Hello and welcome to your novice role play thread! My name is Shiba and I will be your proctor. Together we will get through this level and get you prepared for your exams and advancement to the next level! *applause*

What do we want to learn in this level?
• We will learn to create in depth characters
• We will learn to create smooth posts with appropriate punctuation and grammar (including quotation marks and the like)

[b]Before we start to role play…
We need some characters! As was preciously mentioned, one of the aims of this level is to teach you to consider every aspect of your character, thus creating a well developed character who has some sustenance to him or her. To begin with this, we at the RP school have created a basic outline that you may expand on (but not subtract from).

Once you’ve created your characters and have had them reviewed and approved by the proctor, you can begin your role play….

Role Play
Okay! You guys have all chosen to do an Animal type role-play, and that is what we will be focusing on. To start you on your role play adventure, I have written up a prompt. Please continue with it, keeping in mind everything that is included in it.


Prompt:

Your paws hit the ground, and your heart beats in time with the thumps of your pads. You look back; they're still after you. I've got to get out of here! You think, and take a sharp turn.
There is coughing all around you; the gas is sliding into your family and friends' throats, and you can't do a thing about it. You breathe in the last of the fresh air, and take a leap off a cliff, going down...Down...Down...

You hit the Earth below you, and get up quickly. You survived the fall, but where are you? You've never seen this place before, but one thought runs through your mind.

I've got to escape.

Gender: Female
Age: 5
What Animal You Are: Siamese cat.
Eye colour: Blue, like sapphires. When she's either really happy or really angry they start to glitter.

Personality: Monika marches to the beat of her own drums. She's bold and independent, yet very loyal to those whom she considers a friend. It's hard to win her trust but very rewarding.
Likes: Blue, daisies, vanilla, gold (the color) and clouds.
Dislikes: Yellow, snakes, red, roses (except for the white kind), and ferrets.
Strengths: Doesn't let other's comments get to her, knows how to mooch of people, a good tree-climber
Weaknesses: Doesn't like hot temperatures, can't swim well, sometimes doesn't know when to say "I'm done insulting you now."
Greatest fear: Finding Notan dead
Greatest wish: To find Notan

Goals in life: To find Notan and reunite with her family...
General Past: Monika was born to a Siamese mother and a tabby cat-tom. She had a brother, Notan, who went missing two years ago. She set off on a quest to find her brother, and hasn't seen her family since.
Past Things They Regret: Leaving her parents
Past Things They Are Happy With: Meh, I need to think on this one too.

Other: Monika was following a possible lead to Notan when she jumped the cliff.

Name: Ace
Gender: Male
Age: Three
What Animal You Are: Fox
Eye colour: Drained out grey eyes. Some people would consider them a Blue-Green color.

Personality: Ace lives in a world of sensation possibilities. He is keenly in tune with the way things look, feel, taste, sound and smell. He appreciates nature and lives his life to protect it all. He has a strong set of values, which he strives to consistently meet in his life.
Likes: He likes most natural things, including; Plants, most smaller animals, the Moon and anything shiny.
Dislikes: He strongly dislikes Rivers and streams, loud noises and creatures that do not treat the natural word with respect.
Strengths: Due to his great processing skills, he is a great strategic thinker and can get himself out of most problems. He is also exceedingly swift and agile.
Weaknesses: It takes awhile for Ace to lose his temper, but when he dose, it clouds his judgement. Often Ace over thinks things and can become easily distracted by his thoughts.
Greatest fear: He is absolutely petrified of Rivers and Streams.
Greatest wish: To meet someone who appreciates nature as much as he dose.

Goals in life: He wants to rid the world of people that do not appreciate the beauty of nature.
General Past: Ace was abandoned near a shallow stream at birth. He must had been the runt of the litter, considering his size. A Vixen that had not managed to bear any cubs, came across Ace. She took pity on the scrawny little cub and raised him as her own. When Ace turned one, he was confronted by a stray dog. He looked to his 'mother' for help, but she had already fled from the forest. Ace had to do this alone. Ace gracefully leaped into the air, his front legs outstretched as he dived towards the dogs head. But he would have been safer if he had ran. The dog overpowered him, pinning him to the ground. Its fangs snapping just a hair's withe away from Ace's throat. Before the dog could snap Ace's neck, a loud clash of lightning hit a nearby tree. The dog's attention turned to the fire that was eating away at the tree's bark. Ace took his chance and used it wisely, latching his jaw onto the dog's ear. The dog yelped, taken of guard, and half leaped backwards. Ace turned and ran, grateful that he had got to live another day. The unexpected storm must had been nature trying to protect him, well atleast that is what he thought. In return he vowed to protect nature. A couple of weeks after the fight with the dog, Ace found a small group of foxes, they weren't hostile in any way and he joined their cosy little 'family'.
Past Things They Regret: He regrets not looking for the Vixen that took him in.
Past Things They Are Happy With: He was happy that he had experienced the fight with the dog, otherwise he would not have known that nature was protecting him.
Other:
It was Ace's turn to gather some food, since he had been avoiding this job all month. He was near a riverbank when the screaming erupted. 'Help! They are after us!' The voices shrieked, one of witch he recognized as his close friend's. He returned to camp, only to find that the whole place was in ruins. Everyone was coughing and spluttering, but still trying desperately to escape. 'Run...Hurry!' He friend yelped between coughs. Ace didn't want to leave his closest friend, but knew that the more that escaped the better. He turned on his heels and sprinted away, there was nowhere to run... Whatever was after him was going to catch him! His eyes widened with panic as he came to the edge of a cliff, he took one glance behind him... Then jumped.

Name: Max (Short for Maximum)
Gender: Female
Age: In human years, about seven years old.
What Animal You Are: Snowy Owl
Eye colour: Black shimmery pupils speckled with white flecks slowly melt out into an icy, but somehow warm, blue.

Personality: Maximum is sort of a leader, but wishes she could be a follower (when she is playing the role as the leader). This unusual Snowy Owl honors rules and laws and will try to uphold them, but she may bend or break them if it is absolutely necessary. She's usually shy, and doesn't talk much, but thinks critically. When it comes to her friends and family, she will do anything to secure their well-being. If somebody hurts her or someone close to her in any way, she won't care about the damage that could be done and do anything in her power to get revenge.
Likes: A plan, some type of order, flying at night.
Dislikes: The sun and what she calls "Unnatural" (Man-made) weapons.
Strengths: Flying, fighting, lying, and planning.
Weaknesses: Possibly mortality (In other words, she can’t bear any blood or death unless she inflicted it intentionally in one of her psychotic rages).
Greatest fear: That the Leader will find her and capture her.
Greatest wish: To be rid of this awful past and the people in it.

Goals in life: Find out who the Leader is, what he wants, and other things, and somehow make sure that the lab can never run again.
General Past: Maximum was born in a lab. The very first memory she has is of a bloodthirsty human looking down on her with murder etched across his face, and gray eyes that sparkled like gold. She also remembers scratching that horrid face, and learning that that was the Leader, who for some reason was interested in her from the very start. A guard had told her that, and his partner, who was the one standing by her cage, also told her that she would have to pay. Big-time.
The next day, she was bundled up in a blanket and taken to a room that had very small cat crates in it. She was shoved into one, and then taken outside of the room and into a room that, her guard friends said, was called the Testing Room. Then, a scientist by the codename of Pluto made her fly, and do all sorts of things in rapid succession. When she was going to slow, or doing it wrong, she would get either zapped by thirty volts of electricity or jabbed with a very hot metal poker.
Max eventually was let out of the testing room, tired and almost fried. She flopped down on the plastic bottom of her cage and had a pitiful sleep, until the morning, when she was awoken by the Leader, who, for some reason, had only concern on his face. He whispered, “Oh, Maximum, what did he do to you? It’s all right-by this time tomorrow, this will all be over, and you’ll be free forever, to roam in your new world.”
Max looked up, startled at his face. Her mind, however young, instantly twisted that to mean, ‘You’ll be dead by this time tomorrow.’ Oh, no.
She escaped that morning by wearing down the back wall of her cage and then ramming into it. Then, she flew into the dawn sky, free as, well, a bird. She has been to many countries, including Australia, Papua New Guinea, and India.
Many months passed, and eventually Max grew suspicious of the Leader and the lab. Why weren’t they after her? After all, the Leader had liked her, or so she had thought. And why would they kill her if the Leader had been interested in her? Was she no more than a petty science experiment?
Just as Max had thought those very words, people with guns crashed through the underbrush beside her. They must’ve been looking for her, because they started to shoot at her. Luckily, Max realized the danger and escaped with only a slightly injured tail.
The next day, wary and tired, she ended up in the United States of America. Alaska, to be exact. She liked it there. It was cold and very nice in the tundra. While she was on her mini-vacation without any evil people, she met a housecat by the name of Chime. Chime hated her owners, because she complained that they never let her hunt and didn't feed her enough. But she decided, after looking at Max's talons, to go with her.
The next few weeks, people and high-tech robots had been following the duo, trying to bring Max back to the lab. They tried everything from Tasers to nets to capture them. Max was flying away, and Chime running away, from the henchmen in an erratic and long path in the woods in Ohio one night. The evil guys had gassed the whole forest, and Chime eventually slowed to a walk, and then collapsed. Max whispered in her ear a song she had learned from the native folk of India....until she saw Chime's life end at the stroke of midnight. Then, blinded by grief and twisted with pain, Max had to leave her only friend and walk into the gaping jaws of death that the henchmen created. She almost noticed when she took a breath of fresh air, the air that saved her life, and then, to sum it all up, she fell off a cliff, and landed into the untainted air and the world beyond.


Past Things They Regret: Staying for the testing with Pluto.

Sorry, I've got to review your forms first. X)

Names are very important. And when you make them unusual in it's spelling, it doesn't sound like a "Mary-Sue/Gary-Sue" name at all. This is what you all need to aim for; a name that doesn't make you think, "Oh god, how original." So you all did good in that part. ;3

But I'm the Proctor here...And I guess I should point out the things that need improving rather than the already good points.
First off, I guess this goes for all of you, the parts about finding your siblings/family is a tad over-used. I realise there might not've been anything else that popped into your mind, but I'm just letting you know for next time!
I remember that there was this one RP that I was in, and almost all of the members had lost one of their family members/friend. Goes to show how much it's used, no?

But all in all, you all did a very, impressingly good job. Slight spelling errors in some of your words, but it all fell together in the end. You're all accepted, so let the posting begin!

Monika landed, thankfully, on her feet. She was scared, and kept looking around, afraid she would be attacked by something or another. Her racing heart told her to get out of this area, but something else told her she'd be fine. Her gut instincts, maybe? "What do I do, where do I go?" she asked herself. Looking up, she saw some of the smoke was starting to drift away from the cliff. Monika turned around to face a woodsy area, and cautiously padded towards it, hoping there would be someone friendly there.
When she reached the first tree in this wooded area, everything seemed to get darker. She blinked once or twice more before she made her way deeper into the forest. "Hello?" she called out. Birds chirped...trees loomed...Monika was scared.

You sure can edit your form if you like! I'm looking forward to reading her new history. ^^
