Kyle stood rooted to the spot as shock overtook him. "Dead?" he said with a cracking voice. His mind was filled with his hunting trips with Rebecca, her face, her voice. "She can't be!" he stammered and stepped back. "Your lying, where is she?" he demanded trying to maintain himself and fight back the tears. "This isn't funny Emerald!" he shouted causing her of joking with him even though he knew she would never do anything as cruel as that. Kyle turned and ran from the room right out of the castle and into the stable to Lana, the chestnut that now belong to no one.

Arowin slowed her horse as the crumbling castle walls shot out of the forest to greet them. She dismounted and helped the Huntsmen down and pushed aside the small ivy covered door in the side of the wall leading into the courtyard. "Welcome to the real the Hideout." she said leading her horse through and turning him loose. She frowned as she heard shouts from inside and saw Kyle rush out. "I guess someone just told him." she murmured to herself almost forgetting her guest.

Emerald frowned, taking a step closer to Kyle as he backed away. "Kyle, I'm not lying." she whispered. He looked heart broken, the poor boy. When he ran out Emerald sank to her knees and started to sob, her face buried in her hands. Kyle shouldn't of had to know what it's like to loose someone at such a young age. She felt guilty and angry and sad. It was all her fault, all of this. Rebecca's death, Kyle's outburst. Suddenly, she wasn't even hungry anymore. She took a shaky breath and got to her feet, wiping the tears away before going off to find Frank.


The Huntsman landed on the ground with a loud thud, grunting as his knees absorbed the impact. He turned to see the hideout and his eyes went wide. "Well, you guys live a pretty good life here, don't you?" he asked, looking over the castle. A castle! They were like another country trying to fight the king, not just some band of outlaws. For crying out loud, they had their own castle! He then followed Arrowin's gaze to the boy that ran out of the house. "Who was that? And told him what?" he asked.

"Life isn't pretty or easy out here." Arowin murmured and shook her head as the real world returned to her. "Guy killed a good friend today and payed for it dearly." she said. "Why don't you head inside so long while I go speak to Kyle." she said and nodded towards the castle doors which stood wide open. Arowin walked to the stone stables hearing the sobbing and opened the stall door that used to belong to Rebecca and put her arms around Kyle pulling him to his feet. "Shh. Dry your eyes and come inside." she said and gently lead him out of the stables and inside.

The Huntsman nodded as he listened to her explain. "Oh, I'm sorry for your loss." he said before nodding again and watching her walk off into the stables. He sighed then and made his way into the hideout. "Hello?" he called, walking deeper in. All the sudden he felt a dagger press against his back and he turned around to see another woman. Goodness, was the Hood made up of all women? This one was smaller than Arrowin, at least a foot and half shorter than he. He looked down at her and chuckled. "Who are you?" she snapped, looking pretty peeved. "They call me the Huntsman." he said, crossing his arms and still looking mighty amused. "Arrowin brought me here." She seemed confused for a moment but lowered her dagger, eventually sticking it back in her boot. "Arrowin brought you here?" He nodded. Hadn't he just said that?

Arowin walked in just as Emerald tucked the knife away. "It's ok Em." she said stopping with one hand around Kyle's shoulders. "Huntsmen this is Emerald, current head of The Hood." she said very pointedly trying to make him realized that it was not so smart a thing to be chuckling at her. "Em this is the Huntsmen. I met him out by the river and told him he could stay a while." she said and then lead the group through to what had once been a very yellow sitting room but had thankfully faded with time. She sat Kyle by a chair near the fireplace and placed a blanket over him before couching down and lighting a fire and taking a seat herself. It had been a long day and would be a short night for she could already feel herself dozing slightly on the seat where she sat.

The Huntsman looked Emerald over, much to her discomfort. "You're Emerald?"he asked, as if he were surprised. "I thought you'd be....."
Emerald just narrowed her eyes at the brute. "It would be wise of you to not finish that statement, Huntsman." she said, her tone threatening as she followed Arrowin and Kyle into the sitting room. She sat down in a chair next to Kyle, the Huntsman taking a seat between Arrowin and Emerald. Emerald glanced over at Kyle, frowning, before returning her gaze to the Huntsman. "There's an empty room upstairs." she said, hoping he would go. But no, he stayed.
He nodded once. "Thank you. I'll be leaving in the morning." he told her, knowing she wasn't very trusting of him.
Emerald just nodded and stood up again. "Well, it's been a long day. We should all get some rest, I know I'm going to." She gave a small smile to Arrowin and a nod to the Huntsman before walking out of the room, stopping by Kyle and placing a kiss on his forehead. She then got Frank and headed upstairs.

Arowin shook her head at the Huntsman's boldness, it was little wonder that Emerald would threaten him. Most Hood members hated it when people underestimated them. It often lead to their deaths when they could have just fled in the first place. "Goodnight Emerald." she said and got up and crouched down by Kyle and looked him in the eyes. "Yes Rebecca is gone and no it isn't fair. This is what your father has caused and this is why we are all here. One day you will get to avenge her by making John pay but until then you need to stay strong." she said in an even voice. She then picked him up and pointed him to the door. "Off to bed with you now, the morning will bring new strength." she said and gave him a hug before sending him off. "Goodnight Huntsmen, don't worry about Emerald, it's been a hard day for us all." she said to explain the wonderfully warm welcome he had received from Emerald and even herself. She turned to leave and paused at the doorway with a glance back and then walked out towards the torrent where her room was. She climbed the stone stairs and pushed open her door walking to the window seat. She sat down and pulled the blanket off her bed and around her as she sat looking at the full moon hanging in the dark sky. Slowly her eyes shut and she fell into a dreamless sleep right there.

Frank stared at the stranger, he was huge, build wise anyway and seemed more of a threat than a friend to Frank who's tiny frame seemed overshadowed at the current moment. His blues eyes seemingly shooting daggers to the newcomer who went by the 'hunstman'. Frank found sudden hatred for this being.
He followed Emerald obediently upstairs, patting Kyles head reassuringly, before focusing on her "Who the hell is the beast and why the hell is he staying here" he hissed with a dark frown, coughing as he spoke.

Emerald shrugged, not really able to do much else. When she reached the top of the stairs, she stopped for a moment. Climbing up the stairs tonight had been much harder than normal. "He goes by The Huntsman." she finally replied, walking down to her room and kicking off her boots. "Arrowin invited him. It's only for a night or two, and if Arrowin trusts him so should we." She then pulled off her belt and pants before climbing into bed, the shirt she was wearing long enough to fall down to mid thigh. "Let's just worry about it in the morning."

Frank shrugged "I don't think I trust him, he seems a threat" he complained as they entered the room, his clothing getting flung everywhere until he reached the bed an clambered in with a heavy sigh, lieing back and staring at the ceiling "Sorry" he said apologetically and looked over to Emerald, he didn't up want to make her feel worse and placed his arm round her, closing his eyes and breathing in deeply, a slight raps to the breath as always.
