Kae’ouit

Kae’ouit felt guilty, almost, at Anna’s nervous expression he’d caused, feeling bad that he’d most likely overreacted, yet even if he was perhaps slightly too stern, she’d had to learn sometime. His smoke and flame coat glittered subtly in the warm sunlight as he shifted to glance at the sun, checking the time by the position of the great golden orb in the sky. When she met his eyes, he could see that she wanted him to reprimand her, now and out loud, but he refused, not thinking that it might frustrate her. Why make a scene when she’d already appeared contrite?

Flicking his tail to ward away the sand flies, his attention rested briefly on a flock of tiny shorebirds, plovers and sandpipers scuttling among the foam and flotsam. The soft roar of the waves kissing at the golden sand brought with them the briny scent of the breeze, carrying with it the story of the oceans waters. Abreast the sand dune, with the blue-gray ocean and whispering, faded green grass, with the crying, circling lone gull and the sand being blown up wraithlike in the salty bite of the cold wind, with the twisted white skeletons of washed up trees and the splash of colour that was a bright red crab scuttling along the damp shore, Kae’ouit felt the vast loneliness of the landscape stretching before him, and he felt a sense of belonging, of peace that he didn’t often feel. The proud, fiery stallion enjoyed the inland grasslands and beautiful babbling brooks and rivers like any stallion would with their lush forests and rich and bountiful resources, but the seaside was where he belonged.

Anna’s words drew him back from high and lonely musings, and Kae’ouit’s deep green gaze turned to the cerise tones of her bright eyes. A loner, like him- or not like him? Was Kae’ouit a rogue? A furrow appeared between his brows, but he cast it off, not wanting to think about it right then. His gaze softened fondly at the anger in her eyes when she lowered her head ever so meekly. He knew she was chaffing at her restraints, and it amused him; he appreciated that she was making an effort, but even though it could be taken the wrong way her words hadn’t been such a going-against of proper etiquette after all. Her fiery disposition gave him a challenge, and he liked that; but it was amusing to see her try to control it.

Yet something else showed in her eyes, something he couldn’t name but understood all the same. He warmed towards her, understanding. And her next words, though they drew a look of concern at her mention of bad experiences, made him nod with approval; mature, experienced words, and the air of superiority was not condescending. A sudden thought struck him, and a tiny blossom of hope bloomed in his heart that had been closed off for so long.

“You know,” he said, hesitantly, unusual for Kae’ouit, “I’ve been thinking of gathering a herd together...” He had to fight not to trail off, sudden nervousness fluttering in his veins. “Would any of you like to join?” He regretted it as soon as he said it, just barely controlling a flush, flustered, but at the same time he felt a deep satisfaction that he’d managed to get it out. A herd, yes, that was what he needed. Kae’ouit would gather a herd.

Risa smiled and swished her tail. "Yeah, well with you and you're charming personality, how could I turn you down?" she joked, laughing lightly. She bent her head down to take a quick bite of the sweet grass growing by the riverside.

Kirian flicked his tail teasingly at Risa. "So... I have a charming personality, do I?" he said, teasingly.

Laxius
With Tisane, Kae'ouit and Anna

He is crushing on no-one

Laxius flicked his tail thoughtfully. He looked up and down at Kae'ouit. First, he could tell that the stallion was older than him. But Laxius could also see that he was taller than Kae'ouit, by about one hand. Laxius couldn't decide if he wanted to join the other equid's herd or not. The equid seemed to have a nice personality, but Laxius preferred to be the leader sometimes.

Risa smiled and laughed. "What have we decided so far? Smart, charming...yep, that's about it!" she laughed. "But no, really, you'll have no problem getting members."

and yeah, but I've been on my phone lately, since I've been on vacation, so I didn't want to go back and find the post i'll go back to my format next time I post, since I'm back from California .}

Anna could sense that Kae'ouit was amused by her, which brought a wierd feeling into her stomach. Butterflied fluttered their wings inside her belly, sending a shiver down her spine. She watched the stallion turn his head to the sea, and she considered whether or not she liked the seaside and the ocean. Another thought fought its way inside her mind. 'I've never been to the sea.. never even walked on the sand.' But the way the waved slapped the shore, leaving behind a white foam and green strands of some slimy weed, she felt her heart quicken. Excitment welled up inside her. To frolick along the shores, splashing in the water, made her feel electrified and happy.

She turned back to Laxius and Tisane, weighing different strategies.. things to say, what to do, how to even stand up correctly. Could she even do that. A flicker of embarrassed passed across her expression as he looked down at her hooves. Her coat seemed to darken as she felt a shyness creeping into her body, seeping through her coat. SHe lashed her plume at it, angry to feel... shy? Dismissing the sudden change to her emotions, she looked up to Kae'ouit. Her tail gently brushed his flank, as the choclate mare attempted to be reassuring and comforting.

Things were going slow, and she hadn't even realized that minutes had passed since Kae'ouit had said something. It wasn't "things" that were going slow, it was her own body. Maybe it was exhaustion, she didn't know, but she mused over it, wasting precious seconds as she did so. Was she making this stallion beside her feel awkward? A tumble of words cascading from her mouth as she stammered out what to say. With a flick of her long ears, she controlled her words and kept her eyes on the ocean as she spoke. "I'd join anything if you were a part of it too." she whispered, hoping it was only for him to hear. A slight realization hit her like the blue waves hit the tan sand. Had she said that? She meant it, none the less. Nodding, with more confidence in her voice, she added. "I'll join." she said, almost matter of factly, but emotion tinting every word that left her mouth.

Aeryn's smile brightens slightly. "I'm Aeryn." He says softly. "It's nice to meet you, Sagirah." He says gently trying to not to be shy; he hated first impressions he was always shy when you first meet him. "Are you alright?" He asks her, he didn't want to get chased off by her mother if he had accidentally hurt her when he helped her up. He looks over Sagirah one last time and then stands in front of her. Staying a good distance away. He didn't want to be rude.

Sagirahs blue eyes continued to gaze at Aeryn. "Oh, um, I'm fine" She said sweetly, mezmerised by the colts gorgeous colour. "So, Aeryn?" She slowly took some wobbly steps closer and to the right side, "Where are you from?" she asked not knowing whether or not she had trodden on his turf, or he thought it was hers. She glanced back to her mother and the couple. Her eyes not straying from him for too long.

He watched as the young mare snuck of, wondering if her should say something. She was crossing the water now and another young equid approached and helped her. He wondered if they were friends. he talked to Sastella now "well you can certainly join us for the time being" but kept his eyes on the foal trying to signal the mother quietly to what was going on behind her in the near distance.

The mare gave a happy nicker and her tail swished softly, the long strands of her tail, gently twirling and playing in the breeze. Her ears tall on her head. She watched the stallions eyes dance off into the distance behind her. Swinging her head around she saw a colt standing with her foal off into the distance. The happy and swinging tail now down on the ground, her ears flat on her neck and her jaw slowly dropping. "Sagirah!" She screamed levading into a gallop and attempting to leap over th lake. Failing her attempt she landed 3 quaters over the creak, splashing through the creek trying to reach her child to keep her safe.

Sinner stopped her harks flicking back against her head mingling with her ebony and ivory mane, her tail swished to the right as she muttered ''You coming or what?'' she snorted then craned her neck slightly, ears flicking from her head to forward and back against her head again. Turning her head to the left with an un-enthused looked ''Or are you going to abandon a lady?'' she flicked her harks forwards now her emerald orbs on the painted stallion

Swan became startled again as the brute approached her, she squealed and trampled into the water not allowing him to come close to her, her neck craned defensively. She bared her teeth at him backing up into the water, frightened her nostrils flaring.
