I know right! I had gotten 20 of them before they changed back. My group is now named: "I want my Nick ratties back :'(" And I still have my favorite rat in my Nick group re-named: "In Memory of the cutest Nick ratties ever!"

Psychotic wolf fans who claim they love all animals, but really only care about wolves.

"SAVE THE WOLVES!" What about other animals? You don't care about animals, you care about the pretty/cute ones. I'm tired of everyone screaming "SAVE THE WOLVES!" when they aren't even endangered. Yes, there are endangered wolves. But they're not the grey wolf which is the one most stupid wolfaboos (wolfaboo = psychotic wolf fan) complain about because that's the only wolf they know about to begin with.

It's ridiculous. People go out and gas, choke with smoke, and shoot hundreds sometimes thousands of rattlesnakes in one event every year and nobody cares. Endangered migratory bats are getting shredded in wind turbines by the truckload, not a single pissed off activist in sight. But one wolf gets shot and people are up in arms picketing and moaning about how omgmeen Sarah Palin is to wolves or something equally inane and baseless.

tl;dr: Unless you show concern for an endangered caterpillar or vulture or some animal that isn't cute/mystical/pretty, stfu about wolves.

I slightly agree with this. I have seen some pretty horrible things happen to other animals besides wolves(not that I don't love wolves and would do anything to protect them as well) There are other animals that are killed by the thousands. In fact, I watched a video about live pigeon shoots the other day. They would kill hundreds of thousands of live, half-starved pigeons just for sport! It was horrible and made me sick to my stomach >.< But people don't seem to care about these poor pigeons because they are considered pests. Just because pigeons are considered pests does not mean humans should capture millions each year and shoot them for sport! It makes me soooo angry! (Wow, I really went off this time... I only planned to write a sentence or two >.< Oh well, it needed to be said)

There are truly endangered animals out there. much more so than the wolves. The Amur Leopard? Only 40 left, that's it and then they'll be extinct because of human habitat invasion and extreme poaching. What about the overfishing issue. Fish are a vital part of our ecosystem as a whole. If they go, you better believe those wolves you all are so avid about will be the last thing conservationists will be thinking about.

I saw a phrase in a book once that I really liked - I can't remember exactly how it went, but it was basically: "Who weeps for the red-backed vole?" In other words, people want to save the cute species like pandas and dramatic ones like tigers (or any big cat, come to that), but very few people really care about the small plain-looking animals like voles, northern frogs, snakes or bats. Meanwhile, they'll be out there trying to save species that sometimes aren't particularly threatened or sometimes aren't even a real species (for example, the 'red wolf' is actually a wolf-coyote hybrid, not a separate wolf species).
