I saw this and immediately thought Whelkon. Oh, but I see there are subtle differences, such as the antlers being smaller, the muzzle being abit shorter and stouter, the tail not as bushy and large, and paws instead of hooves. But still so strikingly similar...
And then the colors too... I first thought you were doing something special for these Whelkon:



That was just at a glance though. Under closer inspection the colors are in fact different, but the patterning still seems basically the same....

A species of wolf that lives in the mountian, hm... Did you know that here it says

These creatures are a very old species of wolves

about the Whelkon?

It all seems too similar to me. When the creator of the Whelkon, Wing Song, gets back you need to have a talk with him/her about this, as this looks to me like you basically stole his/her idea.

Okay then. That's what you may think, but I can assure you I was trying NOT to make it close to the Whelkon in any way.

I had an idea in my head, and I drew it. If it does seem like the Whelkon in any way to you, then I can surely say I was NOT trying to steal Wind Song's idea in any way! I would never dream of doing such a thing.


But if Wind Song does think this is too much like the Whelkon, then, My Apologies. I'll shut down the adoptable or alter the design completely.

Well, I do agree, simularities are there. But still, it's very different. Fox, you got subconsciously inspired. It's happened to me. After about a year of not watching full metal alchemist. I found a white dog, big and fluffy. I named him Alexander. Now that I watch FMA again, I realize my subconscious knew it looked like FMA's dog Alexander

It is VERY simillar. I mean, the anatomy and markings, even the antlers an white fur on the feet and underbelly.
I feel so bad telling someone to shut something down they worked so hard on an it could be that you were simply inspired but.. I feel a bit cheated D:

How about just edit the lineart. I can help. Sadly, I can't help draw. But I can help make it way different. Also, I don't see the underbelly or the anatomy other then the similarity to a wolf like build. But many breeds have that. Also, all colors should be irrelevant. But markings could be changed

Hmm yeah.
It's just that Fox... you're not some stranger that I could accuse just like that,
you've been such a close friend and have done so much for the Whelkon.. but its exactly that, that makes it resemble the Whelkon so much.
I don't think you should shut it down, as much as I feel annoyed, it does seem as a mere inspiration. Its still your own species but I would feel a lot better if you could edit it a little. Its just even the style of the markings and color tones you used are so simillar, and how its a wolf with antlers who also has little decorations on it, like the Whelkon... if you could edit these things just to make it more your own I would be a lot happier ^^
I can see what you were trying to achieve and its a nice idea so now worries, we'll sort something out and I hope these adoptables do well :3
Just tell me your new ideas and I hope you can develop them to be more original and so I dont feel a little tug at my heart when I look at them :B

I'nm sorry Wind Song. I've got some new ideas sorted, and Doctor Who has suggested some:

The tail, I suggest more wolf like, so aka, thinner and less fluffy or equine like. With hair that pools on the floor. The horns could be more like a deers and not anything else. Also, the markings, maybe more fawn like or tiger like, more curved

I'm truly sorry all this has happened, and I hope it can be all fixed up.
