sixteen year old austin mahone first started posting videos of himself and friend alex constancio on youtube in june, 2010. by january 2011, music videos followed and many people started to hear him sing and follow him.
when austin was just sixteen months old, his dad passed away. he grew up in texas with his mom, michele mahone, living in the towns of seguin, san antonio, and la vernia. after his mom divorced her second husband, he moved back to san antonio and attended lady bird johnson high school, but after a brief time he had to drop out because of his growing fame.

as you could tell, austin mostly does covers for popular songs.
fun fact; his cover to 'mistletoe' by justin bieber was so popular it was more popular than when justin released it.
