Simon James Truen
Simon scoffed, his eyes rolling towards the sky. Of course, she was one of those people who still had hope, who still thought they mattered. Simon had lost that mindset long ago, and did not plan on regaining it any time soon. What was the point, really, of pretending? Of living in a fantasy land where their lives still mattered, and in which they might have a way of escaping? The truth of the matter was, Simon had thought of many different scenarios, and they all ended in a similar, painful way. Sure, this girl standing in front of him with a smile playing over her small lips was right. They couldn't do too much to them, because they were too important apparently, but they could still hurt them. And Simon certainly did not want that to happen. He swallowed at the thought, and a shiver went through his body.
Almost as if on cue, a cold, very chilling breeze passed by the two of them, and the atmosphere in the air abruptly turned noticeably tense. A muscle in Simon's jaw jumped in anger - usually he could control himself better. Swallowing and shaking his head to rid it of the depressing thoughts, he looked at Solange, looking right into her eyes. He could feel, for lack of a better word, a building excitement inside of her. When he opened his mouth to ask her what she was about to do, all of a sudden she had placed a swift kiss on his cheek, and then he was gone. He looked up in surprise, his mouth gaping in shock, before coming to the realization that she was on the other side of the area. By the time he realized where she was, she was whipping her leg around, smacking it into the thigh of one of the guards. With a grunt, he fell forward, just as the one behind Simon called out in surprise himelf.
"Look what you've done now," Simon said, his eyes widening as his own guard approached him. He began to back away, but suddenly found Solange at his back, grabbing onto his arm and preventing him from moving. "What ever you're about to do, don't even think-" he began, but was cut off when he suddenly found himself being tugged into oblivion. He had no other way to describe it, really, for one second he was in one place, and the next he was in another. He hadn't even had enough time to blink his eyes before she was grabbing onto him again, and he felt himself himself disappearing alongside her once more.
When they finally stopped again, and Solange had dropped to her knees, Simon swallowed and loooked around in shock. "Did you-did we...Wow," he breathed, his heart hammering inside his chest. He had experienced a lot of things in his life, but this had been something different.
Suddenly, however, as if in a rush, Simon could feel the desperation, exhileration, and lack of energy rolling off of her like waves. He grimanced, and had to refrain from wincing. Sometimes, his abilities were a curse; whenever a person was feeling very strong emotions, he noticed them whether meaning to or not. Glancing around hurriedly, Simon checked to make sure they were alone and safe, before crouching down beside her. "Er, are you all right?" he said, unsure of how to help her. He was terrible with this kind of stuff, really. He could try to help her calm a little, but didn't feel it was right to make others feel something without their permission.
