As Fawna walked slowly through the sand. The sand was getting harder to walk through, though she wasn't sure why. Probably just the strain of having to walk through it constantly. Her water bottle was almost empty now and she needed to find water soon. She was desperate enough now that she would have tried to get water out of a cactus if she'd come across one but she had no such luck. She wasn't even sure she'd been making any progress. Everything looked the same to her.
Suddenly, Bengli growl, raced forward and grabbed her arm. Fawna pulled away or tried too. Bengli was incredibly strong and though she was being gentle, Fawna was well aware of just how much force those jaws could pack. Bengli began to tug her across the desert, dragging her away from her original southernly direction. She couldn't for the life of her figure out where Bengli was taking her but if she wanted to keep her arm, she'd better follow. After a short time a rock appeared on the horizon, the first she'd seen since she'd left the one she'd slept next to this morning. This one was bigger and as they drew closer, the wind began to pick up, blowing sand into Fawna's skin with incredible force. Sandstorm, Fawna thought and no longer needed Bengli's urgings to get to the rock as fast as possible.
She looked toward the Cornucopia and saw that was were it was originating. She was glad then, like she'd never been before, that she hadn't stayed there. This storm would have blow up with force and unexpected suddenness. She at least had some minutes before it would hit her in force. Reaching the rock, Bengli began searching around it, sniffing, trying to find a hole to find it. After a couple of pain filled minutes, Fawna found an opening and calling Bengli's name into the wind, wedged herself inside. Bengli appeared a couple of seconds later and all of the young cat's fears were forgotten. It pushed its way into the hole with Fawna, as Fawna took out her blanket and wrapped it around them. It didn't afford much protection but it was the best she could do. The hole on the opposite side of the direction the wind was coming and the blanket kept what sand did come through from stinging her skin. She and Bengli waited, it was all they could do.
