Blackstripe looked surprised at Midnightclaws reaction.

If you read the series there is a lake with an island on it. Also in the plot on the first page it says pretty much that the area not in the forest via the area around the lake with no trees was dead and dark crawling with badgers i gues you can call it that) Ravenkit flew to the top of a tree.

Foxkit mumbled "fine.".

Midnightclaw turned into an eagle and grabbed Yorrowkt and Foxkit and flew of to bagder island.

Ravenkit spotted the white face of a badger in the frond on the edge of the lake. She swooped down as a raven and grazed her talons over its back leaving a small scratch. The beast whipped around and snarled reaching for the bird.
