~*( Death in Utopia )*~

How would it feel, to be able to wake up and not have to worry about the daily worries? Not have to worry about pain, fear, anguish, disease, hatred, death? All that fills your day are the emotions of ecstasy, joy, peace, contempt, freedom? Especially freedom...

For you see, freedom is a concept so big, so vague and massive, that mere humans cannot understand it to its fullest potential. And thus, humans fear freedom and yet chase after their idea of what this concept is. We can all see what that has led to. War. A massive wave of psychotic killers. A global increase of terrorizing and destructive weapons. More and more people getting away with heinous crimes.

Where is the peace we so deserve? So many broken hearts stranded at the side of the road or in their homes. So many innocent children with hungry bellies. Too many people being punished for a fate they did not deserve because of injustice that riddles our streets and governments.

But there is a solution. A world-wide game. But only a handful of people who have the purest, most vigilant souls are allowed to play. One can say that in of itself, this game is a war. An end to the conflict between the holy Virtues and the dreaded Sins...

The story is quite a simple concept. The Virtues defeat the Vices (Sins), and go on to save the day. But this is merely a game. Yes, just a game. Their prize? Well, you'll have to find out what their prize is. As for the pawns, here is what you need to know:

~Chastity~
The practice of courtly love and romantic friendship and abstinence.
Cleanliness through cultivated good health and hygiene, and maintained by refraining from intoxicants.
To be honest with oneself, one's family, one's friends, and to all of humanity.
Embracing of moral wholesomeness and achieving purity of thought-through education and betterment.
The ability to refrain from being distracted and influenced by hostility, temptation or corruption.

~Temperance~
Restraint, temperance, justice.
Constant mindfulness of others and one's surroundings; practicing self-control, abstention, moderation, zero-sum and deferred gratification.
Prudence to judge between actions with regard to appropriate actions at a given time.
Proper moderation between self-interest, versus public-interest, and against the rights and needs of others.

~Charity~
Generosity, charity, self-sacrifice; the term should not be confused with the more restricted modern use of the word charity to mean benevolent giving.
Love, in the sense of an unlimited loving kindness towards all others, is held to be the ultimate perfection of the human spirit, because it is said to both glorify and reflect the nature of God.
Such love is self-sacrificial.
Confusion can arise from the multiple meanings of the English word "love".
The love that is "caritas" is distinguished by its origin – being divinely infused into the soul – and by its residing in the will rather than emotions, regardless of what emotions it stirs up.
This love is necessary for salvation, and with it no one can be lost.

~Diligence~
A zealous and careful nature in one's actions and work; decisive work ethic, steadfastness in belief, fortitude, and the capability of not giving up.
Budgeting one's time; monitoring one's own activities to guard against laziness.
Upholding one's convictions at all times, especially when no one else is watching.

~Patience~
Forbearance and endurance through moderation.
Resolving conflicts and injustice peacefully, as opposed to resorting to violence.
Accepting the grace to forgive; to show mercy to sinners.
Creating a sense of peaceful stability and community rather than suffering, hostility, and antagonism.

~Kindness~
Charity, compassion and friendship for its own sake.
Empathy and trust without prejudice or resentment.
Unselfish love and voluntary kindness without bias or spite.
Having positive outlooks and cheerful demeanor; to inspire kindness in others.

~Humility~
Modest behavior, selflessness, and the giving of respect.
Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less.
It is a spirit of self-examination; a hermeneutic of suspicion toward yourself and charity toward people you disagree with.
The courage of the heart necessary to undertake tasks which are difficult, tedious or unglamorous, and to graciously accept the sacrifices involved.
Reverence for those who have wisdom and those who selflessly teach in love.
Giving credit where credit is due; not unfairly glorifying one's own self.
Being faithful to promises, no matter how big or small they may be.
Refraining from despair and the ability to confront fear and uncertainty, or intimidation.

(Note: The order that the Vices are listed in are from youngest to oldest. They are not in the order of strongest to weakest or vice versa. And while it will appear here that each of these Sins have no personality, that is far from the truth. They while be revealed in due time.)

~Lust~
The youngest of the Vices and thus the most pampered.

~Envy~
The second youngest Vice and the twin brother of Greed, of whom he is jealous of.

~Greed~
The third youngest Vice and the twin brother of Envy, of whom he doesn't really take that much note of.

~Sloth~
The middle "child" of the Vices, but is the most innocent of them all.

~Gluttony~
The third oldest Vice, who is extremely protective of Sloth.
Almost to a fault.

~Wrath~
The second oldest Vice and the oldest child of Pride.
Like how Gluttony is protective of Sloth, Wrath is incredibly protective of Lust.
Except for Wrath, he is protective to a fault.

~Pride~
The oldest Vice and the father of the younger six.
The direct son of Lucifer, he was born almost immediately after Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden.

Even a game such as this needs a guide to help the pawns through their trials. Levin will not only help the newly accepted and thoroughly confused Virtues in the game they had entered, but he will keep a record of all the different events for you, the viewer. Come now, don't be so shy. Let this lone man help you in your times of troubles. And he will also let you know if you are free to tell him of what this game means to you. Don't be afraid to voice your opinion. He won't make fun or you, I promise.

Now, you must know one thing. As a viewer, there will be sudden changes in the environment. Meaning, as you watch the Virtues on their arduous trek to defeat the Vices, they will enter different dimensions. Dimensions that are modified and designed to the specifications of each Vice. Do not be alarmed. Each event of this game will have the name of the dimension at the top of the scroll. This scroll will have a detailed analysis of each place and the Vice it is accumulated to.

(Note: This is in the same order that the Vices were listed in. This is not, I repeat, not in the order that the Virtues are going to travel in.)

~Limbus~
This realm is somewhat like Limbo or Purgatory.
A barren wasteland with nothing on the horizon.
Just black obscuring whatever could have been there.
Much like a black blanket that has been dropped around one's self with about a 20 ft. diameter of visibility.
The ground is a dull, icy blue with a blackened mist rising from it and covering its matrix in a thick, black, mucky smog.
In a ring, there are six arches with intricate runes on them that only Levin, the game's guide, can read.
But until he does, the arches remain silent and dormant.

~Luxuria~
The world of Lust.
A lush, green forest filled with animals and creatures that all get along quite nicely.
There is no death in this world.
Only when the Maiden herself is hungry, should there be death.
The forest is endless, for it is her world.

~Invidia~
The world of Envy.
A grand casino towers to the heavens in this place, much like the Tower of Babylon.
Surrounding the said structure is Invidia itself.
A poisonous fog emanates straight up from the black and sickly green swamp.
Even the trees have been rotted down to basically nothing but bare bones.
Nothing can survive long in Invidia, but once you reach the casino, you'll never want to leave...

~Avaritia~
The world of Greed.
This world is quite confusing.
Here, everything you wish for comes true.
It is quite easy to be separated in Avaritia because the world changes according to your heart of hearts.
If you wish for a world that contains your idea of peace, it shall be done as soon as you step foot on its soil.
You want a world filled with nothing but music?
Not a problem.
But once you get past the illusion, Avaritia is actually just a whirlwind with several stone platforms.
Here, you can fly, but you must be careful.
One wrong move and there is a chance one can die.

~Acedia~
The world of Sloth.
An incredibly hot and humid jungle.
There is hardly a single second that goes by without the fear of passing out from the heat.
While the sun does not show itself through the thick canopy above, the said cover traps the heat and the water of the hearth below evaporates at a slow rate, making you feel like you're either suffocating or drowning.
Here, it is almost impossible to find Sloth.
Not unless you can escape the torpor grasp Acedia slowly wraps you in.

~Gula~
The world of Gluttony.
WIP

~Ira~
The world of Wrath.
Ira is a frightful place indeed.
The stuff of nightmares that haunt even demons.
No sane, or insane, creature would ever wish to step foot in this place.
The ground is nothing but magma and hot coals.
Occasionally, there will be a black wall with chains and hanging there will be the unfortunate souls who either stumbled into this place or got on Wrath's nerves (which doesn't take much).
The sky itself burns.
If one were to look up, they would see nothing but black.
But slowly looking down, they would see that the darkness degrades into a bloody and fiery red.
Wrath is arrogant, and thus believes that he doesn't need to hide himself.
You can find him by looking for an absurdly large, obsidian throne with gruesome looking spikes adorning the crown.

~Superbia~
The world of Pride.
Superbia is...interesting.
Brilliant water crystals that shimmer green, blue, purple, red, and white line the ground, the walls, the ceiling...
A thin membrane of running, clear water lines the crystals, keeping them forever preserved.
To be honest, there is nothing much to Pride's dimension.
But there is something like a plateau in the back of the arena-like area.
Stairs are cut into the large, beryl shaped crystal, leading to the top of the plateau.
Resting on the top is a coffin made of water crystals.
But who is in it, no one can clearly say...
