I crouched low in the underbrush, keeping my breathing slow and steady. I placed one paw infront of the other, grinning wickedly. Infront of me was my best friend, Cader, and he had no clue I was behind him. We meet on the same place everyday, but we've always just kinda met up. Well, except for yesterday. Cader decided to creep up behind me and pounce on my tail, scaring me really bad. That's my biggest flaw. It's really easy to scare me, and it really doesn't take much. Saying 'Boo' in my ear scares me just as bad. Suddenly, Cader sneezed and I jumped, almost giving me away. He turned around, looking for the source of the sounds I made. I pressed myself to the ground and, given he was a little bigger than me, his view passed above my head, even if I was standing up, so on the ground he was sure not to see me.

I waited a minute or two for him to turn around and stop paying attention. I leapt up, landing on his back with laugh. He fell onto his stomach with an 'Ooph', his back legs spread out behind him awkwardly. Why, hello beautiful, he said with a laugh. I sighed softly, hoping he wouldn't hear. He always called me 'beautiful', and I called him 'handsome' because when we first met, we decided we'd do that to make the other feel special, and back then, we were dead certain we could never love the other. But we were just little kits, then, and we didn't have loving feelings, but now that we're older, I've kind-of fallen in love wih him, though he doesn't know it.

Good morning! I said cheerful, rolling over off of him.1
