Moonshade just stood with wide eyes for a moment, a little surprised at Spiderfrosts' appearance. She blinked, starting to smile when she noticed Sectegrudge looked a little better, but it faded when her medicine cat spoke so coldly to her. She swallowed hard, her words almost physically hurting. When she had left, the dark deputy looked down, ears drooping and tail down; the moment completely gone for her.
Her eyes held awkwardness, hurt and sadness. She took a step back and murmured, "She's right. I was stupid to think I.." she trailed off as her voice cracked. ...stupid to think I would ever have a family. All her dreams washed down the drain the moment she was appointed as deputy.

Something that was completely foreign to Secretgrudge happened then. His chest rumbled with a low chuckle, the looked down at Moonshade, his haunting yellow eyes softer than ever.

"What she means is I shouldn't do anything that could ruin your chances of being forced to give up your possession as the next leader." the tom murmured to Moonshade. Over the moons he had gotten use to Spiderfrost cold attitude and has become able to notice the little hints in her personality that showed her awkward kindness.

"She really doesnt care for a lot of our clan mates, but she just reprimanded me for your good."

Moonshade looked away. "We won't have kits. We can't. And that was what I had wanted. But I can't." She sighed and blinked. "I understand what she said. I'm not saying I'm not grateful. It's just sad... for me." She looked up slowly, gazing at his face, now heartbroken from the truth.

A mischievous look passed Secretgrudges features.

"She only said i couldnt ruin your chances of being leader...but that time is a long ways away. Kit will be born much sooner than you become leader."

Moonshade saw that look on Secretgrudge's face. She swallowed as her eyes fluttered and straightened, feeling a little nervous suddenly. She pulled back a little and stared at the tom she loved. Her graceful face was filled with a mix of too many emotions. "Secretgrude..." she whispered in awe. "You... really want-" she broke off, confused at how he was so eager.

The toms look faltered and he stood up straighter and shook his head.

"I dont care whether i have any or not. I apologize for making you nervous." he said and flicked the tip of his tail over her ears as he started to walk off.

"I'm not going to push you into anything when you are an important figure in the clan, so lets head back before they send out a search patrol."

Sagepaw stared in horror as thumping hooves came her way. The mother and kit-baby were charging at her. Sagepaw let out a yowl of horror. "Help!" She yowled again. She didn't see Secretgrudge or Moonshade anywhere. "Help!" She yowled again. No one answered. Sagepaw looked back in horror to see the mother staring coldly at her with fierce desperation. They had scared the beast, but it had seen her, and came at her. The mother had caught up to the she-cat, and before Sagepaw could turn, pain filled her body. The mother had trampled her tail, and was rearing to kick her. "HELP!" She yowled one last time before being flung back at least four fox-lengths. Sagepaw landed akwardly on her back, and lay there limp. She heard the hooves pass her deeper into the plains, and soon, her vision was fading. She strained her voice one last time, to yowl louder than she had before. Then, she was silent. Still. Everything...was black.

[yup! and now a little of Spiderfrosts' past has been revealed. I need to hurry up an get her to tell Eaglesong the rest.

Secretgrudge turned away from the deputy just then when peircing screeched asking for help filled the air. He growled remembering they were unable to find Sagepaw before.

"Sagepaw!" he yowled and darted off towards the direction of the calls for help. He found the battered she-cat and crouched down to see her condition. He sniffed her, hoping she was still alive. He nodded to see she still breathed, however weak it was. He turned to the cause of her panic to be the giant four legged mother creature he and Moonshade had scared off. He roared a battle cry and leaped onto the creature.

Sagepaw opened her eyes, to see Secretgrudge running to her side, but when she watched him, he didn't run to her, he ran to her..body!? She was seeing her limp body lying there! Shocked, Sagepaw looked at her paws and saw them a ghostly color, almost see through. Was she dead?! She couldn't be! She had unborn kits! Sighing, Sagepaw looked at her body pitifully, but stared in horror as Secretgrudge dashed off towards the beast, and attacked it. "NO!" She yowled, but no one could hear her. Sagepaw started to try to run towards Secretgrudge, but found her self floating. She had to be dead. Dead or not, she would help her friend, no matter how bad the situation or personality. The thought of all her kits dead made her stop in her tracks. She never got to be a mother. Never would be able to love again. Never see what clan life is really like. Never a chance to find out what her warrior name would be. To become an elder and tell stories to younger kits. Sagepaw wanted to ball out crying, but she couldn't. Secretgrudge needed her support. With one last glance at her body, she noticed that she was still breathing feebly. How was that possible? Sagepaw shook her head and ran towards the Beast and Secretgrudge. Sagepaw landed on the ground and sliced at the beast's leg, but nothing happened except her paw going through its leg. Sagepaw flattened her ears in shock. Now all she could do was to whisper encouragement in his ear. "Come on Secretgrudge! GIve him everything you got!" She yowled in her ear.

{Sagepaw's knowcked out, so..I'm doing it from her ghostly impression. BooOOoo! lol She's not dead though..and Eaglesong's my charrie.. O.o}
