Emerald closed her eyes and turned over so that she was facing Frank, cuddling into his arms and feeling a little better. "It's okay." she said softly. "I love you, Frank." she whispered, starting to fall asleep.

As the sun rose so did Kyle with a hard face far beyond his age. He left his room and walked to the torrent and knocked on the door of Arowin's room. "Come in." a voice called out to him as he pushed aside the door. "I want to do it!" he said looking around for Arowin and finally spotted her behind a desk looking over maps.

Arowin looked up and nodded. "Alright, come here." she said motioning him over to the desk where she had maps of the castle speed out. "We need someone on the inside if we want to get into the castle." she said looking up at his face. "We need you." she said and pushed the map towards him. She watched him study it and started pointing towards a place circled on the map. "This is a door where we plan to enter through, it's forgotten about by most of the palace staff but it can only be opened from the inside." she said.

Emerald blinked her eyes open, frowning. She didn't feel at all rested, but her mind was already busy thinking. A glance over at Frank revealed him to be still sleeping, so Emerald gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek before crawling out of bed. She slipped out of her shirt and put on a forest green dress, along with a pair of boots and a brown leather belt, one without her swords and daggers. It wasn't often that she wore a normal dress, but she felt like wearing one today. Maybe so she could pretend that she wasn't leader of the Hood for a few moments, so she could feel like a normal person. That feeling didn't last long though, and after putting her hair into a braid, Emerald walked downstairs. So far, nobody else seemed to be awake, but Emerald wished Kyle would wake up soon. She wanted to speak with him. But then she found the Huntsman. Emerald found him in the kitchen, looking through all the cabinets and snooping around the kitchen. "What do you think you're doing?" Emerald demanded to know, hands on her hips. "I was looking for some ale." he replied, closing a cabinet and standing straight. "We don't drink before lunch time." she informed him, looking for the coffee grounds. "I do." he said. "Where's the ale?" Emerald looked over her shoulder at him, eyes narrowed slightly. "I don't have many rules, Huntsman, but one of them is that we don't drink ale before lunch time. As long as you stay under my roof and with my gang, you will follow my rules." "I follow my own rules." The Huntsman snapped back.

At the sounds of raised voices Arowin sighed and rolled the maps up and gave them to Kyle. "Go get dressed in the best you have, we will talk to Emerald in a second." she said sending him off again before she two went down the stairs herself. From the sounds of it, it seemed that Emerald and The Huntsman where in the Kitchen. She pushed open the door and walked inside sitting down on a table and reaching into a cabinet above her head and tossed the jar to Emerald. "Good morning you two." she said taking them both in. "You really shouldn't be drinking before lunch Huntsmen, clouds your judgment for the rest of the day." she said and shook her head. Her brother used to be a heavy drinker but most men in the village were. Arowin herself didn't drink at all, no alcohol unlike the rest of the hood who she knew could empty out the cellars if they had the time.

When Arrowin spoke both of them turned around, a little surprised. They hadn't even notice her walk in. Emerald caught the coffee grounds and started to boil a pot of water. "Good morning." Emerald greeted with a smile. She then glanced over at the Huntsman, who said, "You're right about that. I guess I shouldn't." And then he obediently sat down at the kitchen table, much to Emerald's surprise. "Well at least you listen to one of us." she muttered.

Arowin raised an eyebrow at Emerald's comment and tilted her head slightly and then laughed. "Easy Emerald." she said going through the cupboards above her head. "There isn't much for breakfast this morning, I am going to go hunt wild boar and see if the baker has any bread left." Arowin said closing the small wooden doors and popped off the table. Things were going to change from now on. Death was don't the end, just a way out of John's clutches. "Oh by the way Em, Kyle is going to the castle. He has decided." she said and then paused at the door hesitating a second. "Anyone want to come with? I am dropping Kyle off and I will need help with the boar." she said glancing from Emerald to The Huntsman.

Emerald nodded as Arrowin spoke, pouring the boiling water over the coffee grounds and watching as coffee poured into her mug. She added a few teaspoons of sugar and then took a sip. Had no milk, but it would have to do for now. When Arrowin informed her of Kyle's decision, her eyes went wide and she wheeled around to face Arrowin. "He's leaving today?" She bit her lip, frowning. She knew this day would come eventually, but now that it was here she almost didn't want it to. Kyle would be in more danger at the castle than he was with them. Someone who wanted the throne when John died could kill him, or the king himself might reject the boy. But no, she mustn't think of such things. He would be fine. Emerald looked up at Arrowin and nodded. "I'll come. Let me go get my cloak, and I'll let Frank know we're going."

The Huntsman just watched the two, expression blank. He didn't have a clue as to what they were talking about, or why Emerald seemed upset by the news. But whatever, it was none of his business. He'd leave them to their own devices. "I'll come too. I'll help with the boar." he said, rising from his chair.

Arowin nodded thankful for the company. She walked out outside to a small patch of lawn where the horses where grazing. She walked through the horses stroking each one as she went on. A few of the King's own horses where still here, some hadn't been sold off because the Hood always needed good horses. She picked out two of the King's horses and fetched them dn brought them into the stable where she tacked them up. The one in full tack would be for the Huntsman's use, the other had just a pieces of dirty cloth as a saddle blanket and a rope bridle falling apart for Kyle, it had to look as if he had fled in a hurry. She then walked to the horse's water trough and picked up mud surrounding it and went back to the horse Kyle would be riding and covered it in dirt and brushed it's hair in different directions and messed up it's mane and cut it's tail funny. "There!" she said admiring her handiwork just as Kyle arrived. She made him stand next to the water trough as she splashed him in mud and tore his clothing in some places. She then took out red paint she had spent a pretty penny on and smeared it in some places to look like blood. "That will have to do." she said and poked him in the stomach. "Pity there is nothing I can do to make you look underfed." she said with a tease.

Emerald hurried up the stairs and to her room, grabbing her cloak and putting it on before gently shaking Frank awake. "We're heading into the village. We have to drop Kyle off at the castle and get some bread." she told him. "You can come if you like." And then she went back downstairs and outside to find the rest of them ready. When she saw Kyle's disheveled look she gave a little laugh. "You look like you've spent the night in a pig sty." She smiled at him and sighed. "You've grown so much." she said, almost as if she were talking to herself.

Arowin giggled. "I could be an artist no?" she said smothering a laugh and then leading out his horse which looked even worse. "Now why don't you two run around the courtyard and get all out of breath and sweaty!" she said standing back. She then watched as Kyle nodded and got up onto the horse. Arowin headed back inside to go find the Huntsman. "I have prepared a mount for you." she said handing him a spare bow and quiver of arrows with a smile. For some reason Arowin just felt so care free around him, she even completely forgot about how Chris had left, about the dead, about all the pain. She then grabbed a pole outside the kitchen door and some rope before catching her own horse and putting him in the stall next to The Huntsman's horse where she started tacking him up to.
