Rose was getting slightly annoyed with the lights turning themselves on and off, over and over again. After the first few times the lights were doing this, she clasped her hands over her eyes, also closing her eyes. Well that would get rid of the lights problem. She got bored, thought, after just a few minutes of lying like this. She removed her hands from her closed eyes, one hand staying in her lap while the other boredly played with her necklace. It was a gold little cross she had gotten for her sixth birthday from a distant cousin, but she had never worn it because she had been so young. Before she had run off from home, she had taken the necklace with her. So here it was.

She opened her eyes after a few minutes, sitting up straighter in her seat while running a hand through her hair. There was no possible way that she could sit and do absolutely nothing. The only exception to that was if she were on a mission. She lightly tapped her feet on the ground, not making any sound, to a tune that was stuck in her head. She couldn't help it if she had so many things running through her mind all at the same time. As the minutes ticked by, her stomach let out a faint growl. She ignored the sound, already knowing that she was hungry. She really liked food and since her shower had urn late, she didn't have time to actually get herself a somewhat decent breakfast that would hold her over for a while.

She looked over her shoulder at a boy that commented about how no one was really talking to one another. She turned to face the front again, and as she did she lightly shrugged her shoulders. It wasn't really a response to the comment made, and was most likely just a shrug to herself. It seemed like everyone had arrived, and she begged, hoped, prayed, whatever she could do in her mind to just get this show on the road already.
why hello there! i see you have a smudge on your screen.
    don't worry, i hired a cleaner:

Zero began to fist his pale right hand, before he gripped the side of the chair hard with his fingers as again the lights flickered against his vision to easily give him a roaring headache by the fifth person. He didn't sleep at all last night by his mind, and now having to be assaulted early in the morning with flashing lights was not something he was ready to have done to his retinas. Sinking deeper into his chair, he moved his left hand to his head as another flash happened to his poor eyes. He released of a soft groan before seeing the next person arrive though the doorway.
After the process of everyone arriving, and himself closing his eyes to the light he looked around at the faces that home the seats. A few he knew as friends, old battles, or just hanging out in the main room for a talk, and a few he didn't know where here in the building. Though, as he stared around he noticed only one person out of the entire group was missing in the open chair. Late, as usual for this. He at least came early to grab a seat then come late for a meeting of this day. The day they knew was arriving as of last week, and yet even himself seemed hyper by the thought of his team and partner. Before his life he was a child of very nice parents, and a brother who loved him very much. Yet, that changed the day he died. He forced always in every single mission that involved to kill that it was done for his lost brother, Rex. He couldn't save Rex back then, but at least he could do his best to prove to Rex, where ever he was, that his death was never in vain. With a small let out of breath at the thought of his past, he stared at the screen above as he waited for the next person to arrive.
When they did arrive inside, it was another painful flash of light, and the meeting could now begin as each set of teen eyes watched the screen with mixed emotions of their inner thoughts.

Jake Brenden Soul
Live Fast and Die Hard
Male//19//Single//Bree//Dragons//Explosives and Stamina

Jake grunted his agreement when Bree expressed her dislike of the eye scanner, he didn't like it either but it was something that he dealt with. Once in the room he scanned the empty seats and all the ways of escape, it had become habit for him now and it was one that wasn't worth it to break. Now he knew that nothing bad was going to happen while in the mission room but after going through training he had to be ready. That was when Bree said something about finding their seats, "Yeah." He said and let her lead as he was still scanning the room only this time for possible things that could be used as weapons.

Once Bree found their seats he sat beside her, he was lucky to have a partner as most here didn't know who their partner was going to be or even what squad they were going to be assigned to. Jake watched the door as people continued to come in, it got to the point where there was only one person left and seeing that all the girls were here it had to be one of the guys, though he wasn't sure who it was. He scanned the room again trying to remembers everyone's name and specialty, Bentley specializes in hand-to-hand combat, Alex specializes in reconnaissance, Adrian explosives and firearms, Skye specializes in stealth...... His thoughts went on until Elijah came into the room, he was the last person to show up and Jake couldn't help but be glad that he wasn't in his position.

The lights of the room didn't bug Jake as it seem for other people, he could use such a distraction to his advantage if something were to go wrong. He also knew that someone could use the distraction to get the better of him or Bree, the thought of someone hurting Bree suddenly made Jake's blood boil. He couldn't help or save his mother and he wasn't going to fail Bree like he did his mother. Jake looked over at Bree and gently touched her hand, it was more to re-ensure himself that she was there and not a vision of her, I wont let anyone hurt you. He thought to her, though he knew she couldn't read his thoughts. As Jake was looking at Bree he noticed Zero or Big Z, as he liked to call him, he nodded at him before turning his attention to the front of the room. Jake was usually a patient person but he really wanted the meeting to start now as it was now a little after seven.

Adeline Hitchcock

Adeline drummed her fingers on her knee, trying to match the faint sound of rain tapping against the roof, lulling her into a drowsy stupor. Nothing was better than a rainy day, when you were inside, with a jacket, and nothing better to do than sleep...

Jolting awake, Addie blinked rapidly and tried to remember where she was. She floundered in her chair for a second, almost knocking it over, and then managed, with some difficulty, to steady it. Looking around, especially at Blue Haired Girl who was sitting down the row aways, nobody appeared to have seen her stupid moment. That would have been embarrassing. Slowly, casually, she looked at her watch, it read ten minutes past when she entered the room, and that meant she couldn't have slept for more than five minutes, if that. Probably, no one noticed, and if they did, it wasnt like she had anything better to do. The screen flashed, then, startling her, then twice when she was looking at it. No one was paying very much attention to it though, or anyone else. That part she didn't mind, but things were starting to get a little dull. Speculating about partners would drive her insane, so she looked around for something to amuse herself with.

Blue Haired Girl, unfortunately, was going to be her source of entertainment. Adeline studied the girl, as intently as she could out of the corner of her eye, and basic observations. This girl was : one, very comfortable, she was probably excellent in her skill, knew the majority of the people in the room, and had been going to the Academy for a long time; two, watching everyone else. Normal enough for a trained assassin.

Bree glanced around the room, taking in the familiar and unknown faces of the people around them. She recognized a few people from seeing them around the academy. She slouched a little in the chair, crossing her long legs. She was eager to get the meeting started. She was desperate to find out what squad her and her partner would be in.

Her ice blue eyes snapped over to Jake as he touched her hand. She was very sensitive and could feel even the slightest touch. She was puzzled at why he touched her hand ever so slightly. But, she didn't question him. She offered him a small reassuring smile before looking away from him. She was typically an awkward person compared to a lot of people.

The room seemed to be filled with silence and blinking lights. The silence was haunting and slightly uncomfortable. The flashing of the lights, however did bug her. She had always disliked strobe lights and they gave her a small headache.

Hello everyone! I am back for the summer since I have nothing to do over the span of my two month summer vacation!
I am searching for some semi-lit roleplays to take part in to keep me amused over the time. I won't be on every single waking moment although (like I used to) because I do have a little bit of a social life this summer (surprise, surprise!).

((Don't be scared by this post. xD Most of it is just the reading of the identification cards, for your own intuition. If you want to skip that portion, that is fine. The mission and the last part of the post is mainly what you need to be concerned with. ^^))

This time when the lights shut off, they weren’t going to come back on. The last of the twelve assassins meant to report to the mission room had arrived, and was surely on their way to taking a seat. ’So much for trying to squeeze in that nap…’ Bentley complained to himself, adjusting his hat so he could see again. The screen was alight with twelve white identification cards shown, six on the left and six on the right, on the dark blue background. Each card held all the information you could ask to know about each assassin, at least all you needed to know. Private records were never revealed in these sorts of things, just the basics you needed to know in order to successfully understand the assassin. Above the left grouping of cards read Knights, the first team; where as above the right grouping of cards read Dragons. The boy remembered finding his card in the left grouping, and so his eyes had instinctively jumped to that side of the screen.

His card was on top. A picture of his face was toward the left side of the small white rectangle, and was the most visible portion. To the right and below was writing too small to be read at the size it was. As his azure eyes wandered down the row, the rest of the cards were the same; their faces to the left and information taking up the rest of the space. The computer would begin the meeting as soon as everyone was seated, pulling up each identification card one by one specifically and explaining everything it held to the squad of assassins. The only thing Bentley was finding odd was the large number of assassins the information was about to be explained to. Usually information was only revealed to a student’s squad, and no one else, where as now it was going to be revealed to his/her squad and another. He figured the computer would explain things sooner or later, and if not he’d have to be the one to ask so long as no one else beat him to it. Bent was beginning to wonder what was taking so long for the last member to find his seat, but just before he straightened up to turn around, the computer started off the meeting.

Welcome students! Glad to see you all could make it. As you are probably all aware, you are being assigned new groups for the year. Just like the last we will begin by introducing each assassin to your squad by reading off your identification cards. However, before we begin, you may be wondering why there is such a large group that your information is being revealed to. Allow me to explain. As you all may be aware, the size of your age group is the smallest we’ve had in a long time. Due to this, the academy is making pairs of squads we’re going to be calling a network. There are six other squads in your age group, but you lucky twelve are going to make up our only network. Partly this is because the academy would like to test this before making it an official procedure, and partly because you twelve are the elite of your age group. In the future, there will only be one network per age group made up of the most elite students, much like you. I’m getting ahead of myself; my apologies. Anyway, you two squads will be collaborating in larger, more complex missions than you have tackled before. In order to make sure things go smoothly, you will be assigned a simpler mission in order to get the feel for this new procedure. That will be explained after introductions. Now, allow us to continue…

’So they’ve picked out the most elite in our age group… but why?’ Bentley was intrigued, wondering what the real reason behind all of this was. He wasn’t going to accept that it was because of their small numbers; the academy had dealt with this sort of issue many times in the past. There had to be a different motive they weren’t revealing, which put the boy on edge. His demeanor displayed no change in his thought process other than an uneasy shift in his seat as he listened.

We will start with Squad Knights… the computer continued, picking out Bentley from the top and enlarging his card. Now the text was visible next to the enlarged photo of him taken at the beginning of the year. The computer began reading the text, formally introducing the boy to his new “network”. Bentley Layton: Solo Assassin. Age: 18. Gender: Male. Hair color: brunette. Eye color: blue. Height: 5’10”. Weapon of choice: hands. Bentley specializes in hand-to-hand combat, but keeps all other skills balanced. He is weakest in explosives, coding/research/hacking, gathering Intel, and archery. He particularly excels in hand-to-hand combat, seduction, firearms, knives and swords, sniping, stealth, and undercover work. the card was then minimized, and the original screen was brought up momentarily. The next card was then selected, and enlarged.

Lidia Vanderbilt: Solo Assassin. Age: 19. Gender: Female. Hair color: Blonde. Eye color: Grey. Height: 5’6”. Weapon of choice: handgun. Lidia specializes in firearms, but keeps all other skills balanced. She is weakest in explosives, hacking/coding, and sniping. She particularly excels in firearms, knives and swords, archery, hand-to-hand combating and stealth. the computer read before, again, the card was minimized, and the original screen was brought up. The next card was then selected, and enlarged, and so the process would repeat for each assassin.

Skye Briht: Paired Assassin with Taylor Anderson. Age: 17. Gender: Male. Hair color: Blond Eye color: Green. Height: 5'7. Weapon of choice: knives of any sort. Skye specializes in stealth and evasion, but keeps all other skills balanced. He is weakest in hand-to-hand combat, more accurately anything that involves general upper-body strength. He particularly excels with thievery, including most aspects of moving stealth and evasion.

Taylor Anderson: Paired Assassin with Skye Briht. Age: 17. Gender: Female. Hair color: Dirty Blonde. Eye color: Blue. Height: 5'2". Weapon of choice: Firearms. Taylor specializes in firearms, but keeps all other skills balanced. She is weakest in hand-to-hand combat, archery, and explosives. She particularly excels in firearms, medical knowledge (first aid stuff), and hiding.

Zero Knight: Paired Assassin with Rose-Marie O’Donnel. Age: 18. Gender: Male. Hair color: black. Eye color: blue. Height: 5'7. Weapon of choice: handgun. Zero specializes in Coding/Tactics/Research/Hacking, but keeps all other skills balanced. He is weakest in torture, explosives, knifes, and swords, and long-range firearms. He particularly excels in hand-to hand combat, short-range guns, his skill, and stealth.

Rose-Marie O'Donnell: Paired Assassin with Zero Knight. Age: 18. Gender: Female. Hair color: Brunette. Eye color: Brown. Height: 5'5''. Weapon of choice: Bow-and-Arrow. Rose specializes in archery, but keeps all other skills balanced. She is weakest in up-close fighting, explosives, and anything to do with computers. She particularly excels in being flexible, stealth, and gathering information,
the computer finished, tying things up for squad Knights.

Now we’ll start on the squad Dragons… the computer continued, choosing the card from the top of the Dragons squad list. Jake Soul: Paired Assassin with Bree Flynn. Age: 19. Gender: Male. Hair color: Black. Eye color: Dark brown. Height: 6'2. Weapon of choice: Hunting knife or bow. Jake specializes in explosives, but keeps all other skills balanced. He is weakest in coding/research/hacking, gathering Intel, seduction, speed. He particularly excels in explosives, stamina, hand-to-hand combat, firearms, knives and swords, sniping, undercover work.

Bree Flynn: Paired Assassin with Jake Soul. Age: 17. Gender: female. Hair color: red. Eye color: blue. Height: 5"3. Weapon of choice: fists or handgun. Bree specializes in hand-to-hand combat, but keeps all other skills balanced. She is weakest in far distance shooting and electronics. She particularly excels in sneakiness and kung fu.

Alexandra "Alex" Keum: Solo Assassin. Age: 18. Gender: Female. Hair color: black. Eye color: brown. Height: 5'7''. Weapon of choice: psychology. Alexandra specializes in reconnaissance, extraction, and torture, but keeps all other skills balanced. She is weakest in explosives and sniping. She particularly excels at lying, acting, torture, infiltration, and cold reading.

Adrián Duran: Solo Assassin. Age: 18. Gender: Male. Hair color: brunette. Eye color: brown. Height: 5'11''. Weapon of choice: Assault rifle. Adrián specializes in explosives, but keeps all other skills balanced. He is weakest in Coding/Tactics/Research/Hacking, Archery, Sniping, and Swords. He particularly excels in explosives, firearms, hand-to-hand combat, being stealthy, and deception.

Adeline Hitchcock: Paired Assassin with Elijah Smith. Age: 18. Gender: female. Hair color: brunette. Eye color: hazel. Height: 5'3”. Weapon of choice: Knives. Adeline specializes in knife combat, but keeps all other skills balanced. She is weakest in computer coding, hand-to-hand combat, and explosives. She particularly excels in knife combat, stealth, undercover work, disguise, and seduction.

Elijah Smith: Paired Assassin with Adeline Hitchcock. Age: 18. Gender: male. Hair color: Brown. Eye color: hazel. Height: 5’9”. Weapon of choice: AK-47, semi-automatic pistol, or a 500 Sniper. Elijah specializes in Sniping, but keeps all other skills balanced. He is weakest in hand-to-hand combat and hacking. He particularly excels in Sniping, Close Range Shooting, and Any Motorized Vehicle,
the computer finished, finally finished with introductions.

Now that you are all familiar with one another, we can move on to your mission. You twelve are to retrieve a classified document from the Russian mansion belonging to Piotr Vasilevich. Piotr is believed to be in possession of a very valuable document labeled UMBRA. I would tell you more about it, but it is strictly confidential. Your goal is to retrieve the document and return it to me. There is a party Piotr is hosting tomorrow night, which with the time difference will be a few hours off from your arrival. After this meeting is closed, you all will be leaving for the airstrip, where your private jet awaits to depart for Moscow. I will be sending all information regarding the mission and where we believe the file to be located to Zero Knight. Zero, as the only tactics specialist in the group will be developing your plan of action for the coming night. All clothes necessary for the party will be loaded onto the plane for each of you to change into, as the party is a formal event. Now, are there any questions, or shall you be dismissed for the jet?

It all was a lot to take in at once, but not for Bentley. He had successfully absorbed all of the information and processed it. He did have one question, more or less a comment. ”So, what exactly is the real motive behind this whole network thing? It’s because of the government, isn’t it?” Bentley prodded, knowing what the response would be. That information is classified, Mr. Layton, it responded, practically confirming his suspicions. They were still trying to go under the governments’ nose, making sure they didn’t know about what was really going on at the academy. ”It’s because the squads have been too small compared to previous CIA standards, isn’t it?” the boy continued, a devilish grin tugging at the corner of his lips. Any other questions? the computer asked, completely ignoring Bentley. The assassin chuckled in victory, having figured things out. He didn’t really care in the long run, just liked to let them know he wasn’t completely brainwashed.

Having no further questions, the boy straightened up and lifted himself from the chair. If anyone else was asking any questions, the boy didn’t need to hear them, and he wasn’t going to be held back by someone moving too slow for his own pace. He marched quietly outside of the mission room, and made his way to the elevator across the room. He pressed the down arrow, waiting for the doors to part so he could depart into the garage. There, there would be three GMC XL Yukon Denali’s that would take the twelve students in the network to the airstrip, where their jet would surely be waiting patiently.

[ don't take my post to heart either ... I actually probably put too much in. =_= ]
[ and I'm sorry if it's all over the place ... Alex thinks like that, is all. she's somewhat scatterbrained but everything makes sense to her. it's like "think one thing -- but what about this -- now go back to the original thing -- think about something new" ... but it works for her. ]

Oh, my Lord-- Alex thought as the lights shut off once again, but thankfully something actually important happened. For the last five minutes she'd been fighting to ignore the searching glance of the girl in the same row as her who was taking Alex in. Alex supposed she couldn't really blame her for trying to assess Alex, but things like that thoroughly bothered her. It was probably because she herself could learn so much more than any other average person about someone from the way they sneezed, but Alex was super paranoid when people looked at her. That's why [on missions especially] she tried to keep up a facade ... although sometimes that got a bit annoying.

Alex perked up her ears in interest as the computer explained the situation. "Networks", huh? That both annoyed and relived Alex at the same time. On one hand she was used to working alone. She hated depending on other people and now she would have to? But then again, that meant that she wouldn't have to worry about every damn thing on a mission. That would be a load off.

Oh, my God, are you sh-tt-ng me? she silently panicked to herself as the first card was read off by the computer. Her eyes widened in the dark room. It wasn't that she had anything to hide, but she hated revealing any information about herself to anyone -- including fellow assassins. What was to stop them to take the information and stab her in the back with it later -- literally? Dear Lord, they were listing all of the weaknesses and everything. This was ridiculous. Why would the CIA think this was necessary? Just some strengths would be fine ... Still, if they were going to tell them the weaknesses of their peers, she might as well make the best of it.

Alex didn't exactly have a photographic memory, but practice made perfect, right? She had been trained to record vast amounts of information before because of her particular field. Sometimes you couldn't carry a tape recorder with you all the time or write stuff down, so she relied on her mind. Still, she had to narrow down what she wanted to remember. Too much superfluous knowledge would become problematic. After memorizing everything about -- Bentley Layton -- she quickly threw out the sections she wouldn't need: name, partner, age, gender, hair color, eye color, height. Those were the things that Alex could figure out later if she absolutely had to. But the other things -- weapons of choice, specialties, strengths and weaknesses -- were super important.

Alex nearly cringed when her card came up, but to her delight she found that she was a solo assassin this time around. At least she wouldn't have to tow around some other idiot. That's cool. And she had to admit that her strengths being reeled off like that made her seem super b-d-ss, so she couldn't complain. Oh, but she was put in the "Dragons" team? Really? She was Asian so she went into the team named "Dragons"? While she didn't seriously think that was the reasoning behind the placement, Alex still jokingly thought to herself, That's ra-aa-aa-aacist.

She took in the mission with interest. It was interesting what sort of assignment the CIA would have for the most elite in their age group. Alex glanced around again at the others in the room and decided that she would have to trust the CIA's intel, because half of the people in here didn't strike her as very "elite".

Oh, says the one with blue hair.

Why. Why was her internal self so cynical and annoying too ... to herself? This was just ridiculous.

Crap, for serious? Alex thought to herself again as the computer announced that all the mission information would be going to "Zero Knight". What did the "Zero" stand for, zero brain cells? She couldn't stand the thought of not knowing what she was getting into ... and someone else knowing everything. It made her feel insecure, vulnerable, and more importantly not in control. Unless Mr. ZBC -- that was her nickname for him now, she decided. The first time they officially spoke she'll refer to him as that and he'll not have the slightest idea what she's talking about -- told the entire group everything about the mission -- which she doubted. She found that a lot of people, even if they did share info, glossed over details they thought weren't important, and Alex just had to know everything so she could judge for herself -- he would be the one holding all the cards! She was quickly losing hope and faith in this group. It seemed like the CIA was seriously concentrating the power in the hands of a few.

After the boy in the front -- Bentley, Alex realized once he turned to show his face -- gave the computer some cheek [this actually annoyed her a bit. She felt like it was just some stupid cry for attention to try and be right], he left, clearly not wanting to stick around for questions. Alex herself stayed in her seat. She didn't have any questions in particular, but she was curious what everyone else would have to say. She was the kind of person that wanted to know everything she could about something before she dived right in. Alex would be the last one to exit the room, that would be for certain, after she made sure no one was going to say anything else.

          E
li's jaw dropped. Before any could notice, he clamped it shut, his eyes turning cold and steely. Flustered by the CIA's tactics, he crossed his arms, pursing his lips. Seriously? A network? Hearing that is like hearing your grandma say 'Poning Noobs." He was slightly giggly by the end of the Female Voice's explanation.

The words squad, elite, CIA, and complex missions swam through his thought process making him a jumbled mess. Just as he was beginning to have a rational thought, he screwed something up with one of those words. For example, he began to think about why the computer said what it said in order. In the middle of a train of thought, the word CIA bounced into view. Now, what Elijah was attempting to think was Why wouldn't the computer tell us about our mission first, and then give us our squads? It kind of distracted us from our mission, looking around for our partners and whatnot. Instead, this train of thought turned into Why didn't the CIA computer tell is our squads and special mission? Wait, what? It did, didn't it? It was a little too early for him.

He watched card after card after card impatiently, awaiting his. Of course, he had to be dead last. That actually suited him just fine. If it meant that others were searching the room for their partners and their team, or enjoying being a solo, he was just good and dandy.

When they listed his partner, he furrowed his eyebrows. What? Who is Adelaide? The boy would figure that out later. Watching the computer argue with Bently, he snickered, but craftily turned it into a cough. It was actually very funny watching the two of them. He did notice Alex looked annoyed in her little corner. Eli looked behind him towards the door, rubbing his eye slightly. It was shut, so he could relax. For now.

Back to his happy-esque self I stead of the one that wanted to strangle people, Eli bounced his foot up and down, so minutely that it was almost impossible to see. Shifting from one side to the other, he scooted back so he was pressed to the back of the chair. Tilting up onto the two back legs, he felt a little bothersome. Gently, Eli eased the chair back to the ground, glancing through the faces to see if anyone had noticed.

Elijah stretched his feet out in front of him, watching the computer screen. Every time it talked, he expected this ugly woman's face to pop up on the screen and scold them all for not being model assassins. The thought made him want to snicker, but he bit his lip and held it back as best as he could. Thankfully, he has much self control.

Eli rubbed the side of his head thoughtfully. "Computer," he called. "Why is everything you tell us classified?" He was annoyed with how true his statement was. He watched the screen, and pictured her response. "And don't you dare tell me it's classified." He wasn't vying for attention, or trying to frustrate anyone, but he wanted to know.

Bree watched the screen, her brows furrowed. She recongized a few of the students but some others were her first time seeing them. She slouched down in her chair a little more as her card came up on the screen. It had some of her most embarassing information in it. It had some of the info about her weakness in it for all the other students to see. The network was interesting, something that she was totally not used to.

A formal event in a mansion at Moscow, that wasn't really her type of thing. She was never really a party person and now she might have to fight in a dress? That would be uncomfortable. She frowned just a little and sighed underneath her breath. As the meeting came to an end she stood from her seat. The info about the mission kept running through her mind as she made her way to the side of the room. Zero was making the plan of retriving the document and then everyone else was putting the plan into action.

She had totally forgotten to wait up for Jake by the time she had made her way over to the elevator and waited patiently behind Bently. Hopefully he was not offended, whenever she got her head into a mission she often forgot some things because she was focusing on the mission and the mission only. She reached back and tightened her ponytail, trying to find something to do as she waited for the elevator to arrive.

Adeline Hitchcock

Adeline stared at the screen, trying to absorb all the information about everyone. The cards flashed quickly, though, she had time only to read each one once; and after a while she gave up and decided to just remember what she could. Some of the names that flashed by she could put to faces she'd seen: Alex was Blue Haired Girl, Bentley was the boy with the apple. Addie cringed as her name and picture flashed on the screen; now everyone would know everything about her, even her weaknesses. The crowd didn't seem to have much of a visible or audible reaction, but she knew at least some of them were judging and comparing. It made her uncomfortable, to say the least. The next card was of her partner, Elijah, who was a sniper, good with guns and such. The reasoning behind that was obvious: he could kill from far away and she could kill from close up.

When the computer reached the information about the party, Adeline's stomach tightened, her fingers closed and opened again, but she forced herself to breath. Fighting in a dress would be awful, as well as embarrassing- she couldn't remeber the last time she a wore a dress, much less faught in one.Of all the missions the assassins could have possibly gone on, this would be the most awkward.

The computer finished, and nervously Addie got up and walked to the elevators, standing behind a girl whose name, if she remembered correctly, was Bree.
