"No! Nothing is alright! The packs are at war! Every mouthful of food, every lick of water is a fight! Many dogs have died in this war! And yet I'm sitting here worrying about whether or not it would be alright for me to like you! I'm a horrible Beta, a horrible dog!" Comet wailed. Tears slipped down his face. The stress was overwhelming him, taking over him.

She nuzzled him. "Just calm down," she shushed. "You're not bad, you just need to stop, relax, and think. If you're tired of the war, then you should end it."

"But it's how it is. It's how it always has been. I hate the war but I don't think it's possible to end it. It's all that we know." Comet whimpered. He tried to take a few deep breaths to settle himself down, with no luck though. The brute was stressed out because he knew he would fail as a Beta. And the whole him having feelings for Zaxa just added to it.

"What do you mean? Two dogs will end it? Who?" Comet asked, tilting his head in confusion. He thought for a second, pondering what she meant. Two dogs... could it be one from Uptown and one from Downtown? Maybe she meant the two of them. No, Comet didn't know how to do anything about the war. All his life the war has been waging, he doesn't know what it would even be like without it.

She rolled her eyes. "You and me," She answered. "My father was in the enimy pack and my mother was in here. I'm not sure if they'd accept me because I have their blood..."

"I'm not following you here. Your proposing to join the other team to help end the war?" Comet asked. "That would be very risky, you know. They aren't the nicest dogs the Downtown dogs, if they hear you wanting to join their pack they might think your a spy and attack you. But if you seriously think it'd help end the war..." he trailed off. "Then please tell me how it would help. Tell me your plan." he pleaded.

"Alright, so I say 'Take me to your leader' and then when they do, I'll have a chat with him. I'll bring my lucky weapon in case he gets any ideas."

"It's more then just Downtown we need to convince. I'll talk to our alpha, you speak to theirs. Tell them to bring their entire pack to meet at the boarder for a discussion. Then we'll see if we could work things out." Comet suggested. "Because we need the voice of every member, with both packs we'll hear everyone's voice." he added.
