OOC: Ok..I'm going to start with 3rd person because i'm used to that, but i can do first person..if thats what the others want

Jay ran through the rain barefoot from the river, her rough feet not feeling a thing as they have grown used to the rocky terrain. She was already late to her morning shift at the diner and she was about a mile away, but coming in fast. She looked up, hoping she could see any rays of sunlight for any way of finding out the time and how late she was, but the deep dark gray clouds were like a barrier sucking them in. She grunted in frustration. Her legs were pumping as were her arms as she reached the diner. A few gruff men were outside as usual and Jay hurled herself through the back door into a busy kitchen. She was soaking wet so wringed out her hair into the sink and dried herself off with nearby towels and rags. Her mother appeared in front of her with many plates and cups that were full(man was her mother talented, natural waitress) and plastered on her face was a very angry face. Jay sighed, took half the plates and cups, and delived them to the tables.

In the distance was a small figure. Trudging on with struggle, a twist of fate had come upon her. As she was left in this land, lost. As she watches each step she takes. Weary of any vast, or vile thing to happen. She does, however. Almost take liking in this new adventure, the Lich was a bit quiet lately. Which added onto the pressure, knowing something was up with him.

With a whip of her wrist, a burning ember emerged from her finger tips. Soon growing into a full fledged fire. She pauses a moment, to stare at its wonderful movement. Red Ace smiles softly, clutching the flame tightly in the palm of her hand. From a sudden sound of something, the woman reacts hastily, and without thought. She stares around coldly. A speck of fear, with anger glowing in her eyes. Red Ace hisses softly, but her alertness still full fledged.

Jay thought she saw fire outside the window. Dragons..?! She freaked out, delivered a few more orders and peered out the window for a better look and all she saw was a woman, looking around the age of 25. She looked at her top alert, like something spooked her. Jay thought she would check on her to make sure she was okay, which she did.

She walked up to her with a warm cup of coffee, not realizing how tall she was, having to pull her head back quite aways to see the shadow in the hood with short curly hair sticking out. "Are you ok? Would you like some coffee?"

She smiled softly, letting out a short laugh to herself. Knowing probably that it was just her imagination, and there was nothing to fear at all. From being startled a bit, she glances around once more. Her brisk red eyes landing on what seems to be a child running towards her. A scoff comes from her, as she clamps her hands together. The fire snuffing out of sight, into a black smoke that drifted away.

Red Ace looks down at Jay, she turned her head to the side a little bit. Staring down at what she was holding in her hands. From a moment of silence, Red Ace replies softly. Putting her hand in the air, and bowing a bit lower towards the short lady. "Why hello there! I thought there was not a soul in sight. Can I ask you though, where are we?" Her red eyes shine softly. Staring at Jay with intent on getting an answer. "And why the 'ell are out here in the middle of a field with coffee?"

Faye clutched her new book to her chest as she attempted to drive out the cold surrounding her. She should of known better than to walk about in the rain sporting only a red scarf for protection from the cold. Even so she probably shouldn't of taken the "short cut" the man outside the library told her about. The water had plastered her light blond hair to her face and leaving it trailing down her back stringy and dripping. Though in a way she felt rebellious. Like she was playing against the rules for not behaving like a normal person might have during a downpour. It caused a small smile to spread across her face knowing such.

She glanced at the heavy book in her arms. Faye knew it would disappoint her father let alone her teachers at school. They had all tried to convince Faye to take interest in her studies. But it was for naught. She blew them off and instead busied herself with myths and fables. Old ones too. The ones that tugged at her imagination the most though were ones about dragons.

Faye loved dragons. They fascinated her to no end. Red ones, blue ones, green ones, ones that breathed fire, and flew! It was simply overwhelming. This particular book Faye had came from the dark, dank cellar of the library. Smashed up against a few old, thick world atlases and dictionary, Faye had unearthed a huge book filled with legends about dragons. This one, she knew, was different than all the other she had ever laid eyes on. Previous ones had spoken about simple facts about dragons, or different species. This one, now this one spoke of people and dragons. Ones that trained dragons to do their bidding in war, and the like. Faye had never felt this excited about any book. She clutched it harder.

Up ahead she saw a spark of flames. No...it can't be. Or could it? Faye's heart started pounding in her chest. She knew she had to find out the source of those flames. Quickly, she gathered her skirts and ran towards the source of the fire.

"Well the diner is just across the field," She pointed to the diner just about ten meters off, "And I thought I saw fire. I got scared because of the dragon sightings so I wanted to make sure everything was alright as I saw a woman, you, standing out here in the cold. So I brought you this coffee." She said, her sparkling, sky blue eyes stared deep into the fire red eyes. She pulled the pieces together, the eyes were too surreal to be true, "You made the fire, didn't you?"

Red Ace smiles softly, tapping her chin in thought for a moment. Her red eyes returning to Jay "So you mean there are humans near by? People to be exact? Wonderful." She scoffs, shaking her head in a disagreeing fashion. She looks at the girl, a frown appearing on her face. "Why of course I did. Now didn't your parents tell you to stay away from strangers? I could be dangerous." She whispers, grinning with an odd look on her face. She looks out into the field a moment, her eyes catching what seems to be another figure running towards her.

She claps her hands together, returning her gaze to Jay. "And I thought nothing could get worse. Do you know that person?" Red Ace mutters sourly, crossing her arms together once more.

Jay glanced skeptically at Red Ace, taking all of her words into thought. "Yes, in fact I do know her." She said, remembering the girl with the blouses and long skirts. Jay's seen her a few times around town. "That's Faye. She has two younger brothers and her mother just recently died. She's not the most outgoing so you might only get a quick hello out of her when you walk by. She has the mother's talent of a sharp-tongue though. I always see her setting her brothers straight. I don't talk to her much though so what would I know." She shrugged. The rain stopped and she remembered the coffee. Jay looked into the coffee water, "Sorry..."

Faye squinted her eyes to get a closer look at the figures she was quickly approaching. There was a slight feeling of disappointment in her chest after realizing what the source of the burst of flames. Oh well, it was highly unlikely any way. Faye's memory sparked as she studied the first of the two girls. She knew the one with the darker complexion, Jay, who worked at the diner. Faye had run into her a few times around town but never exchanged more than a few words with each other. This was fine with Faye, she believed herself to not be terribly social. Her friends picked on her for it, the few that she did have.

She glanced at the taller woman next to Jay whom she did not know at all. This woman had fire red hair and wore a long red robe. Faye inferred that she was the source of the flames. Possibly. Something about this woman made her slightly wary. If she is the source of the fire...But, how? A lighter? No, too small. Faye's mind reeled with questions that made her want to know more and more.

By now Faye was in front of Jay and the other woman. She was breathing hard from the running. Though Faye was soaked she was also slightly, every so slightly, warmer than she had been. Her face stung from her hair whipping her in the face during her run.

Faye adjusted her scarf and almost dropped her heavy book in the process. She stumbled to pick it up and looked sheepishly at the people before her as she slowly stood,"Hello," she mumbled, "I hope I'm not intruding."
