Arowin lowered her bow after a while and waited for Emerald to finish shooting before she moved forward and started pulling her arrows free of the dummy and placed them back in her quiver. She glanced up at the sky and frowned noticing it getting dark. "Emerald how long ago did Rebecca leave to go drop off the poached meat?" she said suddenly looking around for the chestnut mare Lara. The mare stood up the kitchen door but it was shut. Rebecca always groomed the mare by the time and usually make supper for everyone.

Rebecca woke up with her head spinning and everything dark. She could hear voices and she could feel pain across her back. She tried to move and found herself hanging by her wrists. Slowly her vision began to return and she slowly recognized her surroundings.

Emerald followed Arrowin and pulled her arrows out of her dummy as well. At Arrowin's question, she thought for a moment and then frowned. "A few hours ago. Normally she would be back by now." she said, replacing her arrows to their quiver before turning around and starting to look off into the forest. Something wasn't right about this. Rebecca was always back by now.

Arowin shook her head and grabbed her bridle and quickly slipped it over Ace's head. "I'm going to go look for her. Something has happened, Rebecca is never late!" she said and stroked her horse's mane. "Do you know which part of the village she was headed for?" Arowin asked. Ace was beginning to pick up on his rider's nerves and was prancing about and tossing his head but Arowin kept him under a tight rein.

Emerald thought for a moment, and while she did she put her fingers to her lips and whistled, Envy trotting over to her. "I think she went by the outskirts, where the villagers live. That's where she normally goes to give them the meat." She grabbed a handful of Envy's mane to keep the stallion still, as he was tossing his head and nudging Emerald, trying to figure out what was going on. "I'm coming with you. Frank and Jack can hold things down here, I'm pretty sure."

Arowin nodded and spurred Ace to the opening in the stone wall of the hideout. He shot away at her command giving her just enough time to duck to avoid smashing her forehead of the stone arch. The forest went by in blurs but Arowin hardly noticed as they cantered down the faint trail that Rebecca took once a week to deliver the meat to the village. Scenes ran through her head of what might have happened and each was worse than the last.

Rebecca's sight returned as she slowly spun around. Her throat felt raw and her back just as bad. She could see villagers around her with their eyes down to the ground not looking up at her or the guards around her. She was in the village center. She remembered tapping on the door of one of the hut's to deliver the meet and instead of an old women she met a cruel smiling guard. They had dragged her to the village center and punished her as a poacher. There had been a whip on her back and a red hot poker on her throat, then she blacked out. She hung limp from the hang man's tree, by her wrists not her neck luckily, if you could call this lucky.

"Frank!" Emerald shouted as she mounted Envy. "Arrowin and I are goin' out! Watch the hideout till we get back!" And with that she galloped after Arrowin, scowling. How could she not have recognized sooner that Rebecca hadn't come back yet? If her father found her...no, no it couldn't happen. She couldn't let herself think like that. Maybe she had just gotten caught up in a very long conversation with some villagers. But no matter what she told herself, she knew something was wrong. Very wrong.

Guy trotted into the village, sitting proudly on Malfazar's back. He had received word that they had captured one of the Hood, and he wad determined to see who it was. He came upon the village square and halted, eying the scene with cold and calculating eyes before dismounting. It wasn't Arrowin or Emerald, but at least it was someone. When one went missing, the whole gang came running after. He gave a cruel chuckle and started to slowly pace in front of Rebecca. "Well, well, well. Look who we have here." He smirked darkly, his black eyes glinting with a cruel pleasure at the sight of this punished woman. "Rebecca, wasn't it? Long time no see. That's all about to change though, dearie." He turned to face the villagers now, raising his voice. "This will change, you hear me? This is the first of many actions to be taken against the Hood. You had all just gotten your hopes up, hadn't you? And yet here you are, with a member of the Hood at my mercy." He chuckled again and the shrugged. "Wait, that's right. I don't have any." He turned to the guard holding the whip and held out his hand. "Give it here."

Rebecca had closed her eyes for a few seconds before she hear the clatter of hooves. Her eyeshot open for no one in the village could afford horses, not even the farmers. The sight that greeted her was enough to drain he little blood left in her face. Rebecca struggled but the ropes just cut into her wrist. She tried to shout out and curse Guy but found she couldn't, the brand had muted her. She watched Guy take the whip and clenched her jaw shut. At least none of the others where here. They would just get themselves killed, best to let only one die today instead of many.

A villager suddenly appeared in the path waving his arm's franticly as Arowin neared the end of the forest. Ace slid to a halt just before and Arowin motioned for the villager to speak up. "Don't go, don't go! They have her." he said in a panicky voice. "Guy is there, he is waiting for you!" the villager said putting out a hand to Ace to prevent him from going further. The grey snapped at him but Arowin pulled him up short.

Emerald scowled when the villager stopped them, and was just about to tell them to move when they said Guy was there. Her eyes went wide and her heart sunk. "No, no, not now." she hissed under her breath. She dismounted Envy and motioned for Arrowin to do the same. "Take to the rooftops. If I know my father Rebecca is probably tied up. If you can, shoot the ropes free and get Rebecca out of there. I'll distract my father as best I can." She then looked to the villager. "I'm not leaving Rebecca in there." she told him, hoping that he wouldn't try to stop them again.

Guy cracked the whip, smirking. "Ready for another lashing?" he asked sarcastically, taking a few steps closer to Rebecca. Then all the sudden the sound of a child crying caused him to turn around. He spotted the child and scowled. "Shut up,girl, or you and your brother'll be next!" he snapped, pointing the whip at them. They cowered back into the crowd, the brother's hand over his little sister's mouth to keep her quiet. "There, better." he said, turning back to Rebecca and raising the whip.
