Moggie = muttcat :] It's a phrase used in the cat breeding world for any cat of unknown heritage or without papers. Most cats in the world today are moggies, and some breeders who are not very reputable will call moggies purebreds to heighten their value. Some will cut off the kittens' tails and call them Manx, others will breed pointed cats they found on the street and call them Siamese, some will breed spotted tabbies and call them Bengals.

Your cat, being a mix of unknown heritage, is a moggie. But that's okay, like I said most cats are :] He's blue and has some tabby markings, but those are both naturally occurring and every cat is capable of producing something with those traits. The reason for simply labelling cats of unknown heritage/mixed breed as just moggies is actually a pretty good one; most muttcats aren't two or three breeds mixed together. It's relatively rare that someone actually gets ahold of purebred cats and purposely makes mutts to release to Joe Public... most of the time when that happens it's because they'd like to make a new breed. Most moggies are somewhere like 10 or 20 or 50 different breeds mixed together, so it's possible Bearbear has some Russian Blue in him, but he could also have Aby, Singaporian, Siamese, Ragdoll, Egyptian Mau, etc and you'd never know because his genetics are so blended together. He might not have traditionally blue cats in him at all and just simply have a dilution gene that turns his black color into grey.

My girl, Saffron, is a moggie. Her coloration is buff/cream (dilute red... blue is dilute black :] ) spotted tabby. She's a nonstop meower and has the high screechy meow of a Siamese, is rather lightly built, and she goes limp when she's held like a Ragdoll... but she's a moggie and I honestly have no way of finding out what's in her. Is it possible she has both of those breeds? Yes, very much so. But she's also probably got about 15 other ones in there, and she might not even have those breeds because those two traits will show up in other cat breeds as well.

Nah, more like locality. In the UK muttcats are called moggies. In the US, they're Domestic Long/Medium/Shorthairs. Even though I live in the US, I prefer calling them moggies because people tend to mix up "Domestic Shorthair" with "American/British/Oriental Shorthair". One is a nice way to say unpapered muttcat, and one is an actual distinct breed.

My Jezebel is laying on me right now, and our Ivan (aka FatCat) is laying at my feet dead to the world except for his tail which is flicking and teasing Jezebel

Oh right :)
Weve had the kitten for two weeks almoat now, we called her kahleela which means best friend xD

I love kitties!
I have one of my own, he's called Bowie.
We rescued Bowie from the shelter,
they say he is definitely younger than five months.
I've got a couple of pictures of him on my computer,
right now I'm on my new laptop that only has a couple of pictures of him, enjoy.

I have a cat.I'm not quite sure wether he's a norweigian forest cat or a moggie...He has a bit of a strange name, and likes his privacy,so I won't give away his name, but he has a nickname, which is Meow-Meow...He was the runt of the litter...Poor fella. He is very intelligent though, its incredible.

If you don't know whether or not his parents were purebreds, he can only be a moggie :] That doesn't mean he doesn't have any Norwegian Forest Cat in him... for all we know he could be purebred (though that's very unlikely if he wasn't bought as a purebred... and somewhat unlikely even if he was considering some of the awful breeding practices adopted by more or less cat backyard breeders), but in the cat fancy he technically can't be called anything else. It's very likely he's got something big and fluffy in him though if he looks at all similar to a Norwegian.
