"I'm such a failure in life!" My friend ranted to me in a squeal as we continued our walk home. "He just rejected me Charolette!" She continued to rant as I gave her 'the look'. She just shot a glare me like her concept was more important. "..And then he-" That was when i cut her off, it was MY turn to talk. " I know, Annae. You told me earlier, and then again during lunch." I said, rather calmly compared to her ranting. "But you know i don't like people calling me Charolette. My name is Charli." I clarified for her, turning down a deserted street. Annae scowled behind me, crossing her arms and flipping her hair like a girly girl like she usually would. "I saw that." I told her, continuing to walk down the street with my Elegant light grey and darker grey pelt flying everywhere due to the gust of wind that came out of no where. Now, on the topic of my name, it's all my mother's fault i was even named that. She even told me the story behind my name once. Here's how it went: She was 18, had dreams, had her life planned out perfectly. Then she made a mistake and, voila! Here i am, here today and having a conversation with myself. As the time came to name me, she told me, she had a frown on her face as she looked down at my newborn, grey face, and named me exactly what i was. Charolette. Fits perfectly. An ugly name for an ugly girl.

Such a 'beautiful girl' i was according to everyone else. With my light grey fur, the way my fur also had different shades of both black and grey interwoven into it too. What else did they say was 'amazing' about me? Oh yeah, apparently my pink wings and eyes are unique and special one of a kind in some way.. I don't see what everyone else finds great in me.. I'm normal. Boring. Unpopular. What's the point in even having me as a friend? I would always have this mental talk with myself, escaping the reality that awaited me here. I snapped out of my self argument and tuned into Annae's ranting again. I sighed, re adjusting the bag i always carried onto my shoulder. All of the there was an eerie silence, like Annae had stopped talking and was now waiting on me to reply. "Oh, um. Yeah, he's a total jerk." I replied, turning around to look at her. She smiled and gave me a giant hug like what i'd said was like a message from God. I didn't even know what she asked me... Oh, whatever it was it didn't matter. I wouldn't be there tomorrow to deal with her problems.

"Well, bye CHARLI. I have to go." Annae said, putting inphasis on Charli to show she knew it was my name. I smiled the smallest bit and nodded waving a silent good bye to her as she ran past me and up her drive way. I sighed once again, the smile leaving my face as i continued down the street to my own house hold. I unlocked the sliding door with a special key i retrieved from my pocket and walked into the house to be met by my mom, slumped down on the counter, asleep. Another day out i'm guessing, but i ignored her and walked upstairs to my tiny bedroom. I walked straight over to the vanity, leaning into the mirror to look at my reflection. Same as always...Plain..boring...ugly. I sighed and walked over to my bed and plopped down, slowly drifting off to sleep thinking about my 'beauty' and how people had it wrong. After all, i was just plain and boring. I would never be anything special.
