"Call me Rhyme, please."
Rhyme's smile remained, though her laugh was cut short when her friend began to talk. Her gaze met his briefly before she reduced herself to bending over and plucking a flower out of the soi in front of her. She sat up again, flower in tow, as she twirled inbetween her index finger and thumb, examing the soft blue petals in a faint curiousity and admiration. She lifted her other hand. which was resting on the log, and ran her fingers across the delicate petals, her caring expression deepening as she did such. She listened with one ear as Canada struggled to work his mouth correctly, and it earned him a gentle glance from the younger woman. Rhyme allowed her gaze to settle into his gentle blue eyes, and her smile curved up a little. She continued to twirl the stem of the flower between her thumb and forefinger, in awe of it's fragile beauty.
"You mean the reaping,"Rhyme concludes, able to speak without falter, her voice remaining soothing and calm.
The younger girl turns so that her blue gaze can meet his dead-on, and show no real fear, or confidence, just understanding.
"Yes Matt," She says, and suddenly sounds a little older, a little more tired,"I'm ready. Just as I, and my people, are ready for it every year."
To have such an ability, to talk about such a horror without sadness or fear showing in ones eyes is strange indeed. But rhyme was speaking the truth, and nothing but. She truely understood that she had nothing to argue about, she couldn't. So she watched her people go in, with a remorseful, but knowing grin. And that has how it has always been since these days began. She taught her people to be ready for what may come, and hope for the best, but until the best came, that they would just need to manage, and try to make the best of what they had. Though it didn't seem like it, Rhyme acted far older than what she looked. She acted wisely on most accounts, and to see her loose her cool was unheard of among her people. Yes she cried, but not in the face of her people, because she knew that they needed her greatly.

"I don't know how you can do it." Canada said the words after a moment of silence. "You're always so happy...even during this time of year. I'm not sure if I should be envious of you, or..." he trailed off, not knowing how to finish his sentence. He wished that he could be as positive as Rhyme all the time, but yet;...he felt like he shouldn't be cheerful, like it was a crime to be even the slightest bit pleased with anything. That was the effect Panem's rule had on him. She had twisted everything so much, she was now stealing his very emotions. He shook his head as if to clear it of thought of the despicable country, smiling slightly at Rhyme. "Anyway, did you get anything from the market? I got a loaf of bread this morning; it was all I could trade with the merchants, even today."

"Call me Rhyme, please."
Rhyme looked over to the young Canadian as he spoke his mind eventually. Her smile remained, though it was faint, and se bowed her head when listening to him trail off into his memries. All Rhyme could manage was a half-hearted shake of her head, showing that she didn't know why it was so easy for her really. She somewhat knew, but not very well. Her blue gaze pulled away from the flower and turned to Matt, her smile warm in content pleasure as he looked down at the ground dispairingly. She lifted the flower up and reach over to him, weaving it into his hair with a small giggle.
"There is no reason to let her feel your sadness, Matt. IT'll be okay, someday all of this will end. We just need to wait for that day to come. Not every country lasts forever you know." She told him gently, he blue petals vibrant against his pale blond locks.
She immediately smiled at the sight of it and her eyes shut themselves in cheer.
"We just have to be patient, and it will come!" She told him, speaking highly of their future.
Rhyme spoke as though the Reapingweren't today at all. That it was just another day of her meeting with her closest friend. She could actually shut ou the thought of such a horror happening, and replaces it with thoughts of her older brother Japan, and her best friend Canada. When her friend asked what she got, her face brightened up even more as she reached around and pulled her back pack off with pride. She then dug around it and pulled out some fresh raspberries that she traded a tone for. She held them up and grinned at Matt.
"I've been saving up! And I got your favorite Matt!" She giggled, pulling out a little leather pouch, filled with a half a cup of sugar that cost more than the berries, she had been saving her tradings up all year to get the treats,"Sugar and Raspberries! And we can put them on the bread to make a really yummy treat~" She explained, Rhymes eyes's were bright with thoughtfullness and care.

"You...you're right. We have to wait. Someday, this will all be a memory..." Canada agreed, the smile growing on his face when he saw the berries. "Oh, wow, you're the best, Rhyme! How did you remember I love raspberries? And the sugar will really top things off!" With that being said, Matthew took out the bread and broke it in half, gently taking the sugar and raspberries and spreading them over each half, handing one to Rhyme. "Thanks, again. May the odds be every in your favor!" He said the phrase in a light, joking tone, even though his heart filled with dread at the meaning behind the words.

"Call me Rhyme, please."
Rhyme was happy to see Canada smiling again, and it made her smile as well, uttering a soft giggle. She looked up for a brief moment befpre she closed her eyes and hummed a gentle, melodious tune. Hearing the crackle of the bread being broke in half, her blue orbs snapped open and she smileddown as he spread the berries and sugar onto the tiny loaves. Taking her half, Rhyme smiled to Canada as well, and nodded.
"Of course, keep your chin up, Matt." Rhyme exclaimed, avoiding the phrase that every country nowadays knew so well.
The little girl leaned over on the bench and placed her hand on his shoulder with a soft smile, nodding to him reassuringly. Then she laughed as she took a berry from her loave and put it on his face, making two dashes across his cheeks with the berries juices. A huge grin appeared as sher laughter grew.
"There, face painting all done~ Just like when we were little~" Rhyme teased.

((Hey guys, it would be a good idea to skip to when they are all on their platforms and the timer is counting down, dont you think? That way it gives all of us something to roleplay.))
Cheer up and dry your damp eyes and tell me when it rains,
And I'll blend up that rainbow above you,
And shoot it through your vαιɴѕ

(Ooh, yes! Good idea!!! Can I say yes to that, being an administrator? I never was one before, so I don't know if that's in their power)
