people who don't like the term "grammar nazi".

It's simply... well, for lack of a better term, a figure of speech. It's not meant to be taken literally in any way.
The people who think themselves grammar nazi's don't want to be followers of Hitler or anything; it just demonstrates that they're serious about grammar and fixing how other people speak. x3
Don't get me wrong, they have a perfectly valid reason for not liking it.
But still... it's not literal at all.

Most people realize it's not literal. I realize it's a figure of speech, but it still bothers me. I refrain from calling myself one, and just call myself a grammar nerd instead. It just bothers me how flippantly the term is used.

So I recieved my InuYasha: The Final Act DVD set today. I was soo excited.
So now I'm watching it, and of course, the audio is in Japanese, which is fine because I perfer that over the English version. So I change the subtitles from Chinese to English.

Oh.
my.
God.

They're... not that great. I mean, I give them credit for about 60% being correct and them speaking another language and translating it from Japanese, but...

Just wow. Most of it doesn't even make sense. And the worst part is...

I can't take the subtitles off ;u;

My choices are Chinese, English and Malay.

I swear to God....
Even my best friend is being a complete idiot about me wanting to become a vegan. I just floated the idea (I said do any of you guys ever think about going vegan? I recon it's a good idea) and they asked why so I rattled off a few of the most simple reasons involving some of the sick stuff people do to animals to get a larger amount of meat/milk etc for less. I also mentioned how some of the stuff they do to animals make the food they produce less healthy for humans, even if you don't care morally what goes on to get your food. Then they go all "if it was unhealthy it would be banned." My main reason for wanting to go vegan is not health. Damn I don't care about my own health. I just want to be able to eat and drink knowing that I haven't harmed any animal what so ever. Anyway, do they really buy into the fact that people actually care about your health? If people gave so much as a rat's about human health they would stop wasting wheat to grow cows to make patties and use the wheat to feed starving children. Then they go on to say that the killing and hurting animals is crap. No, I think not. Even if you are killing an animal in a humane way (which trust me, isn't the case as often as you would hope it would be) you are still KILLING it. Then, last of all they say animals kill other animals so why can't you. Let's see, because that is what animals do. I however have the choice of eliminating animals from my diet and I want to. Then they just said whatever and walked off. Whatever is the defense of those who can't be bothered listening to someone trying to explain something to them. That or they want to prove themselves right but have nothing to say.

Also I'm pretty sure me going vegan wouldn't make them die a slow an painful death. Me going vegan would affect me and all the animals I'm not eating only. And sure a single person going vegan isn't going to change the world but it would just make me feel a little happier, ok?
