||Freak||

All Freak could think about was his plan while he held Daniel in place. He couldn't let an incompetent little boy ruin everything he had worked for. Anger began to roar like a waterfall through his veins. Daniel had tried to turn the creatures against him. He had burned Aasiyah, who he may or may not be in love with. He had thrown a fireball at a building and nearly burned it down. He had set an expensive piece of machinery on fire, which was currently filling the building to the brim with smoke. All of these things were reasons why Freak held firm as the boy tried to claw his way out of his grip. In a matter of seconds, his legs gave way, and the man lowered him slowly to the ground. Anger began to take ahold of him, and he contemplated killing the boy right then and there. He had already caused so much trouble. Why give him the chance to cause any more?
Freak was mulling this over as Aasiyah entered the room with a shout. Like she had done many times before, Aasiyah had managed to knock the man out of his current state. The anger that had replaced the blood in his veins subsided slightly when he looked at her face. But it also brought in a bit of confusion. He still didn't understand how he felt about her. They had only known each other for a short time. And yet he felt extremely close to her. He had pushed her harder than any other creature, and she prevailed through his challenging tasks. She was stronger than he ever thought possible. But unlike with everyone else, he didn't care just about her strength. He cared about her as more than a creature.
Freak shook his head and turned back to Daniel. She could be dealt with later. Anger still draining out of his system, he remembered that the young boy had said something. What was it? Something about people being dead. Or not being dead. His words had fallen on ears deafened by anger. But it didn't really matter now. The man touched one of Daniel's arms, glad to see that it was motionless. He would have about 20 minutes now to get him to somewhere safe.
Freak glanced over his shoulder at Aasiyah and gave her a reassuring smile. "It's alright, Aasiyah. Daniel and I were just learning how to control our anger," he said, redirecting his gaze at the fire. "Can you get somebody to put that out? If it gets any bigger, it'll engulf this whole place."
With that, Freak lifted Daniel off of the ground with his arms. He felt extremely light for his age. But in the conditions he lived in, this weight was average. Freak carried him through the doors of the building and down the path to the testing building. There was an underground room there that had the power to block even the strongest creature's abilities. Freak hadn't put it there; it had come with the property. And for some reason, no one could use their abilities in that room. This would be the perfect place to put Daniel. That way, when they talked, he wouldn't be able to burn the place down.
It wasn't long before Freak had carried him all the way to the testing building. Since he was carrying Daniel, he had a bit of difficulty opening the door. But he stepped inside and closed the door back. "Don't worry, Daniel. We're almost there," he said, walking over to the back of the building. The door to the basement was hidden behind a few computers and excercize machienes, but he weaved through them with ease. Arriving at the door, the man pulled it open and slowly walked down the steps.
Freak switched a few lights on and carried Daniel over to the corner of the room. It looked like an ordinary room. It didn't have anything in it, but other than that, it looked normal. But the room possesed a hidden power. Freak put Daniel gently on the floor in the corner, propping him up against the wall. "Don't worry. You'll regain feeling soon. The effects of that pressure point don't last very long," he said, plopping down on the floor next to Daniel. He, once again, removed his mask. The clean air down here wouldnt' sting his scars, and he didn't care weather or not Daniel saw him."You know, I don't know much about your family. But I watched you for a few weeks before you were captured. You lived with your sister and her husband."

Varias kept sitting on the wall. He wanted to get out of here, but now his freedom was this close, it scared him. There were not many hiding places outside the walls. He would get busted for sure... Even if he managed to reach the first hiding place, the nest one was far away from it. Even if he would run, it would take him about 5 minutes to get there.

He sighed. What should he do now? Just go for it and see how far he would come? Or go back and pretend nothing really happened? Freak was not stupid... He was crazy, but not stupid. He probably already knew what Varias was doing right now. Trying to get out of here... It was so close, his freedom... One jump and he was free. But then what? He would get busted and be in big trouble. But wasn't he already in truble, just by sitting on the wall, thinking about his escape? And what if Freak would take his anger to the other creatures?

Varias looked up at the sky. Clouds were floating forward on the airstreams. He sighed again. What should he do now?

His curiosity was sparked a bit but he didn’t move. Barely he could see Aasiyah’s bare feet out of the corner of his eye. It made him wonder what she had been doing before she had arrived at the smoky building and called out for Freak. Daniel had to wonder what Aasiyah was thinking at the scene before her, it wouldn’t surprise him if she thought they had been fighting since it was slightly correct. They talked but his temper got the better of him. One thing was for sure that he was slightly surprised that Freak had caught him instead of just letting him drop on the ground. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that Aasiyah’s presence had a certain effect on the man above him. At the moment Daniel was perfectly happy just listening in on the little conversation that Aasiyah and Freak seemed to be having.

His happiness was broken when he thought he felt someone touch him. It took half of Daniel’s concentration not to freak out a little. He felt absolutely helpless, like an ant really, just waiting to be stood on by everyone else. It wasn’t a pleasant feeling, especially since he knew that Freak was capable of many things, this was probably one of Freak’s capabilities that shocked him. He hadn’t expected the man to get him like he had, maybe he should start reading books? The last one he actually read about was about a wooden boy, Pinocchio or something. How he wanted to be a real boy, it confused him a little since he couldn’t exactly remember the story. All he could remember of it was that the wooden doll wanted to be real- human; he was real since it wasn’t every day that you come across a boy that can’t tell lies. Was it like that? The story was a bit of a blur since he didn’t exactly know what happened.

After what seemed like a long pause Daniel finally heard Freak’s reply to Aasiyah, realisation of what the man had said was slowly sinking in. Learning how to control anger? He hadn’t learnt anything from the unpleasant experience. When he tried to speak all that really came out was a bit of a groan, it only frustrated him in his current state. At Freak’s little comment afterward he glanced at one of the walls that he could see, imagining fire burning the building from the support beams to the roof. It was shortly interrupted when he felt someone lift him off the ground. All he could really do was watch and see what happens, it surprised him that Freak was able to carry his weight but the man was full of surprises at the moment. Most of which Daniel wished he never knew.

One thing Daniel knew was that he couldn’t tell where they were going. Sure it was basic knowledge that they were heading to the testing building but it confused him when he heard Freak. Almost? He made it sound like they were trekking through forest and what not, though Freak would probably be doing most of the trekking. He watched a little curious as Freak seemed to carry him down into a hidden basement type of place. It only made his heart rate increase a little since the thought of dying appeared in his head. No one was around and it was the perfect place, he hadn’t known it was here so why would others?

When they entered the room Daniel glanced around a little, glad that Freak didn’t drop him flat on the floor. At least the man had some decency. Listening intently to what the man was saying since he wasn’t sure if he could be dying, hearing the comment he was relieved. The tingly feeling he had been experiencing for the past few minutes were odd. It felt like you had just slept on your arm but your whole body instead, that dead weight kind of feeling. Eyeing Freak carefully he watched him, a slight frown managed to work its way onto his face when he heard the man.

“Stalker?” Daniel managed to whisper a small hint of a smile appearing on his face, the fact that Freak said that amused him a little. Though if his family was dead he didn’t want to talk about them, it was a soft subject. His attention was diverted around the room much like a child would do when they were trying to avoid looking at someone in particular. Sure he was interested to see where Freak was trying to get with this but it was a soft subject. He noted that Freak had again removed his mask, only now did he notice that he had actually put it on sometime before hand.“Where…” Daniel started but trailed off a little. He really didn’t know what to say or do. He could feel the tingly sensation in his hands and legs slowly start to fade but he was confused as to why they were here, why Freak hadn’t taken him back to the cage where some of the other creatures were. Once Freak had set him against the wall he hadn’t looked at the man at all, avoiding eye contact and what not with him.

Aasiyah Sari Valeska || Worker

Calling the guards with the on call button to put out the fairly good size flames, Aasiyah went to do a head count on all the other creatures. Seeing all but one, Varias to be exact, Aasiyah growled to herself. She wasn’t in the mood to deal with any more creatures who thought they could pull something over on her or the other workers. Getting the guards from the ward to come out and find Varias, Aasiyah sat and waited. She knew it wouldn’t be long….
“Varias!” She bellowed when the guards pointed to the wall. “Come down at once!”

Varias looked at her and grinned. He would come down... He saw the guards. He had to think fast. Stupid! Plans to break out, but no plans of what to do next... He had no idea what was on the other side of the wall. Now he knew what was on the other side, he was worried. Not many hiding places... But if he came down, he would be in trouble. He got up and smiled at her. "Sure, I will come down." He jumped and landed on the other side of the wall. He started to run for his freedom, creating an illusion around him to make sure they couldn't see him. The only problem... He could only hold this up for a few minutes. He had to get as far away as possible!

Aasiyah Sari Valeska || Worker

Pinching the bridge of her nose as the boy jumped off the wall and ran off, Aasiyah signaled the guards to go after him. It wasn’t the first time a creature tried to run away from the ward. Each guard was armed with a special stun gun made by Freak. She knew firsthand how powerful the effect was because she was the one the first couple of models were tested on.
Helping the other guards to round up the cheering creatures and send them back to their cages, Aasiyah couldn’t help but smirk at Varias’s escape. He would be punished, but first she would congratulate him for a well done job. As the other creatures groaned and protested at being put back into the cages, Aasiyah knew what was needed.
“You can thank young Varias for all of this,” Aasiyah spoke in a nonchalant voice. “Freak told me to keep all of you outside to relax and have some fun, but having someone run…. We have to punish everyone for it.”
Giving the orders to the guards, Aasiyah walked back into the ward with her head held high. Clasping her hands behind her back as she walked, Aasiyah entered the room where Freak and Daniel were now in.
“Is there anything I can do?” She asked her master in a monotone voice.

Varias kept running. He felt his power getting weaker. He cursed and jumped behind a bush. She sat down and removed the illusion... His ribs hurted from the running, he was breathing fast. He could hear the guards come closer. He cursed and called the illusion back up when they were really close. He thought it would be enough energy for about 2 minutes. He held his breath when he could see the guards. Escaping was harder then he thought... Next time he would work out his plans better!

||Freak||

Freak closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the wall, listening as Daniel sputtered out short words. It must have affected his mouth, too. He hadn't tried this on anyone before. But then again, Daniel was different than anyone he'd ever had. Like all the rest of his creatures, he was determined to use any chance he got to get to the world outside of the cages. But he really fought for it. He persued what he wanted with a burning passion that was hard to find in most teenagers. In that aspect, Freak kind of admired him. No matter how much he annoyed him, Daniel was still a good kid.
Freak placed his hand on one of Daniel's arms, feeling all the muscles come back to life. "You getting any feeling back?" he asked. "By the way, when you do, don't start trying to pull anything. This room blocks all abilities." The first time he had come down here, he wanted to make it a part of the testing building. It would be a great place to put extra pieces of machinery or spare parts for computers. But when he found out that even his strongest creatures couldn't use their abilities there, he decided to leave it empty. He knew it would become useful later. And he was right. Now he had the perfect place to take Daniel to.
Freak kept one hand on Daniel's arm and pressed down right beside his shoulder. "There. That should help some," he said, pushing with his thumb. It was supposed to help to get the circulation going again. "I did a lot of research on pressure points before the war ended. My ability isn't enough to keep order if things get out of control here."
Freak let go of Daniel's arm and ran his hands through his hair. He really needed to cut it. But it wasn't his number one priority right now. At this point, he heard feet padding down the steps to the basement. He tensed slightly at the noise. No one knew about this place--did he leave the door open? His heart began to pound in his chest, and he secretly hoped Daniel couldn't hear it. If anyone outside of the gates had found out about this place, he'd be doomed. And he wouldn't be able to use his pressure points to save himself.
When Aasiyah walked into the room, Freak sighed and relaxed. "You scared me to death, Aasiyah," he said, his heart still pounding. He had told Aasiyah about the room a while back. She knew a lot of secrets about the property that no one else did. The only thing she didn't know about was his ability. But he had never mentioned it to anyone before. Except to Daniel. Just now."No, we're okay. Are the creatures alright?"
Freak glanced back at Daniel, who was murmering something about where. Where his sister was, probably. He honestly didn't know; it had been 6 years since he captured him. His memory wasn't very good to begin with. "I don't know where your sister was, if that's what you're asking. But you had a brother, too. I never saw your mother or father." After considering it for a few moments, he wasn't really sure why he was telling him this. It wasn't going to make anything better. And anyway, wasn't he supposed to be telling him about his past and not his own?
"I know what it's like to forget things. Hurts, doesn't it?" Freak asked, the words pouring out of his mouth unexpectedly. Where had that come from? He hadn't thought about that. Maybe that was why he was telling him. So he could help him to remember. If Freak had someone who knew him from before, he would pay them a million dollars to say what he had been like. A person's past is precious; it's what motivates them for the future. And without the first half of his life there in his mind, he felt. . .broken. Like he was missing his other half. Maybe he still had some pity left for Daniel, even after everything he had done.

Surprised Freak didn’t pick up on her tone – or he did and didn’t care she couldn’t decide – Aasiyah thought of the best way to tell Freak about the Varias creature.
He’s going to find out. Better make it sooner than later… Aasiyah argued with herself as Freak continued to speak to Daniel.
“Everyone but one is accounted for, sir. Varias somehow managed to climb under the seal of the garden… he made a run for it but the guards have the guns and dogs out for him.” Rubbing her forearm subconsciously at the memories of the tests for the guns, Aasiyah braced herself and waited for Freak to start yelling at her. She let one escape… even if it was just past the garden. There was no true was to get above, below, or around the walls unless Freak allowed it.

Varias kept the illusion around him as long as he could. He heard dogs barking and sniffing. Dogs?! They wouls betray him. He didn't control smells yet... He could create a small flower and give it a weak scent, but that was about it.
He crawled aside and sneaked between some guard. One of them held their stun gun pointed at him, but they couldn't see him... He tried to get away as soon as he could... The dogs were leading the quards after him.
His power was getting weaker. He was getting slower. He failed his escape... but is wasn't over yet! He would never surrender without....-
His thoughts got cut off when he felt some very powerfull shocks though his body. He fell forward, the illusion disappeared. He knew what happened... The saw the air change a little when his power was weak. They were fast!
He heard a guard say "We got him, Aasiah. Where does Freak want him?"
Varias couldn't move... His body was shaking, his muscles painfull. He got lifted from the ground.
