There was no sound at all, only the faint sound of tapping, like when you haven't turned to the tap of completely and it is still dripping. There was little or no light either, a small window stood at the far left wall, with bars crossing it, only casting a faint glow on the ground just outside one of the cells. Out of the hundreds of cells that filled this dungeon only one was inhabited with two boys. Both boys were of the same age, and from a distance you would almost think they were twins. Of course as you got closer you could see the obvious differences. One has dark, straight hair with a rather long fringe, the other bright blonde curly hair, the dark haired one had only a few freckles over his Jose, while the blonde had hem sprinkled all over his nose and cheeks. Both has the same expression on their face, a mix of fear and pain, waiting for the sound of footsteps. They had been there for a whole night, and that tapping noise was slowly driving them mad, but silence would be even worse. To break the silence Andrew, the blonde haired boy turned to Thomas, his friend,"It's nearly morning," he said softly, not looking at Thomas. Thomas nodded softly,"I can't stand it," he said, sounding desperate. Andrew and Thomas had known each other since they could remember, they had gone to school together, they had even joined the army together, and now they were in a dungeon together.
What seemed like years later here was he sound of footsteps and Andrew and Thomas stood up as the guard appeared,"Hands behind neck," he said gruffly as he opened the door. Andrew and Thomas obeyed immediately, and the guard hand cuffed their hands there, as Andrew tried to remember how he got in this mess.
It was just after his country had fallen, and he and Thomas were running, fey didn't know where, they were just running. The castle had been taken and most of the soldiers killed, Andrew doubted there was five still alive. Suddenly Andrew and Thomas heard the sound of pounding hooves behind them, and the last thing they rembered was the the small twing of an arrow being released. When Andrew woke up he was in this cell with Thomas, and a guard told him the king was eager to see him before he was sold.
Andrew and Thomas blinked as they were pushed into the sunlight and he warmth of the castle, that was now swarming with Agora guards. Andrew was wearing his usual loose black shirt and combat trousers, Thomas was wearing a t-shirt and jeans, hardly dressed to meet the king. The chain was around Andrwws neck, by he had tucked the jewel under his shirt so all you could see was the chain, hoping the king wouldn't notice it. A large man walked up to them,"I expect you two to behave in front of his majesty, or else," he said, holding a whip in his right hand. He undid the hand cuffs, then the large double doors to the main hall and they were pushed in. Andrew and Thomas stumbled slightly as they were pushed, rather startled. They straightened up and looked around with wide eyes seeing about a hundred people, dressed in expensive clothing,"Oh no," said Andrew softly as the guard walked in behind him.
