any of the creatures had spoken to her like she wasn't something wild, something different than they were. Sure, the other workers treated her as their equal, but never any of the creatures.
"I'm not sure why I am a worker," Ryu confessed, "Freak simply told me that I was strong enough, so I accepted." She didn't want to reveal that her attachment to Freak was one of the main factors in her becoming a worker, because although it was obvious that her loyalty to him was almost.....doglike, admitting so would be admitting to weakness, to dependence.
"And......I don't know why Freak keeps you locked up. I've tried asking." Ryu felt an almost unfamiliar emotion; a touch of pity for Varias. He was a proud being like her, valuing freedom. She leaned up against the wall, unsure whether to stay or go.

Varias looked at her. "Ah, I see... So you like working for a monster who locks up others? In wonder what's so great about that." He crossed his arms, looking in her eyes. "Is it the power and freedom he offers you? Or the fear of being caged if you don't do what he tells you? To be honest, I would feel like a slave... I admit he has some good ideas, but his ways of doing it is wrong." He closed his eyes for a moment, thinking. When he opened them again, he leaned forward, leaning on his knees. "You realize you are just one of his tools?" he asked softly.

"Yes," she said flatly, speaking, as always, in her hollow voice "And I don't like it. I don't like anything." Ryu pushed herself away from the wall, crossing the room in a single stride to sit in front of the bars. She figured that he would just tell her to leave when he was finished talking to her. Ryu didn't speak out to defend Freak, for she knew that his way of doing things - though it was effective at keeping them in - was universally hated by all of the creatures. But she didn't say anything to imply agreement either, she was simply neutral, as always. Just watching, waiting, with no emotional ties to anything in this world.

Varias looked at her.
He stood up, the blanket fell on the ground. He lowered his arms, looking at the bars. He didn't knew what to say, but it was obvious she was unsure what to do now. He looked at her. "is something bothering you?" he asked.
He leaned against the wall. He felt a little tired, but he did't care now. He would rest and sleep later.
